Mike Golic this morning if the Texans get Jake Plummer then David Carr will be avaible and probably gone.

He also said that he liked David Carr as a quarterback.

Greeny said doesnt a quarterback have to show signs of improvement.

Hello Plummer, goodbye Carr.
Start Sage 3 TDs in one half.

I really think that Carr will have success elsewhere. Maybe a change of scenery will help him out. Let's see what happens.

Forget what they are looking for as a replacement for a second.....you have D'Rob saying "It's time.......I'm not saying he can't be a great QB with another team. But here has been here 5 years and the best we have been able to do is 7-9." You also have Moulds saying, "the quarterback has to show he can carry (the team.)" It is amazing that they can express things alot of people here have been saying for a while yet people want to keep him. Add to that the fact that management has already shown a willingness to let him go and many fans are ready and you have a situation where it is imperative that he be let go in a trade or some type of deal. He's lost fans, teammates and a team's managements faith. It iS time. As I said before, you part ways an hope both parties are succesful.

Of course he'll have success elsewhere... somewhere you don't have to worry about worry about NFL defenses, like Canada or Europe or Zimbabwe

Only time will tell what is going to happen with DC. Feelings are mixed about him around the league as far as I have seen. He got paid in Houston, the question is "Do the Texans want to keep paying him?"

Greeny is an *****.......just ask his wife.

And in further news it is speculated that if the sun shines down on a clear day the sky will turn blue.

John Lopez wrote in today's Chronicle that keeping Carr is crippling the franchise .

Picking up the option on Carr's contract crippled the franchise. Let's not ignore the obvious here. Management repeatedly gets off scott free when the bashing goes on about Carr. If you didn't think you could hitch your horse to that wagon, then don't arbitrarily reup him and tell us that he is the guy that can lead your team.

but if Kubiak wouldn't have said 'Carr is my guy' everyone knows he wouldn't have got the job. McNair hired his rubber stamp and he is now reaping what he sows.

McNair can go fellate himself for all I care. He is a blithering moron.

I agree but thats when Kubes was saying he could turn Carr into a Superbowl callibar qb so....

Picking up the option on Carr's contract crippled the franchise.

Almost everyone, including most of the Carr fans, were against giving him that contract. I'm beginning to think that the fans really do know better than the front office.

Just wanted to point out that by your statement of "management has already shown a willingness to let him go" most of the team should be let go. Kubes and Smith have said they will listen to anything that improves the team. I believe McNair said this also. My point has always been, if we think Kubes and Smith were the correct choices and I do not remember any post saying otherwise, then how about us letting them make the decision on Carr? I like DC and think he will do better with a Oline that stays the same more than 2 games, a back than can average more than 3 yds and a #2 receiver that can get past a defender. Having said that, if management says "Carr, you gotta go." I'll trust that. I just do not see a better option available this year. For any of you to say "Anyone is better than Carr" is ridiculous to me. DC needs to improve and can. The same can be said for Dunte Robinson.

The last 10 games of his "season of improvement" last year he had ONE TD pass of any consequence and had 2 total over that ten game span. The other one was vs the Jets and it came late in the game when we were losing 26-3 in garbage time. When to you think this "improvement" will happen if it wasn't happening after 80 NFL starts?

Actually the contract is just one aspect .

This has been brewing for awhile ... several teamates have been vocal about Carr's treatment . Of course their gone now.

Carr is like the Little League pitcher who can't throw a strike but does'nt get pulled because Dad's the coach . When ask why junior does'nt get pulled Dad replies ... well who are we gonna put in . The answer is why not try somebody else because the job is not getting done .

I think Dunta and Moulds actions were those of a mutiny because of the fear Carr's coming back .

In the NFL, there are no other QBs that will have to have their footwork corrected during game time. There is only one QB I know of that his head coach is cautious about putting him in the shotgun, and I can't think of one starter who does not run a two minute drill, run a hurry up offense, or can not under any circumstance call an audible.

last year vick couldnt call an audible.
carr needs to go 5 years very little improvement.
let plummer, and sage battle it out.
get chris leak in the 4th/5th round and let him learn for a year or two.

Wouldn't it be something if Kubes sealed his fate with the Texans before he coached his first game by saying he wanted to keep Carr?

I can't think of many back-ups that fall into those categories...

I think your post is something most people fail to realize and truly grasp. I mean, for 10 FREAKING GAMES, he did that. I would be willing to bet that ANY QB drafted, including our very own Quinton Porter could throw more TD's in 10 games than that.

