Sugar Bowl: Notre Dame vs. LSU

Has Landry been late on those plays? Seems like it to me.

yeah I've been saying it for a while. No one wants to hear it. He's a jungle. Looks like Tarzan...plays like Jane. 18 of Dorte Dame has out played both the guys with all the press clippings in my book. Embuckwie ?

Given the opportunity, I would very much select Darius Walker with one of my draft picks. The gentleman possesses the much vaunted extra gear. The young QB, Jamarcus Russell appears to enjoys food to excess.

Is there anyone here who would NOT love to have Russell as our #1 pick? Wow - he looks good!

Are they really calling the Tostitos Bowl "The game of the Century"

Give me a break, Nor Ohio State or Florida could compete with the teams that took the field last year.

Sawargent (sp) seems like a good redzone weapon.

LOL yeah that'd be a gas if the Texans drafted Jeff Samardzija. Watching all the "good spellers" on this board butchering his name would be downright hilarious.

Oh, I be one of the gooderest and will hack that one big time.

ND LOT Harris is doing well, good pass blocker, hasn't alllowed a sack, does a good job of taking his man to the outside. Drives well on his run blocks and releases quickly to get a LB. Appears to bend at the waist to often.

Russell has been awesome. It would be nice to see him in a Texans uniform...
I'm not that impressed with him, or Quinn.

And you guys that want the Texans to draft Russell better get a grip. You really want Vince Young, and Russell is nothing but "sloppy seconds". He would fail here in your eyes, no matter what he did. He would never measure up.

I've had the TV on and the sound down, hows Terry B. doing in the booth? I forgot he was doing color or I would have listened as well out of curiosity.

I think it would be in Russell's best interest to return for his final year.

Yes he has all the tools and is a great prospect, but he does seem a tad raw. Another year on the college level and he could be straight dominant, the #1 ovrl. pick, and much more suited and ready for the pro game.

Really? Props to Texas; they did beat OSU last year and that game launched them toward their championship. In fact though, it was a closely contested come-from-behind victory at the end of the game. OSU played most of the game without Troy Smith as I recall because he violated team rules. "Couldn't compete" is a little over stated; this OSU team is much better offensively than last year's, although their defense isn't as good.

I understand the pride people have in the Texas victory last year, but there are some limits to their greatness.

He said he would have gone to LSU but could not score high enough on ACT!However he always knew where the open receiver was.
:ok:

Actually I did not want Vince Young, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Texans uniform. He's mobile enough to run Kubiak's offense, and has the arm to go downfield. Kubiak said recently one problem we have had this year is only going 3-4 yards every play, and we needed to have the ability to go downfield. Russell's arm is strong enough to do just that, and if he falls to #8, I think there should be strong consideration for him.

There is no doubt in my mind the Texas team of last year would of beat this years OSU team.

Vince simply would not be denied in that game, plus our secondary and ovrl. defense was much better. Last years team was a much better team

After two years I'm still trying to figure out what the big deal is about Brady Quinn.

The famous knock on Bradshaw was that he couldn't spell the word CAT if you spotted him the C and A, but I guess it should gave been ACT if you spotted him the C and A. :D

Well, I can't fight that fact. :)

I haven't heard that kind of confidence since the Miami/OSU championship game of a few years ago. From Miami fans.

Or the Texas/USC game last year. From USC fans.

i can't wait for brady quinn to get to the NFL and get some receivers that actually make seperation from the DB's. good lord. rema mcknight? please. he blows. samardzija is the ONLY weapon he has against quality teams. it's too bad quinn couldn't have been part of this latest draft class so he could come up with talented players around him. it really fascinates me how he's done so well with such a poor supporting cast.

but onto the other players.

laron landry has looked really good, but he played that first touchdown pretty poorly.

jamarcus russell has been just fine. his play isn't that huge of a deal in terms of his draft stock. it's evident that what will get him drafted so high is his measurables. i still hear a ton of things about his work ethic and laziness.

Sorry when your team beats the proclaimed "Best team ever", in their home state, you tend to be pretty confident of any matchup.

Maybe one day the two schools will be able to face off in a title game, which I would love to see, Tressell is a great game planner. Which is why Loyd Carr has got to go, if Michigan wants to have any chance making it back. Loyd Carr is Tressell's jail house punk and constantly gets out coached in big games, which is the reason for their crappy Bowl record of late.

As I understood it at the time, the Miami team my Buckeyes beat was the "best team ever", lol.

It took Ohio State and Texas something like 100 years to meet in the regular season; I too wouldn't mind seeing them in the Championship game a little sooner than that.

If the BCS would go to a playoff they would meet alot more often as both schools are great football programs.

I can't wait until theres a playoff, its only a matter of time before its going to be here and I can't wait, it will be great for college football. College football would rival the NFL.

I have been waiting for playoff system since 1978, I will not be holding my breath!
:aikido:

And i don't wanna see another post about Landry. The only way we take that guy with a first round pick is if we move down ten spots. We don't need three srong safties.

Your *Buckeyes didn't beat that Miami team. 5 turnovers and Miami still won in the 1st overtime. Miami players celebrating back to back Championships, Oh wait there is a flag thrown 10 seconds to late.
