Schaub in a Texans uni

Just trying to sharpen my photoshop skillz.

pic.php

By posting a picture of David Carr? I don't get it. :shades:

i seriously hope he does'nt wear #8...

No kidding....the number is always the first thing a person sees when looking for a player. Of course, if he succeeds, #8's curse will be lifted pretty quickly.

Maybe this is one of those cases of getting back on the horse after falling off. #8 might scare us a little but if we go a couple seasons without one, we'll never get over the stigma?

...I still wish he was #10.

Ahh, my bad.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, (did I say really) wish he would have chosen a number, any number, besides number 8. :gun:

Well, we should be able to get some pics of him in a practice jersey today, no?
They are talking about his timing and his touch in the practice today on 610am....also noting that Rosenfels looked impressive too.

Although I love the Okoye pick, this is why I thought we would have been better off trading our 10 and our 2nd rounder to move up and grab Peterson. If Sage hadn't worked out, we always could have drafted a QB next year.

But no sour grapes. Our team looks superior compared to previous years. I hope JJ becomes a star and Schaub lives up to his hype.

Schaub/Sage/Okoye v Sage/Quinn/Okoye/Kalil-Jarrett....

granted there is another lost 2nd round pick in the first scenario but I am happy with drafting Schaub in the 2nd Round. Schaub > Kalil or Jarrett etc.

Since you mention the 10th pick, this means this was post Schaub trade thus we didn't have a second round pick so your scenario wouldn't have worked at all.

JJ? Who's JJ? I'm a little confused. I'm just thinking JJ Hardy but I'm sure that's not who you meant since this is a football thread.

Jacoby Jones WR in the third round.

I'm still holding out hope that he will change the number. Makes my stomach turn a little. If he does keep it, well its a giant set to come in here and live to that number. Oh wait, scratch that last part.

He really is wearing #8.

I just got a sour stomach looking at that picture. I wish he had of chosen a different numer. Even #00 would have been better than #8.

My lacrosse number in college was 00. Double-nothing was what my opponents called me...until they felt the butt-end of my stick in their ribs.

Played with the image a bit, as I didn't want my online friends to get physically ill at the sight of Ocho Stinko :)

How's BattleRed and Number Seven sound?

I guess I missed it, as I was under the impression that Schaub hadn't decided on a number to wear yet. Dangit, he has #8 on in that video :(

Lucky 7. Love it. Now we just have to convince Matt.

8 is just cursed. If I have to look at 8 all year, I might just have to puke. :devilpig:

wow watch the video everyone... be amazed by the throwing motion..... isnt it beautiful i feel confident that he'll be better then carr already

you'll be missed kailee wong

They are selling the #8 Schaub jerseys at Reliant.

Get used to it. Wait? I guess you already are used to it, a little too used to it, I guess.

It's just a number.

Wow, Im not used to seeing #8 passing the ball with that over the top throwing motion. Thats gonna take some getting used to.

Sports by nature is a very supersticious. As someone who played baseball, I have seen guys on a hitting streak keep the same gum for a week, not change socks (not fun) and other really odd stuff.

I would have loved Schuab to have chosen a different number, but that is just personal preferance. Personally I would like to have seen a double digit number like 12 since more HOF QB wore that number than any other.

Yep I am one supersticious odd person.

I'm know I am being over dramatic tc, but to me that number represents everything that was wrong with this franchise in it's first 5 years of existence. When I see that number I think David Carr, and Dom Capers, and Charlie Casserly, and sacks, and losses, and all other kinds of ugly images.

I don't want to think about any of that. I want a clean slate. The number 7, or heck, and other number in the universe besides 8 would be cool by me. I just really don't want to see a Texans jersey 8 again as long as I live.

Other than that, I think it's great. :bat:

Someone could make a pretty penny marketing "Shaub" name tags for owners of #8 Texans jerseys.

Geeeezzz, you GUYS are a bunch of whiners!! I agree with TC, it's just a number, get over it!! I guess the first game he screws up you all will blame DC! BOTTOM LINE!! It's the number MS chose to wear, so blame HIM!! Maybe he has aspirations of walking the the QB shoes of Aikman or Young. Who knows!!!

I don't get it either ? The only expalanation that I can think of that seems reasonable is that Schaub has developed an attachment for the number since its what he's worn since being in the NFL as I undersand it. And perhaps he has, though one would wonder why he wouldn't be just as willing to wear his college number ? Otherwise, can't think of a reasonable explanation for putting Schaub in #8 ?

I cringed big time when I first heard Schaub was going with 8, but reading this thread it struck me as a seriously bold move on Matt's part.

Oh, and while I'm piping up, I'm very glad to have re-discovered this board after the sorry changes on the team site. Dramatically more intelligence on this board.

theres plenty of numbers im interested in this year, the number on shaub's jersey is not one of them. number of wins, number of sacks by mario, number of interceptions by our secondary, etc. Troy Aikman wore 8 pretty well, so who cares? not me.
