Playoffs 2023 Season: Wild Card Weekend

Rams vs Lions will resemble a basketball game, with less defense. The Lions have put up 30+ points in 9 games. The Rams have averaged 28 points on offense since their week 10 bye. Who has the ball last? I think it's McVay and Stafford. Rams 37-34 over the Lions.

Jordan Love is putting on a master class of QB play. I was a little iffy on whether he would be the guy, but today erases all doubt. Bart Starr, Favre, Rodgers…and now Love is next in line to be a stud at QB.

as well as Stroud played, Love has been even more impressive. And that’s no knock on CJ. He was sensational. But Love has a perfect passer rating.and that’s the eye test too. He hasn’t made a single obvious mistake and has absolutely shredded the Cowboys vaunted secondary.

anyone up for a Stroud vs. Love SB?
I don't want our defense going against Love & Jones.

I always thought cowboys fans were being too hard on Dak…but man..this is pretty bad.

On the other hand………I’m here for the laughs :littlelol: :littlelol:
He's a poor man's Donovan McNabb. Puts up HOF numbers during the regular season, but craps the bed in clutch moments. The reason why the Eagles reached the NFC as much as they did was, because back then the entire team didn't wet the bed which the Cowboys do year after year.. approaching multiple decades.

There is a entire house cleaning coming to Arlington.. FFS they almost killed Jimmy at halftime, I was waiting for EMTs to rush in.

Well he did sit behind Romo so having a great regular season and then choking as fast as possible in the post season has kind of become a Dallas QB tradition.

I only compared Dak and McNabb together, because of their similar career paths, not skin color.. Romo was a choker too, butt he didn't win 12 three straight seasons or reach 4 straight NFC championship games. If you want to throw Romo in the "does not have the playoff gene" bin.. by all means do, none of them did have the playoff do or die factor.. Hopefully Stroud does. 😁👍

Love: 16/21 272 YDS 3 TD 157.2 rating
Stroud: 16/21 274 YDS 3 TD 157.2 rating

Yeah the score only got as close as it did because Packers pulled their starters to early. They dominated Dallas as bad as we did Cleveland. God everything about that sentence felt good to type.
Dak looked about as worthless as Flacco up until garbage time in the 4th. 40 million a year for Dak, but he's on his last year of that contract in 2024. They did restructure a bunch of his money, so he will be hitting the Cowboys cap for the next 3 years. Love to see that happen to other teams!

You mean like the Browns and Watson. :shades:

yeah I saw that…Strahan’s reaction had me in stitches tho lol

This continued failures of the Cowboys begins and ends with Jerry Jones. Jerry Jones, the owner who got tired of watching Jimmy Johnson get all the credit for the Cowboys dominance and success…..so he got rid of Jimmy and found a dummy in Barry Switzer to step in as HC, so Jerry could finally get his hands dirty in building the Cowboys. Barry won a SB on the coattails of what Jimmy had left behind….once that was done, so was Barry and the Cowboys each and every year since. In the end, Jerry Jones is the problem and should sell his team b/c he has no ducking clue, after all this time behind the wheel, as to what he’s doing.

He will never sell the team because A: it makes to much money even while losing and B: its his favorite toy and if he didn't have it to play with then he wouldn't have any reason to get up in the morning.

What did he do wrong the last two years? I know this is McCarty's m.o. but... he's not the one throwing pick 6s in playoff games.

I bet Jerry is going to fire McCarty & I think that's going to be a mistake. They need, imo do something to fix Dak.

Is it too early to celebrate that the chump Brandon Cooks is one and done in the playoffs while the team he wanted away from continues to divisional?
The main thing I took away from that is he would be WR1 here. He's WR3 there. We'd probably still be wondering how good Niico could be had we not traded Cooks.

We need to get a lot better at the skilled positions.

Dak isn’t suddenly going to become something he isn’t. It’s time for the Cowboys to find his replacement. Maybe a change of scenery would be great for both sides.

But that rarely happens, a top 10 QB let go. I mean it's happened a lot lately; Watson, Wilson, Stafford, Goff .. but I'd have a hard time doing it. Chances of the Cowboys finding a replacement while they're drafting in the 20s.

Be easier to "fix" Dak while they still have the talent to win.

Dak might win MVP. I think those votes are in. Like his predecessor, Romo, Dak is king of the regular season. Once the playoffs come, his carriage turns into a pumpkin. He’s damn good until it counts. Some guys are wired that way, and you don’t know until you know and when you know, it’s too late. I know that’s a lot of knows, ya know?

it’s too soon to declare with 100% knowledge, but the early returns strongly suggest CJ is the opposite, and that he has that it gene that the great ones have. Those guys are at their best when the chips are down and they can carry a team on their backs when it matters most. They are the Alfa male that can bring multiple championships to a team. See Brady, Tom.

Gotta disagree here. Sure Stroud would have made Cooks look good, but Nico took over the WR1 role this season. He had more yards and tds this season than ANY season Cooks has had.

And that’s not even factoring in Tank.

PS: Would the Texans have even drafted Tank with Cooks on the roster? Addition by subtraction there.

That's part of my complaint. With Cooks as our WR1 I don't think we'd have drafted Tank. I know it's hard to say, Nick had limitations to work around, but I don't know. Seeing Cooks as the third WR option in Dallas irks me.

Can't wait to see the Packers @ 49ers. I want to see how badly that was Dallas shooting themselves in the foot & how much that was Greenbay dominating them.
