Head Coach Candidate (Lovie Smith Hired) 2/7/22

If this is accurate. Could one of the posters who think Easterby's influence is overstated and exaggerated by fans or he has no influence explain this?
Like you said, if this is accurate.

If McCown is made the HC I’ll believe Cal is still more involved than he should be.

I’m already concerned with Caserio’s involvement in Gannon’s staff. I understand if the GM wants an offense based on a system he’s worked with for 20 years, but you’ve got to be able to adapt

Everyone pray to the XXXChurch to have the Manning’s buy this fustercluck, pronto….

So, McCown checks all the boxes and Gannon does not, wants a voice in his coaching staff. And then there is Janice. Things that make you hhhmmmm. Wants to move on from Romeo and Lovie? Inquiring minds want to know. What we know is Jack does have Cal's ear.

I'm beginning to come around to y'alls way of thinking.

Cal lied, if McCown becomes the next HC.

Or he forces Gannon to give in and accept top down control. If both refuse to give in to the other, then what other choice does Caserio have?
He can go back to interviewing. Caldwell & Frazier may accept a few concessions after another hiring season is about to pass.

Mayo & Bowles might be interested

But, but, but, I thought the Pastor wasn’t in on football decisions anymore?
Impossible to imagine a world anywhere else where Jack would have this much input about a profoundly basic football choice
Cal needs to support his GM. Or just get rid of him and he and Easterby can run the show
And this is the reason we have a problem with Easterby being around. He shouldn’t even have a say in the matter. Let alone an equal voice to the GM. It’s ridiculous.
jack? Jack who? Only Jack I know is the one who steelb says is just a culture coach and doesn’t get involved otherwise.
This doesn’t make any darn sense. Why does he even have a voice in the matter. If true!

Like I said earlier, this organization does crap butt backwards. Dude is not qualified to make a decision like that and McCown isn’t qualified either.

Cal and Momma McNair are wrong for not learning from their previous mistakes.

Easterby's inputs as to staff hirings are solely opinions he has "offered." They no longer are taken into serious consideration as to final decisions.

You dont have to adapt when your the boss. You succeed or fail with your vision when your the boss. You listen to others but ultimately you make the final call.

a head coach should be a leader among men he coaches and to guide them and coach them

thats why i said flores seems like a no brainer i think our current and future players will Like and flock to him

Is there a plethora of coaches out there he can pluck to run the EP system?

I don't care who they hire, the teams a mess and will remain a mess thru the upcoming season. I'm just hoping it's an improved mess.

Cal has the breaking vote between him and Caserio.

This has been the model from the jump…..even before Easterby and with Bob McNair…..that is how it has always been if I’m not mistaken. If Smith wanted something or someone and Kubiak/BoB wanted something else, they would take it to BoB McNair and he would be the tie breaker.

Wanna say I remember hearing something about how this played out during the Kubiak era when Richard Smith was fired. Rick wanted to bring in someone else, Kubiak wanted his buddy both went to McNair & he sided with Kubiak & Frank Bush was brought in. A few years later, when Bush was fired a similar thing happened but this time McNair sided with Smith and they eventually brought in Wade.

sounds like Easterby has the juice
dude's opinion is strong enough to force the owner to break a tie w/the GM
how is that not alarming given his resume*?

*the real one or even the fake one he lied on

could be…or maybe it’s only entering into the convo b/c NC and Gannon can’t/have yet to get all the details hashed out. I wanna believe that if NC does get that worked out with Gannon, he just makes the call himself.

The Texans were linked Daboll and Eberflus last year and they know McDaniels, so one or the other didn't want any part of the Texans process again. Leftwich, Bowles, Mayo, Ryans of course I don't have a real clue as to why they didn't interview, but it is interesting they are all minority candidates and the Texan were bleeping around with Hines Ward to satisfy the Rooney rule.

More broadly we know almost nothing about any of these dudes as candidates for head coaching outside of :

1) Their side of the ball performed well.
2) We are told by some source about their leadership, communication, etc,

Speaking of names what has happened to Eric Bieniemy?

ask a question and get an answer

There are pictures of Jack Easterby being front and center in the draft room, sidelines and press conferences (still no pictures of him in the cafeteria). Cal has made him Vice President of Football Operations and has said Easterby occupies one of the all-important four seats in the Kirby Boardroom. To think that Jack Easterby has no say or input, is an exercise in denial and naivete. This brain trust looks to Jack Easterby as their voice of reason.
^^^^THIS^^^^

McCown allows Caserio and Easterby to continue to do what they want to do without interference, feedback or interruption. Micromanage, is what they do best. Remember not one of them is qualified to do what they are doing. All three have zero job experience.

I tend to take people at their word until I have a reason not too and not read things into situations.

You have to admit, it’s very plausible that Nick & Jack wanted McCowen to replace Kelly as OC. Then in a year or two replace Culley. It’s sad but true, also sad a lot of members are catching on to their twisted, warped reality :smiliepalm:

I want to know why Pep Hamilton chose not to pursue a higher position elsewhere only to stay at his position with the Texans. Is he that locked into Davis Mills?

Tried without luck...did decline to interview with the Panthers

In February 2019, Hamilton joined the XFL's DC Defenders to be their head coach and general manager for the 2020 XFL season.[8]

He has actually been a "professional" head coach also with s 3-2 record

I apologize to everyone for not being more outraged that McCown has gotten this far in the interview process.

This is the most ideal scenario.

Caserio can wear the headset and work with Pep during the games. Lovie and Romeo are there for added HC advice. And McCown gets experience as an OC and pray with Easterby in their free time.

Someone tell Cal.
