Ultimate curse: Texans and the Jags players we acquired @ expansion draft/free agency

GP

Go Texans!
Since it's close to Halloween, let me ask you this:

Is it possible that we are cursed because we tried to jump-start our team with a bunch of Jacksonville Jaguars players when our team went through the expansion draft?

Honestly, it starts with Boselli and then trickles out after him. Gary Walker. Seth Payne. Isn't Weigert a former Jag, too?

So many "foundational" players we acquired and look at us.

Me thinks we did business with the devil (The Jaguars) and the only team that gets better over all this time is the Jags.

It's a curse.

This team could make all the big moves it wants, but we won't improve until the last of the Jaguars bunch is gone. Payne's done. He's the latest former Jags player to go down and I doubt we can justify bringing him back after two season-ending injuries. So we can cross him off the list.

Boselli.

Walker.

Payne.

Who's next? The sooner the better, and I don;t care if ya' think I'm being a bit sadistic about this: Get the JAGS off our team. Now.

That was 5 years ago...no curse...good teams find replacements for their better players since the average career is like 4 years. Expansion or not, we should be able to replace the older players with decent drafting or good FA signings....we have done neither well. Heck, if not for those expansion players we would have won less games.

Could not disagree with you more. Boselli was NOT a stand alone trade. He was part of a deal that allowed us to pick up two very good defensive players. Without Texans taking Boselli the deal would not have been made. Remember our doctor cleared Boselli. Walker was a very good player for 3 years barring his injuries. His new contract put him off the team. Seth Payne. Are you kidding? Was often thought the best player on defense before he went down. Was his age/contract going to be a problem next year? Absolutely. I think you aver reached on this one.:hides:

No.

The ultimate curse is for our left tackle position. It is freaky:

In part:

In the 2002 expansion draft, the Texans took Tony Boselli and not Willie Roaf. Why? Originally Roaf was on the expansion draft list for New Orleans, but was withdrawn after he didn't pass the physical. Boselli passes the physical, the Texans sell a lot of Boselli jerseys, and then he never plays a down for the Texans because of his malpracticed-on shoulder. Roaf ends up playing four more Pro Bowl years with the Chiefs.

The picture for the link also is a part of the curse.

TC , am I remembering wrong? Boselli was the key to getting 2 defensive players from Jags, right? I remember the Roaf deal.

Yup. Just think it is interesting that he passes a physical, but Roaf is taken off the list because he was injured.

The Jags may be our enemy and their fans (in general) can be very annoying, but they are far from being the Devil. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong with this team and it's probably a little of everything, but we aren't cursed.

The only curse bestowed upon this team has already been lifted, we are still feeling its affect however. The dreaded GM curse: Charlie Casserly.

Consipracy theory anybody? The NFL knew Bosseli wouldnt make it and Roaf would, but they decided to stick it to Houston, that must be why we suck, the NFL hates us...much easier to explain.

You're right...the team that was cursed was the Houston OILERS:yikes:

How else could a team choke SOOOOOO many times??!!:crutch:
