How Long...?

HoustonTalk

Practice Squad
How long do you think until the Texans make it to the Super Bowl.

I Just want to see everyones opinions, I could see us making it there in 5 years or less if Shaubs what he's expected to be.

Who knows, we could pull a New Orleans and make a run next year if we have a nice draft. I say within the next 5 years we could make a SB run given Matt Schaub lives up to his hype

What.. years from it? Wait, I've read right here.. that it was David that was holding us back. He's gone. So why the long wait. Can't be the OL as that was David's fault making them look bad. :elmo:

With David, we NEVER would have made a SB run. At least we've got a chance for it now.

Seriously get over it he is not here. The team and the player both needed a change and that has been done. You don't like it? Don't rally care because there is nothing anyone can do about it. You could stop supporting the team if you ever did.

I am so sick and tired of these little comments about carr and the line, that has to do with carr. I am sick of from the carr fanatics and the carr haters. You folks need to seriously think about getting some mental help because you have a scary obsession. Geez, get the Fek over it already all of you.

:brickwall

I am hoping for a SB contention as much as the next Texan fan, I just want to do it "right".

We could easily throw together some talent in FA which typicly consists of players in there last year or 2 before retirement. SB teams are built in the draft and I would be willing to wait another 5-10 years for a SB dynasty rather than a SB contender.

That's just my opinion though.

"Playoffs?! You're talking... PLAYOFFS?!?"

I've thought about this a bit and... at this point, I just want a good team. I want a team that no one wants to play. Then I want to get into the playoffs and play well there.

I can't even get my mind around playing in a Super Bowl. After 41 Super Bowls, there are still... what... 13-14 teams that have never won it.

Let's take this one step at a time. First step, let's stop being a joke.

Any discussion of super bowl is a bit premature.

File that under the same category as, "How long till Scarlet J agrees to marry me?"

It took the Oilers....oh wait, the Oilers never went till they were the Titans. It may take decades and decades...but at least we can compete and make the playoffs....and I expect us to start competing for the playoffs next season.

I think that we might make the playoffs for the 08-09 season. Let's reach 500 first

3-8 years? or like vinny said it could take decades...I guess we will just have to see how the next few off seasons go's.

i would say 5 to 6 years as well...but...

who cares? i just want to watch a team that isn't in a pit of misery

I wouldn't go as far as a "pit of misery", but it's not too off-base. I don't care if we EVER make the SB. As long as we ALWAYS make the playoffs. I see these teams like Denver, where you know they're making the playoffs before the season even starts. I want that. I want the NFL Network, ESPN, etc to HAVE to respect us finally. We may be 2-3 years off, but I think we can do it, and I would love to see us get there.

hopefully sometime before i die. they better win one too... being on the loser end of superbowl sunday must suck SO bad... i honestly think i'd cry if it was a heartbreaker.

Depends on alot of stuff.

1- Drafting and signing good players who stay.

2- Putting together a 3-4 win streak, not 2.

3- Few injuries as we can(see Carolina as a great example).

4- Keeping Kubes if we don't go in 3 yrs.

5- If Indy falls off in the next year or 2.

I feel we can beat the other teams in our division. So, if we can start trading or sweeping Indy...that would be a plus.

If all that and more works...any time.

.500 teams DO complete for the playoffs. Every year a team that is one game over .500 or so has a shot to make a wild card slot.

Didn't the Rams make it a couple years ago at 7-9?
Why are we in the AFC?
If we were in the NFC we would already be in the playoffs!