How can an NFL QB seriously go 10 games and have those numbers? It's almost impossible if you TRIED to do it. It's absolutely mindnumbing to me that people want him to have another shot.

Yes - now my mind has become officially numbed and 'my wages are about to be garnished.'

:scare:

I think its time Carr moved on and perhaps changed his name. Although I want Carr to have some succes where ever he goes I would like to know where us the fans would like to see him play.

The results speak for themselves. He'd be a really good backup, we need a starter.

Not to the extent that they have with Carr. They basically admitted to shopping him specifically. For a guy who was supposed to be a franchise QB that isn't what you usually here. Do you think Dunta and AJ were on the block? No. No one is saying Anyone But Carr but you are being ignorant to the way franchises work if you think being thrown under the bus by teammates, having yourself shopped on the market and having this much dissension is good for a team. Rosenfels, in my book, could do just as well while we get a younger person to learn. Some people act like they have bnever seen this before and that this can all be glossed over. Management is making more problesm if he stays.

Yeah, but you're overlooking the most important aspect: Carr was having fun during those games. You could tell by his million dollar smile. He was having fuuuuun, and that's all that's really important. :victory: well, except for maybe...winning

If Carr is unloaded this offseason, I think that is a clear indication that Kubiak wasn't onboard or completely sold on Carr when he took the job. You don't run away from that decision so fast. Besides, Kubiak has never came out and gave a ringing endorsement for Carr!

If Kubiak does get rid of Carr, then he is basically getting rid of #1 draft pick the year after picking the guy, considering the $8 million signing bonus and passing on VY!

It seems as though with this Carr situation, that to get the HC job with the Texans last year, Carr was a part of the package. Take it or leave it was probably how it was laid out in so many words. Which is probably why the other strong candidates were not seriously considered, at least that is how it looked to me.

If Kubiak positioned everything right and wasn't sold on Carr, now he can go to McNair and tell him to do one thing, just sign the checks and keep your mouth shut regarding talent and personnel decisions.

The decision to reup Carr last year was McNair's!

Since this whole situation is because Carr voided his last three years, he can now sing the song "Take the Money Run", by Steve Miller Band. Hulk can sing background vocals, wooo, wooo.... Great song!

Which brings me to my question.. Does anyone know why they gave Carr the max deal? Were they scared that if they gave him the one year that he would leave if he had an average season..

D freaking uh.

As far as some of the other comments in this thread, Kubiak made the mistake of listening to that little shiite Casserly during Jan-Mar last year, to the point that Gary actually believed he could get blood from a turnip.

blame McNair or Casserly.
i have no idea but they have done many odd things.

Uh, I wouldn't toss Zimbabwe around like that.

Nigeria is just right up the road from there and I know you have heard of Okoye. Judging from the fact that he is 19 years old, I would think Carr would get sacked in Pop Warner leagues in Zimbabwe.

Then what are you waiting for? Get over there and tryout they desparately need you and a wide reciever. I hope you can teach Carr and Sage how to pass the ball properly and in 2.8 seconds. Oh, by the way I hope you have medical insurance.

Point taken. Ah well. Wins will make this all better is what this ll comes fown to. At this point whatever personnel moves thwy have to make in order to put a winning product on the field on many Sundays to come, just do it.

Your sarcasm is as tight as bark on a tree.

The mistake the Texans made last year was not benching Carr for the last half of the season while Sage was still available. If they would have, then everyone would have clearly seen how absolutely terrible this offense was with or without Carr. But as it stands now, people are content to tell themselves that Carr was the bad egg and if we replace him with another guy that will somehow fix one of the worst O-lines in the league(mostly due to injuries).

I don't buy this at all, There is not a better alternative available yet this off season. Every available QB is worse than Carr or a totally unproven rookie. The QB's in the draft are no where near Vince Young caliber.

I hope logic prevails and we don't end up throwing away our current QB (and with him a lot of money that could be spent elsewhere) for a lesser option. and weather anybody will admit it or not, there are lesser options than Carr. It's hard to believe that there are now rational fans who are begging the team to replace him with Jake Plumber???????. I think the Carr hating bandwagon has become an unreasonable group who is willing to get rid of him no matter wht it costs the team. In my opinion it is very 'Casserly' Like decision making.

As for D-Rob's comments about Carr. The same should be said about him. In my opinion, his own poor play last year contributed mightily to many of our losses. It's a shame that he really thinks he has the clout to dog Carr. I think he is making a mistake making comments like that even if Carr will be let go.

i think your wrong in canada your still asked to have a deep ball and most of the pass plays ive seen david carr throw are -2 to 4 yard bombs.
