BADBOY'S 2021 college players to watch

Update: Thibodaux not playing and I think that's smart on the coaches. Seven Banks needs to impress! Oregon CB Mykael Wright had a stupid penalty on a hit out of bounds in the first quarter.
Oregon by 7.
How about that for competitiveness?

Oregon's Mikael Wright allows Ohio State receiver to run right by him for a touchdown! This dude is dropping in the rankings as I speak hopefully.

Funny…there could be some QB’s falling from the pre-season CFB watch list. I’m still far too underwhelmed with the 2022 NFL QB Prospects to think the Texans should be throwing a RD1 at one of these guys.

I’m sticking with defensive players as my top priority targets. Hamilton (DL- ND) and Leal (DB- A&M) are doing just fine. I think their stock is remaining plenty high after the first 2 weeks.

If Jordan Reid has year I think he will I expect he will be extended. Lonnie has 2022 to make name so I wouldn't go safety until late UNLESS a DW uhaul backs up to NRG.

Why not? :brando:

He can shed blocks or avoid the block altogether to get to the ball carrier.
He diagnoses plays very well.

The better the guys in front of him, the better he'll be.
Did you look at his stats? Seemed horrible to me from a guy playing in a small school Division. Those guys I expect to have overwhelming stats. I don't think I would consider him even for an undrafted free agent. Discussion is good though.

Fordham played only 3 games last year due to Covid.

He played in 2 games, with 22 tackles.

League Defensive Player of the Year prior year.
Sounds good to me.
Still needs to see him play more this year, but that game was great.

Okay you win but two games is not a whole lot to base an evaluation on and defensive player of the year in that League again is not thrilling.

If he remains healthy and productive......his coming out party might be in the Senior Bowl and his Pro Day. Dude has some pipes and it'll be interesting to see how many times he can push 225 lbs. His 40 time will also be a factor. I like rooting for the underdog.

There's word he has the athletic ability to move outside to corner as well.....not a one-trick pony.

Cincinnati freshman left tackle number 75 allows Ritter to be sacked causing a fumble and then the left tackle tries to pick up the fumble with one hand and gets it knocked back several yards. I think this will be a teaching moment later this week for number 75.

Oh man Oklahoma soph DJ Graham from Weller high in Texas just made crazy one hand INT with under seven minutes left in game. Went high rolling as he hit. Just amazing!

Rattler for some reason doesn’t excite me.
Agree
Shermari Jones RB on Coastal Carolina is having a day. 145 yds avg 9/att with still a quarter to play.
I don't know much about him do you? His average per Rush is pretty good it is a small school schedule which reduces the impact for me. He also is good at kick returns. 6'1" 220 is big back.

I don’t know much about him either, but he has definitely piqued my interest. From the quick research I’ve done he’s a do it all back (including blocking).
I’d be willing to spend a late rounder on him if he continues to perform this season.

CC prospects

Have they established a round projection for this LT? If that assessment was written by unbiased eyes…..then I’m going to watch him a lot closer. I guess his real coming out party could be in the Senior Bowl. If, based on his school (Northern Iowa), folks place him as a RD3 or RD4 talent, then I could only hope the Texans possess an early RD3 pick And he could call Houston home.

Well, Penning is on the radar has a pretty high pick. As you said, the Senior Bowl, combine, and workouts will determine just how high. The Athletic's Dane Brugler has Penning ranked at #31 in his early top 50 college players.

31. Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa (6-7, 329)
The only FCS-level prospect to make my initial top 50, Penning is a massive blocker with the attitude to match. The Iowa native looks comfortable on an island and uses his 35-inch arms to steer defenders clear of the pocket. His former teammate Spencer Brown was a third-round pick in the 2021 draft class, but scouts think Penning could go higher.

One Source has him ranked late round one but I cannot find him in the top 80 on two other sources. Just someone to be aware of and as you say possibly in third or much later. I just do not see us using a early pick for offensive line with what we have now.

If Watson and Tunsil (potentially) could return multiple RD1 picks in 2022 and additional RD1’s in 2023 and/or 2024….it could go a long way in helping Caserio rebuild this franchise. 2022 could be the draft load up on the trenches.

I think pressure builds on other teams and none on Caserio to move DW. I think at some point Stephen Ross realizes Watson could be bringing Ws now. If posted info is true if indicted, a trial may not begin until 2023 allowing DW to play for two years.

Notre Dame QB Jack Coan 6'3' 223 looking good early vs Wisconsin. Transferred from today's opponent after coming back from injury and Badgers continued with his back up. 2019 14 games: 236/339 @70% 2727 @ 8 yards per 18:5 ratio.
2021 three games 63% 849 yards @ 8 per 8:2 doesn't include stats from today against Wisconsin.

Derek Stingley Jr. suffered an ankle injury during LSU practice and will miss the game against Mississippi State and possibly more. The boot doesn’t mean he’ll miss a long stretch, but it goes to show that the injury isn’t a minor concern. There is also the chance Stingley shuts it down and prepares for the NFL Draft where he’s projected to be a top-10 pick.

Not even halftime and Oklahoma fans are calling for the backup quarterback. Rattler just sacked with score at 7 to 7 with 2 minutes left in the halftime.

67 yard TD by Isaiah Spiller get A&M first TD of game. 10-17 sheesh. Arkansas Trey Williams 6'5" 255 outplaying top 10 Demarvin Leal, IMO

Trey Williams is becoming an interesting prospect indeed. Solid OLB or DE with another 10 lbs on his frame.

I never saw his motor stop and he kept banging heads with the opponents big boys.

2 players I expected more from was Leal and in his game NDs Hamilton. I'm leaning towards Brandon Joseph lower a bit in draft. Also Singletary out and perhaps preparing for NFL bucks, Andrew Booth would look good across from X on our team.

Brandon Joseph would be decent. I also like Jaquan Brisker out if Penn St. I think he’d pair well with Reid.

Love Booth! But unless a trade is completed to gain more capital I don’t know if we’d get him.

This guy is the reason why Brown (Who's also very talented.) played RT last yr.

Would you trade laremy tunsil for the Jets 1 if it was a top-five pick?

Why would you create a hole at LT?

You would be hoping to draft a LT that you could only hope would be as good as Tunsil is right now.
