Falcons fan asessment of Schaub.....

Hey!

Coming here from Atlanta and the Falcons message board.

First, there are many that feel Schaub was the better QB then Vick. Schaub is the clasic west coast QB, which was why he was drated. He has shown great poise from his first days in camp up until his last play for the Falcons. He is a decnt guy with a polite and calm demeanor. His knowledge of the west coast offense goes back to his college playing days. His mobility is way underated as he managed to put some yards up scrambling. He will not get you 1000 yards on the ground, but he knows how to avoid a rush and get out of bounds.

Overall, I think youguys got a decent QB that has potentional to be a pro bowler.

If Schaub could wear #8 then all the fans have to do is cover over the name and not spend $200 for another jersey.

I don't really know. We are kind if in a tight salary cap situation here. There was speculation that we would trade the #10 overall to move down for extra, yet less expensive picks. That still me be an option. There is plenty of support for the Falcons to move down to select Calvin Johnson. He is a local kid and a real treat to watch play......Don't know if we can afford him though.....
 
Just a "guesstimate" but I would imagine if CJ goes #1 overall to Oakland, which might be likely if Carr is dealt to the Raiders, he'd probably be signing a deal worth somewhere around $70million. That's crazy money & it's only going to get crazier.

Seriously, I hope your evaluation is valid, and he realizes what you say
his potential is.

Mike Vick, I believe, went to get checked for herpes but used the alias "Ron Mexico". At least, that's the way I remember it. There was some fairly big internet hullaballoo about it and now a bunch of people call Vick "Ron Mexico" because it's funny.

I know who he is. Ron Mexico doesn't play football. Michael Vick does. BTW, you guys are getting a quarterback that can throw into great double coverage. Get ready for 20+ interceptions.

20+ interceptions... you can tell this, how? Saying that is just the same as saying "Get ready for 33 touchdowns a year" based on his performance against the Patriots.
 
Actually Mike Vick uses the alias "Ron Mexico" when trolling for chicks. It turns out that one of the chicks sued "Ron" because he knowingly gave her herpes without telling her he had it. Whats funny is that chicks seem to have actually believed his bs "Ron Mexico" name.

I still like the "Really Mike Really" skit on SNL about Vick sneaking the weed container on the plane.

I'm reasonably certain that he was answering the question and not asking who Ron Mexico is.

Who do you blame when Ron Mexico still sucks? Ron Mexico?

He answered the question with another question (and a touch of sarcasm if I'm not mistaken).

That's my guess at least.

Have you watched him before? He consistently throws into great double and triple coverage at least three times in a game and will throw at least 20 interceptions. Bank it. BTW, if you watched the Patriots game, he threw 3 dropped interceptions to the same man. Get ready for mediocrity at the quarterback position again.

Another Falcons fan here...

Overall, I think it was a trade that worked out well for both teams. We're in a semi-rebuilding period now with a new coach and change of schemes, etc. so the extra picks will be very helpful for us. For you guys, I think you have a potential pro-bowl QB in Schaub who is going to take your team to another level.

Alot of fans here in Atlanta are just sweating bulletts and hoping we didn't make the same mistake twice, by losing another Brett Favre type QB. I hope you guys can take some solace in knowing that.
