First, I think you're missing my point. Everyone who praises the Texans and their offseason moves isn't smarter than everyone else. And everyone who doesn't praise the Texans and their offseason moves are dumber than everyone else. But we Texan fans are going to react to the attention as though that were the case. [
Again. You're missing my point. No one here has said, "because Troy said it, it must be true"...You have some here saying they respect his opinion, but I have not seen one single opinion be swayed because of what TA or anyone else has said...
When someone post a thread about someone in the national media saying something positive, most fans come into the thread and just enjoy reading something positive coming from a national prospective instead of the same old "they are going to be terrible again because they didn't adress the line" crap...All stories like this do is make you feel good...they don't sway opinions...that much is obvious...And they damn sure don't prophesize the future...My point is that you have this small group of 'fans' that come into the thread and say "well he doesn't know what he's talking about" or "what does he know"...basically spewing negativity into what is by all accounts a positive situation....
Like I said, most of those select few are by no coincidence the same group that felt like our previous QB was good enough "if only he had more help"...whatever....you can see it you way, and I'll see it mine...
If you think Troy Aikmans opinion is non-relevant...ok....that's really not the point...the point is that it's positive news about 'our' team, and we have fans that seem to get angry, or disgruntled when they read it...that's awfully strange to me...
Someone could put together tape that "proves" that our line really is the problem.
That's really not relevant. YOu can put together tapes of any teams O-line and find a bunch of busted plays. The point is that for the FIRST time people are actually showing that it wasn't ALL on the line as previously thought to be common knowledge. I don't know how you don't see that. If someone accuses you of cheating on your wife with a secretary all the time but a tape surfaces showing you and the secretary just running to Office Depot for some staples and then heading back to the office, would you not feel that was somewhat significant ? or atleast worth a mention ? No it doesn't prove that you're not a cheater, but it atleast gives you some of your credibility back...
These National figures that show positives about the Texans are 'giving us some of our credibility back, or atleast giving the line a little more credibility'...of course if you think it was their fault that David is gone and they never did anything right, ya' probably think they don't deserve that credibility, therefore you get upset, which leads you to come into the thread trying to discount that opinion....
