JagNation Breaks Down the Schedule

At first glance, the Jaguars schedule looks pretty good. We break down the schedule, month by month, and shed some light on what the Jaguars have in store for them.

------------------------------------

Revenge game, again. We all know what the Texans have done to the Jaguars, historically, and recently. This will be the first meeting between the two teams where David Carr isn't on the roster. Carr has a 6-3 record against Jacksonville with that awful roster. Schaub is supposed to be a better quarterback, but the Jaguars will take their chances.

------------------------------------

The regular season finale against the proverbial thorns in the Jaguars side, the Houston Texans. The Texans may be improved over last season, but this will probably be a game that the Jaguars will be favored in. It is likely that this game will have playoff implications, so the Jaguars must celebrate New Years a couple days early in Texas.

Source / Rest of story

Bring it on, JagNation! :texflag:

You know it has to kill them that every year they look at their schedule and see the Texans and think it is two wins, and it turns into two losses. :splits:

Do you really think they even think they'l squeak a single win out of us anymore? That's like thinking they'll go 16-0. Stupid Jags.

Yeah, the 'predictions' seemed kind of tame. I mean, using words/phrases like "probably" and "take their chances" are not signs of rugged confidence.

It'll be our luck that we'll be 9-6 going into the last week and need a win to secure a playoff spot. It would be pretty exciting scenario, though. :redtowel:

lol... Remember the last time the Texans v. Jaguars had "play-off" implications?

That Jags folded like a cheap chair...

Yeah but at least Charlie Bernstein does not use the same lame jokes every other writer seems to want to write versus coming up with new material. It seems the writer actually knows the teams and the games and although it is slanted in the Jags favor (it is written for the Jags site) it is not ridiculously written.

I have no problem with how it is written. May not agree with it totally, but at least he does not have the same issue as Bud Selig.

I've got no problem with it, either...I just like reading what other teams think about us, because being underestimated and/or overlooked can play to our advantage.

Jags are the only team on a 3 game road trip...3rd time in 4 years!!! Totally rediculous, to me. Texan fans, you guys are sounding like Jag fans, taking the Jag as an easy win. We will see...payback can be a..:bat:

We don't think any win will be easy. We just know that whether its good, bad or ugly - we own the jags! :howdy:

October is crazy for the Jags...The wohle season will ride on how they play in October. Historically for October, Jags have a losing record. I'm stoked we get the Titans week one, then Vick week 2. The Jags Defense will shut down those running QB's in the heat of Jville at 1pm. :bat:

Well you should have two wins coming out of the gate. You will be seeing the same QB on back to back weeks.

Yes, you own a record 6-4. That's not too crazy to rub in my face, but kudos to the Texans last season. I don't look at the Texans as an easy win, not since December 2004. When the Texans were 4-2, the Jags in 2005 swept to make it even 4-4. So, If history repeats...the Jags should sweep this season? HAHA, just kidding...I'm pulling for the Texans this season to upset those Titans...VY stuff has been run in your face all off season.

Whats up 1stDown... I never even noticed where it said that under Mootini..
Remember I'm slow, but I'm not fast.... :brickwall:

I would have given you a lot harder of a time - had I noticed....LOL!!

Haha....Glad we can still discuss football here...I'll miss the old Texantalk, but this is cool. What do you guys think the Texans will draft in round one? :vinny:

Geeeez. At this point I have no idea... Still leaning towards a DB or DL. Jags?

That's what happens to us small market teams, the NFL likes to **** us.

We will trade our first for David Carr!

Otherwise, ya be seeing 3 losses for sure. 2 in December.

Still going for Nelson, or has anybody else tickled your funny bone?

Jags are very interested in Nelson, but the notion of Ginn is still out there. I don't see the Jags going for another WR in the 1st round. I believe the Jags will pick S, LB, or DE, 1st pick.....Defense. Carl Smith, Jags Defensive Cooordinator was on the local sports radio w/Pete Prisco a week ago...Carl notioned he would love to pick Defense in the 1st round. This draft is going to be cool to watch. I still think the Texans need to address that OL, but I understand the need to build your defense, support Mario/DeMarco. If I was the Texans, picking defense on the 1st round, I would go for CB/S. Your 2ndary needs a lot of help.

We will trade our first for David Carr!

76, Sorry, the Carr problem has been traded in. Your new QB will hopefully Schuab your problems :tease: We'll see if the Cream of Beef will be served this fall...Man, I missed the taste of it last season...ouch the broom hurt!!!

out of curiousity, have the jags considered dealing matt jones? size, speed, athleticism, and brains ... but has bricks for hands at times (a lesser andre johnson). for a first rounder i know he's aggrivated more than a few jags fans. i for one would love to give lil shanahan a shot at creating matt jones, but we'll never see him.

Scooter, The Jags have an investment in Jones, 1st round pick. This year is going to be make or break for Jones/Williams/Leftwich. I am a big Matt Jones fan and feel he can become a primary target for the Jags WR core. I think Matt will be used more in the red zone this season. If the Jags flop, the house will be cleaned, starting at JDR. For the Jags, 2007 is make or break.

Funny you mentioned JDR being the first to be run, if the Jags flop... I thought he improved the jags only slightly over *ahem* Tom Coughlin... I thought of JDR as the modern day Jerry Glanville... Please, don't ask me how I came up with that, its just something in the styles they instilled in their teams... Nothing having to do with leaving Elvis tickets.

Bill...I do think JDR is better coach than Coughlin. He is a players coach you knows the game from playing it. I don't know about the Jerry Glanville comparison???

I know thats a weird comparison, but I think its more about the team's mentality, a toughness. Some people consider the Jags to be dirty, but some used to consider the Oilers dirty (under Glanville)... Kind of along those lines, not so much the X's and O's part of it. No question JDR is a better coach in that respect.

I see what you're saying...I don't think the Jags play THAT dirty now...as they used too. I think Kube's is going to get your team there soon, I like him as a coach. It would be nice to see both Jags/Texans fighting for the division this year....coming down to week 17.

Agreed. I think the Jags games/atmosphere here in Houston is pretty intense (partially due to the fact that we seem to be always battle red against you guys).

I'd take that scenario. At least we'd have something to look foward to late in December...rather than facing the dang Browns again.

Well, I would say that any team can beat any other team any given Sunday. Look what Houston did to Indy in week 16!

84...I like the rivalry...you guys might get a all Black uni at Jville?

True...Here is a crazy fact the Jags are 6-0 on these 3 game road trips!!! Might be a benefit for the Jags??? I would be cool to have a 9-0 record at the end of the season...PS I like you pic!!! I miss cheerleaders!!!:vinny:
