Bench or cut Cook! Somebody has to be accountable. If he doesn't fumble, we score a FG or a TD. Therefore we don't lose on that play at the end.:twocents:

We need to do something at safety also.:brickwall

You can't boil it down to one play or one call - we just got beat. I don't think punishing any one guy will do any good for anybody.

That tackle on Cook was a textbook hit for a fumble. He should have held onto it, but a hell of a lot of players would have spilled that one.

As for safety, we do really need someone who can cover, but who? I think our hands are tied on that till the offseason. That goes for CB too (Dunta can't cover both sides at once). Maybe Wynn can step up and do something in the meantime(?)

cant blame one player for the loss.

We need to quit giving him the ball in important situations like that though, and in the future we need to consider replacing him, since he seems to have a penchant for dropping the ball at the absolute worst time.

Yeah but he has fumbled twice in critical time/field positon of the game. If he benched Carr for TO's he should do the same for Cook.

If our D didnt give up 340 passing yds to a below average NFL QB then this discussion wouldnt be happening.

People fumble. It sucks, but it happens. 2 fumbles in 10 games doesnt sound like enough to bench a guy.

The timing on his fumbles is horrible but our D got murdered by a bottom 5 offense today. That is the story here, not Cook's fumble.

That's true enough - it did look kinda like they picked him out and went after the ball a little harder - but he's not got a history of fumbling and that one play did not lose us the game on its own. For me, this just means don't give him the ball in important positions. He blocked well today and he's usually got good hands. Just don't use him in clutch situations. :twocents:

What he said

Oh my Gosh. Cook is cooked I guess. It wouldn't have anything to do with the Buffalo QB being 3 for 3 with 187 yards passing and 2 TD's with 0 yards rushing in the 1st quarter would it? No, It has to be Cook's fault all by himself... Good Grief...

Agreed. We've got third team tallent starting at several positions for us now. Couple of guys on the defensive line they just signed off the street. Couple of guys drafted high that aren't and haven't delivered in three seasons. Rookie newbie at Rt. Not banging on the new guys just saying. Too much dead wieght for a couple of stars to carry. Pretty obivious to me that you don't leave Petie in a one on one situation with the other teams fastest guy. Thrid team tallent blew the play. Might as well get a grip. It's not going to get any better with Mario banged up.

I noticed today that when he fumbled he was not holding the ball properly. He had both arms underneath the ball, not one below and one above. Did anyone els see this. I think that is only a technique problem that could be solve. I do think that someone MUST be held accountalble for this loss. It doesn't come down to one player. You can blame Carr for the short passes, you could blame Kubiak for the play selection, you could blame AJ for dropping a ball or Chad stanley for the short punt giving the bills good field position. If you're going to blame it on one play or one player, take your pick. The fact is, this is a TEAM loss. That includes the coaching staff.:twocents:

It's enough when it happens twice in three games and costs us two games let alone the fact that he doesn't touch the ball very often...

Cook hasnt cost us either game.

Only someone who doesnt know football would say that his fumbles COST us the game. Yea those fumbles happened at bad times but they didnt lose us the game.

We had 5 minutes to stop the Giants on D & we couldnt do it. Not Cook's fault.

That fumble today happened in the 2nd quarter so it couldnt have blown the game for us.

Both fumbles hurt bad & took points off the board but they didnt lose us the game.

I'm with you. I want Kubiak to call some of his players out. I want someone in the locker room just to blow up to a media person, telling us how's he tired of losing so many football games. I want to see some intensity from the players. I want to see players be made accountable. It's so @#$%^&* frustrating losing close games like this. Heck, just losing in general sucks. I'm tired of it.

We had that guy. I think his name was Jamie Sharper, or something like that. (yes that is sarcasm.)

There's been a lot of people solely blaming Carr for losses in the past. Matter of fact today at the end of the game there was some ***** fan blaming David Carr for this loss. What a j/a.

this is like saying if carr doesnt throw and interception the bills dont score and we win hold everyone accountable not just one particular player.:stirpot:
