Texans Player Transaction DISCUSSION Thread

I would feel sad for the Browns if he works out. They've given us so much, and we've given them so...so little. (I have a very bad feeling about Watson's shoulder.) [Bad for the Browns fans, not for the dirtbag]

Jacob Phillips has an almost unbelievable injury history.

In 2020, week 1 and again in week 5, he tore his MCL and missed 6 games.

In 2021, he ruptured his biceps tendon at the beginning of the season which required surgery, and for which he missed all but the last 4 games.

In 2022, he missed most of of the season with a ruptured left pectoral tendon which required surgery.

He missed all last season with a torn right pectoral tendon suffered in preseason for which he required surgery

Lonnie Ballentine and Bennie Joppru consider him injury prone!

I guess there’s only two ways left for him to go…..up or out. Hopefully, he gets an up season in before his career is over.

Under the radar, former Notre Dame big body WR & 7th rd gem draft steal by the Rams now a Houston Texan. Love what I see out of Ben on the tape

Nick & front office are on fire 🔥 bet they caught CJ reaction on bleecher report draft show when Ricky Pearsall was snagged in the 1st rd. This addresses that with next years 6th. Gotta love it, Let’s Go!!!!

Comparing this guy to Pearsall? Ok...whateves..

If he's going to make it to the 53, and I'd say he's got a pretty good shot, he has to be a jack of all trades. ST ace, 6th or 7th WR (depending on roster construction position they list him at), and spot duty as a FB/HB type. That's his ticket.

He's a different guy than Woods. While I still think he'll likely be cut to clean up cap space, it wouldn't shock me if they keep Woods, either. There's a ton of flexibility in how they go about the group on offense.

Not specifically the player, but his hands & position. Unlike Pearsall he comes with Super Bowl ring which he contributed to in all four post season games 😉

I can't foresee any circumstance where their 7th round pick is worth more than our 6th round pick
Depends on how much Skowronek contributes on ST's. Potentially Skowronek and a 7th is worth more than a 6th. Particularly a late 6th

Love this post.

He doesn't run a 4.41 like Pearsall. But he's a better blocker.

Interesting to note DeMeco saw him 2x/year when he was DC of 49ers.

"We’re excited to add more depth to our wide receiver position and more competition," Ryans said following the first day of rookie minicamp. "Ben is a tough player. I’ve played against him a couple of times, and he’s a true competitor. He plays the game the right way, so I’m excited to add his physicality and his playmaking ability to our team."
