We'll probably pick up a FA tackle and if we keep the 8th pick, we draft AP if available and Levi Brown if not. Kubiak found a new son in Kolb and will draft in 2nd round if still there. Especially if we trade down for more picks. Davis/Williams......only training camp will tell. Lundy.....gone. Taylor will stick around and Dayne resigned. Gado......bye-bye-o.

Your genius claims collapsed in a heap when you pondered whether Kolb was still there at #8 in round 2.

Yes he will be there then, and probably for a round or so after that too.

I really doubt we take Kolb in the 2nd. If we do I will bow to your genius though.
 
I am guessing if you play NCAA football in Houston or Texas that makes you great?

My guy throw a 8 yard come back and throw it in the ground, I am sure he will be around for a while in this draft. He did the same thing in the senior bowl. God love him because I went to UofH, but come on, NOT a 2nd rd guy.

No lower than a 3rd, which is about where he was projected.. And yes, he has made some bad throws, but who hasn't??
 
I could see Kolb as going as high as the top of rd 2 to as low as mid 3rd. He is a good QB who needs time to develop, but I would be excited about Kolb in a Texans uni.

Don't know if anyone remembers the cartoon Pinky & The Brain (it was great don't know why it got canceled) from a few years back. But Casserly reminds me of The Brain and Dom Capers was his Pinky. All of Brains plans for world domination would come crashing down on him.

I agree with you although, that high at the top of the second round might be just a tad too high, because of the small school and "product of the system" wrap (which I disagree with).

As opposed to throwing two passes beyond the line of scrimmage in one game? Or how about a 3 yard pass when 4 is needed for a first down? Can we get a run out of bounds for a sack instead of throwing the ball away?

Oh, all examples of a professional QB, btw. :ok: 1st overall draft pick, too!

Actually, I read in the Chronicle today and Kub was gushing about how much he liked Kolb. I conceed I may be stretching it a bit that he'd go 2nd round. If we trade down for extra picks, I'd wouldn't be surprised to see him taken in that round with a lower 2nd round pick. That's what I meant.......I think......no, I'm sure of it.

Did anybody actually see Kubiak at the combine? Only person I saw was Mike Sherman. I heard about NFL Network having coverage of his interview, but I guess I missed it.
 
He will be available in the 3rd. I don't think it's smart to waste our only 2nd Rd. pick on him, since he had a very "average" combine by most observers. I'm all about picking up the guy in the 3rd though. And yes, whomever mentioned Kubiak being high on Kolb is correct. It's easy to see why a lot of teams like the guy, he's a true team player.

hmm... I'd be surprised if Lundy is gone. He performed well in the preseason, and as well if not better than Gado in the game. He's shown that he can get down the field if our line blocks and open holes for him. He may very well have a break out season next year, considering we should have a better idea of who our starters should be when we start Training Camp.

NOw don't nobody get their panties in a bunch, I'm not saying Lundy is the answer to anything, just saying I don't see him not being on the team this season.

2 times in over Thousands of snaps, thats it,O my gosh did he really do that, lets take him out in the back and shoot him, my Lord Not that! 3yard pass when we need 4, when was that? Were else should he have thrown the ball, on YOUR play you talk about.

Tell your boy Kolb to get his throws up if he wants to make it in this league, O I forgot too, how many balls were behind the wide outs in the combine on the deep out, I counted more then a couple.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd expect an $8 million dollar QB to have an idea where the line of scrimmage is at. It's pretty basic. My apologies if my expectations are too high, tho'.

With regards to running out of bounds for a sack and throwing passes to short for first downs, I'm not going *** for tat. I've been to every home game and it is well known tendencies that DC has, and I'm sure another poster would be glad to provide you with individual examples.

I guess even constructive criticism of your bro' is too much for you? I can only imagine what lengths you're willing to go in order to protect even his shortcomings. Just sounds like excuses to me.

Kolb is not my boy. You were talking down his game, which seems to be your M.O. to tear everyone else down in support of your boy. It's always someone else's fault with you, but that's cool, I know how you roll.

BTW, Kolb is just a college kid, yet DC is a FIVE YEAR VETERAN making stupid rookie mistakes. Must be the offensive line's fault. They aren't Pro Bowlers, and that's what he needs to succeed (according to his supporters). :ok:

An AFC head coach who watched Kolb said, "I didn't realize that kid was this good."....

No matter what they do with David Carr, the Texans are expected to draft a quarterback, probably in the second or third round.

Carr doesnot have control over the reciever running his route 1yrd infront of the first down marker so that would not be his fault its the recievers for not knowing where the first down marker is.

Im not backing Carr for any means just stating the facts

Well, I never mentioned the dump off throws (which is actually a safety valve that has become our no. 1 read...but I digress), and I've never blamed Carr for the offense's design, so not sure if you were responding to me or not.

With regards to a completion short of the first down, I'll admit that WRs can be at fault here, too. But there were many times when other guys were open and DC locked into his first target from the snap (another problem he's be scouted since his college days), and other times he underthrows receivers and they are stopped trying to catch the ball behind them. Hitting them in stride can often give another couple of yards, but it has to be consistent.

But yeah, none of it's his fault, I get it. Never is his fault. :bubble:

I'm not a hater, but I'm not a blind homer, either. I just call it like I see it, and that includes criticism as well as praise.
 
Sounds like gushing to me. He really sounds like he likes the guy. Apparently during the interview, they really bonded.

I realize we've had 16 tons of comments on Carr's play but here's my thoughts on him.

DC has all the physical ability to play the position but his biggest problem is in the pocket. When he gets pressure, he never steps up or moves laterally away from the pressure while keeping his eyes downfield to buy that extra second or so to find an open receiver. More often than not he ducks his head down and by then he's toast. Most of that is just gunshy from all the hammerings he's taken but now it's a matter if he can unlearn those bad habits. Looks like we'll get one more year to find out.
