My Strategy vs. Dallas

Of course to scoring more points, we MUST get pressure on Drew Bledsoe. Bledsoe makes Daunte look like Michael Vick, but if he is allowed to stand in the pocket totally at ease as too many of our opponents have done he will pick us apart. I know the 'Girls have playmakers on the outside and the risk is the big play, but I say lets hit him a few times - even at the risk of a bomb or dare I say it...a flag and see how he handles it. The knock on Bledsoe going back to his New England days is once he is rattled he is a different player. I understand we have one legitimate cover corner, but Richard Smith has to figure out a way to get people in Bledsoe's face or it going to be a long afternoon.

He has less than two weeks to figure it out. :shades:

lets not start this again. but the idea of pressure is right, i would rather we gamble and get burned on one big play then slowly bend and giving up 8 minute TD drives as against Washington.

Geez, there ought to be a MB soap opera--As the Pendulum Swings. Folks--Dunta has been up and down this year. He didn't go from top 5 CB in the NFL to Dexter McCleon level in 4 games.

Confucious say--wow it is hard being in the middle and trying not to get trampled by the herd running past as the wind turns.

Wow, dude let me ask u this who do u think?! I mean really u gotta start thinking before u type those keys buddy come on man.:tease:

Oh yea its Dunta if u really must know.

I would go there with you...But I see it's only your 5th post so i'll let you slide...

He's been more down than up...

Now thats comedy...

NEW AVATAR ALERT!!!!!!!!!

The key is to stop the run and Carr and the offense have to start clicking and score more than 21 points.

Defensive pressure would be great. Disrupt Bledsoe. He gets good when in a rhythm.

The Dallas defense is what scares me. They will be putting a lot of pressure on our offensive line. Good time to get that running game workin.

I think one thing that is an absolute is to run downhill at Dallas. They are extremely fast from side to side. Stretch plays won't be very effective I don't think. Some teams have had success just going hat on hat and pounding them. That is what I would do if the score allows.

Defensive pressure? ABSOLUTELY! Gotta stop JUlius too.

All of that is obvoius though

Defense: House of Pain rules! Everyone near the ball puts a hat on guy with ball. Make them feel it. Receivers are chucked hard EVERY play. We blitz a safety or nickle corner repeatedly. We constantly rotate our players and keep banging. Dallas has to feel the pain of every yard. We will be coming off bye week and should be more fresh. Dunte mirrors TO. Lewis Sanders and a safety focus on Glenn. Linebackers have to punish Dallas RB's and help hit receivers within 5 yds. Stick 'em & then stick 'em again.

Offense: Use tight ends & full back for 3-4 yard passes. Walters has to be productive from slot. Carr gets 85 to 90 yards on boot legs. We get 4 field goals, one td by air and another on ground. 26- 24 Texans. This has to be a physical, bust them in the chest pads day.

Two things scare me about this game. C.C. Brown and Glenn Earl. They bite way too hard on the play actions and Bledsoe to Glenn usually comes in the form of a play action.

We definitely need to lay off on the play-action. We need to get our DLine involved in Run Defense....... so far, they look too worried about getting sacks. Since they've all got a sack now, I hope they can get to playing smart football, start shutting down the run, and sniffing out those screens. If JJ wants to act like he's pass blocking, they need to run over him, put him on the ground on the way to the QB.

We should put our best Corner on Glenn.... But I don't think Sanders can run with him, so I think we should put Buchanon on him. Tell Buchannon that's all he has to do. keep the ball out of Glenn's hands. Don't worry about the running game(keep him off the playfake), just keep the ball out of Glenn's hands. Stay outside, force him in to the Safeties.

I'm not too worried about JJ.

I don't think our LBs can run with Fasano/Witten. So we've got to make sure we jam them at the line, with a DE or LB, and have help over the top.

Offensively, against Demarcus Ware, MarcusSpears, Tnewman, & Anthony Henry..... our best bet, would be to use timing routes, especially to open the game. Be patient with the small gaines, Split out TEs out wide, and either get a mismatch on a nickel back, or take their safeties out of the run game.

Just the fact that somebody can say this, and its actually a true statement, shows just how far this defense and team has to go. I feel what you're saying though, they're playing that Colts-type defense where the ends head straight for the QB and if they happen to tackle the running back on the way there it's a bonus. Apparently Mario was having trouble controlling gaps (the "communication" issues from week 3) so maybe they have decided to let him be an athlete. However, anything done against Miami doesn't count, he can celebrate again when he gets his first sack after dominating the lineman in front of him...

Now thats a funny avatar! The question is, how do i get that in a sticker? I would love to put that on a couple bumpers I know of.

This will be a tough game for the team. They are coming off a win (which is never a bad thing) but it worries me that the Cowboy's strength (passing attack) is going against the Texan's weakness (defense against the pass).

I agree that the teams best bet is to get some pressure on Bledsoe because he has proven he can be pressured into mistakes.

I hope a lot of the fans make the road trip!
