Let’s start with the Division:
Jaguars (2) We’re 8 -0 against them in the last 4 years.
Titans (1) split
Colts (1) we’re not losing both games like we did last season.
Bears - they are not a good team. They are trying to find their way too.
Chargers- We handed them a good old fashioned butt whipping last season. I don’t see why we couldn’t beat them again.
Eagles are solid. But that’s a winnable game
Commander will be another winnable game.
Giants are another team trying to find their way. Winnable game.
Dolphins is a winnable game.
And finally the Browns without the Chump will be winnable.
That’s 11 games right there. And because I can’t stand Dallas, I will put them on that list as well. You do know they don’t have any top notch receivers and Elliot is on the decline.
That totals to 12 winnable games.
Now, I'm going to back up what
@Texansballer74 said. It's not being "Optimistic", because he doesn't think we WILL win that many. Did he say we WOULD win that many? No. He just said they are winnable. Much like saying, "we have a chance in these 12 games, but not really in the other 5".
I don't think we will beat the Colts twice, but I think if we are going to beat them this season, the 1st game gives us the best chance. However, if the Colts have their playoff spot locked up, when we play them at the end of the season, they may just sit their starters, and give the Texans a win there.
The Jags are the Jags. We've swept them the last 4 seasons. We are better this season, so we should sweep them again.
We always play the Titans tough. If we had a better defense last season, we would have swept them. I see no reason we can't split with them this season.
The Broncos are better this season since they added Wilson, but they will be coming off of a Monday Night game against Seattle. I expect them to beat Seattle pretty bad. There is a chance for a let down by the Broncos after that game, so that is the best time for the Texans to play them. I still don't think the Texans win this game, but anything can happen, and it just might.
The Bears in the 3rd game is very winnable. They've got Justin Fields, but he wasn't that great last year. I find it hard to say the Bears will be the better team, because I think the Texans will be better.
San Diego, I mean LA, ahhh hell...The Chargers. We beat them, in their house, with a terrible run game and a QB that was just starting to figure things out. I understand they were missing people because of Covid, but so were we. I think our whole Oline was 2nd and 3 stringers. This season, they have to come here, and we should have a much improved running game, an improved defense, and an improved QB. I think this game could go either way.
The Raiders? Any given Sunday, right? I don't think so. I'm not a big Derek Carr fan, but I think they are just better. We might be able to keep it close though, depending on how much we've improved.
The NFC LEast? Jalen Hurts, Daniel Jones, and who?
- The Eagles may have a better overall team, but I'm not sold on Hurts. This is a winnable game, if not a win.
- The Giants with Daniel Jones, is very winnable, and should be a win.
- The Communists, should just be a win.
- The Texas Yankees, that team up north that Jerrah runs...I'm not a Dak fan, and I think Zeke's best days are behind him, so this will also be a winnable game, and since it's the in-state rivalry, this game could go either way.
The Phins. Hmmm. They have the Cheetah now, so that makes it tougher, but they also have Tua. I don't think Tua is very good, and Miami may just go after a new QB after this season. Winnable game? Yeah, but it's really a toss up. If Tua can't get the ball to Hill, the Cheetah can't beat us. I have a feeling this will be a big turn-over day for our defense.
The Brownies. If WD40 plays, it's a different team. If he doesn't play, it's a very winnable game. We showed we could beat them last season when they had Baker. If Tyrod hadn't got hurt, we probably win that game. Mills coming in cold just wasn't ready yet. I don't know how much their defense has improved, but even so, if WD40 doesn't play, I think we win this one.
The Chiefs? I don't think so. They lost Hill, but still have a lot of weapons. I would like to say this will be close, but I don't think so. We're just not on their level yet.
When I think about our division, I'm not scared. I just don't think Matty Ice is going to be as good for Indy as they hope he'll be. I think he'll have some good games, and the rest of the team is good enough for them to probably win the division, but they are beatable. The Titans are falling off. Tannehill isn't getting it done, and by the end of the season, Willis may end up being the starter, but do they really have any good WR's after letting Brown go? In Jacksonville, all of their hopes are on the golden child, but he's never really had to deal with adversity. He's good when everything around him is working, but can he make the team better? That's yet to be seen.
All in all, the Texans have a chance to have a better record than anyone expects them to have, and if all goes well, may even make the playoffs. However, we're Texans fans, and we know it never all goes well in Houston.
