I just saw it on ESPN2.

Too bad for all the Carr haters or Plummer lovers.

I'm just glad to hear that bum isnt gonna play in Houston.

welp, this is a great trade for the bucs. chris simms was never going to be the starter, and plummer is an excellent fit in gruden's offense. he's a savvy veteran, and gruden loves 'em.

the #2 pick and a 3rd for schaub? atlanta better throw in the 10th, at least.
IF this is a deal, they likely will just swap spots in the 1st and Detroit give them their third for Schaub and then Atlanta will IMO, likely draft CJ or AP. Kinda makes sense I guess.

I assume Atlanta would be moving up for Calvin Johnson.

Too bad for Calvin, he will be another WR in a long line of "bad receivers who can't get it done for Vick" in Atlanta.

I think Vick will be long gone when Calvin hits his prime.

I got the message from a credible source but he isn't sure it's done yet. Atlanta and Detroit swap first round and "other picks" and Detroit ends up with Schaub and Atlanta gets the LOCAL kid Calvin Johnson with the Detroit pick. Not enough details to mention really (I usually pass this kind of stuff around in PM's to some of you guys), but I figured I'd share with you guys since it should be a whirlwind day.
makes sense. but oakland is taking johnson. still, they can get joe thomas. or adrian peterson.

You are totally misreading what they are doing...they are trying to gear up for him...not move away from him.
I understand that. Of course they are gearing up for him. I'm just saying that Calvin will not reach his potential until Vick is gone which will be about three years. Vick will probably end up on another team and Atlanta will finally give up on him. But if Atlanta does trade for him, it will be Vicks last stand.

You haven't seen Johnson play then....He isn't a project.
Yes i know he isn't a project. The guy will probably be in eight to ten pro bowls. But I don't think he will reach his potential until Vick is moved if he goes to Atlnata that is. Case in point. Andre would probably be a top two recievier if he had a better QB than Carr. Imagine Aj with the Seahawks or Rams. And I know Calvin will be better than Aj but having a good QB does help out.

Interesting, so what does this do to the Draft:

Assuming rumors are correct:
Oakland-Russell
Atlanta-CJ
Cleveland-AP
TB-?
Arizona-?
Washington-Adams
Minn-Ginn
Houston-?

So does TB roll with Plummer or drafting Quinn to sit for a few years. Or maybe they take Joe Thomas to strengthen there line. If they take Joe T I would have to expect:

Arizona taking Levi Brown. You don't just cut your starting left tackle unless your sure you can replace him or upgrade.

That would still leave Lynch, Branch, Okaye, Landry on the board.

So do we trade down a few spots pick up extra picks and be happy with one of those four? Might be worth a few extra pics.

Now Now Vinny, play nice.

I thought for sure with the comments that Kubiak and Smith have said recently that they would make a move to get a QB that could legitimately compete with Carr. I don't see that happening right now and honestly don't think that the Texans can afford to lose Carr at this point. Plummer to me was an upgrade at the QB spot, but anything else is an equal or a step down.

Wouldn't the rumors having us at 3 picking Peterson?

This could work out for the Texans & AP getting together. Here's how I see it playing out:

1) Oakland-Russell
2) Atlanta-CJ
3) Arizona-Joe Thomas--Cleveland agrees to trade down with Arizona, thinking they can get AP with the 5th pick.
4) Houston-Adrian Peterson--Houston trades up to pick AP before Cleveland.
5) Cleveland-Brady Quinn-- Having missed out on AP, they settle for Quinn.
6) Washington-Branch--Big DT to plug the middle.
7) Minn-???
8) Tampa Bay-Anderson?
