Now that Carr is free, who do you think will pick him up?

I'm thinking Minnesota.

Best of luck David...sorry 'bout all them sacks, homey.

1st of all- hopefully some team will pick him up! If so, best wishes to him & his fine & blessed family! David has been a model citizen, a Christian, & a fine role model! You never hear about him being arrested for DUI, or carrying a handgun illegally, or extra marital affairs, punching /or shooting someone, going to strip clubs & getting extra stuff, getting an STD ala Ron Mexico:), getting caught doing drugs, or producing alot of kids from different women, or beating up his wife! Too bad he didn't suceed here in H-town!

Miami.

I bet he goes to the Jaguars and they beat us twice a year for the next three years. Nobody's even got the Jags on their radar, and they are far from solid at QB.

obviously you didnt hear the Vikings Head Coach/Offensive Co-ordinator's opinion of David Carr....it wasnt exactly a ringing endorsement to say the least...he basically said the same thing some of us 'carr haters' have been saying since Day One

i dont think he will get a starting gig, but I think he could be brought in for competition in Oakland or perhaps Detroit.

who cares if he is Ward Cleaver. They guy sucked at QB. For 5 years he sucked...finally the nightmare is over

he can take his All American act to NFL Europe....

Someone mentioned the same thing in another thread. That would suck, considering guys that have left for other teams have come back to beat us. If that were to happen, then you'd have to face VY and Carr twice a year. Ah well, we'll find ways to beat them back.

Minnesota or one of those Florida teams.

Question: How will long will Carr last in the NFL?

My guess is two years max. Reason being, whatever team gets him now will have little invested. Therefore, he will have very little time to prove himself, maybe 4 to 6 games.

Just look at Joey Harrington.

Anyone else remember that 2002 Draft show on ESPN when they said that if you look 5-6 years down the road, neither Harrington or Carr would be busts. Man that is creepy.

Carr? Too expensive??

A guy who got fired and has not job certainly cant be that expensive.

Its actually pretty sad how the rest of the world has come around and now has thrown dirt on Carr's grave. Earlier this year it was the same old,' he doesnt have the talent around him'. now he is a bust.

just shows you how the national media rolls.

I wish the guy the best. He's got a ton of money in his pocket and can enjoy life.

Raiders.... Then i hope they take CJ in the draft ......Carr to Johnson just like old times....

Oh man.....that's a crazy thought. Good point.

With their young, aggressive Defense and having added some pretty decent additions this F/A period...you could be onto something.

They've added Dominic Rhodes & Justin Griffith in the backfield and have dropped Aaron Brooks & Marques Tuia-so-so-oops-o...so that might be right-on!

:) I had a buddy at work that liked the Raiders alot (tattoo and all) so I followed the team as most of us have our second and third teams we like.

Good fit for DC still no protection but he is used to that.

Lurking on other message boards it seems fans everywhere want to bring him in for a look. I would like to see him get a chance with a good team.

My guess is that he will be signed soon.

I'm thinking Ravens.

McNair is old, Boller is useless.

Carr could be a starter there and on that team they could go places.

I don’t have any idea where Carr is going. I just hope his group of apologists follow him. I can see it now; if Carr is a back up on another team, the apologists will be spreading misinformation and downgrading the starter.

Just a feeling but I think Atlanta may take him. Maybe they would of had we offered him in the Schaub deal. But, now they need a back up who knows the WCO...thats Carr.

Thing is, he will get a very odd contract as I have said before with many incentives. Like a 1M base, and then 1M if he plays in 50-75% of the games, and hen some other ammount if he plays well.

My guess is he will soon be parking himself at the golf course/country club/beach spending all those millions the Texans have given him...

I wonder why we don't see posts like this for people who've actually done something for the Texans, like DDW.

I dunno but do you think he'd settle for being a backup, because he'd never
be more than that in Vick-land ?

A team that won't suprise me if they showed David some interest would be Chicago. They are not too impressed with Greise (sp) and we all know about Grossman.

Chicago would be the most obvious choice for a "best case scenario" if you're Carr. Great defense, Great coaching, Good O-line & Great running game (even with just Benson). Grossman sucks and is as reliable and consistent as a stripper-girlfriend with a coke-habit.

Just saying.

hahah

I'm starting to lean towards Green Bay. Favre can't hang around forever and from what I've heard they are not completely sold on Rodgers. This would give him a year to sit behind one of the best and toughest QB's in the NFL. A year to soak everything in, learn a new system and compete for a starting job next year.

Latest rumor out of PFT is mutual interest from Miami and Carr. Would be a worse situation for him with respect to WR corps and not much of an upgrade on the line. Would have Brown to lean on.

I actually think despite those things it could be a good fit for him and he could really succeed. Miami would really feel like a change of scenery. They could add Levi Brown or a WR to help him out.

Knowing that from this point it's pretty much Carr's choice, I see him going into a low pressure situation like Oakland where he can depend on the undying support of hometown fans, and having the O-line as a crutch "just in case" he plays poorly....

I can't see him going somewhere where the spotlight will be on him where the fans will expect him to be "The Man"...

yeah i think we want trent green though. but KC is asking for a f'ing 2nd round pick. AND another undisclosed pick. are they high?

Interesting speculation.
Definitely would be a different climate in more ways than 1.

I do hope Carr has a restraining order against you, because you are completely over the top about how you feel about someone you probably have never met.

OK it has been a awhile but I saw a few people that said a lot of nice things about DD/DW and how sad it was for such a promising career to be cut short. I will say that DD has been a model player and citizen and I hope his life after football is not filled with the issue that now plague some players about there health after football.

The Green Bay discussion is very interresting, but would Carr want to be a back-up or would he want to go where he can at the very least compete for the starting role? My thought is that he might goto Carolina because of how the season ended for the panthers and the organization was not real happy with the play of Delhomme.

Get this. The Raiders absolutely want this guy....with thier sieve of an OL. While it was obvious that the OL was NOT the problem here, there is NO DOUBT that is the problem on Oakland. They couldn'r run OR pass.

The Raiders fans think that the sack problem was the fault of the QB's. I find that ironic that they are blaming the exact opposite of who should get the blame, just like most here did.

Carr vs the o-line in Oakland would be a site to behold as they are blaming the QB's and in comes Mr. Sack himself. Wonder who will take the fall then for the teflon QB, carr.

Sorry there man, I didn't know that what I had posted was going to send you over the top. Just to let you know, I have met him. I don't hang out on a regular basis or anything of the sort. He's just a good guy.

Carr is fools gold. If you were a prospector drilling for oil, and you saw some black goo bubbling up in Texas, when you drilled for oil, after spending a fortune to set up, you would find that you drilled thru a sewage line.

Not sure if Carr is the model Christian you've made him out to be, and I doubt you know either. It's all just window dressing which is worth absolutely nothing on the field on Sunday.
I've found in life that the ones that wear their religion on their sleeve are the ones with the most skeletons in their closet.
Carr was here way too long.
He stunk to high heaven.
Tripped over his own feet.
Couldn't throw over any D, had to throw through the seams. Had no leadership capability. A boy in a man's game.
People like you make me hope Miami picks him up.
Then we can read about him and his new fixation, Brazillian babes.
I know, I know, "not our Davey!" ...pffft.
