It does appear to be deep and I certainly hope you are correct. I was hoping to see Howell have a really good year.Big fan of Burkhead. Do everything back that will more than likely take Buddy Howell’s job as ST ace RB. This RB room is deep!

This signing makes it quite a bit harder for Scottie Phillips to make the team but I still like the signing. None the less I am a Scottie Phillips fan.Big fan of Burkhead. Do everything back that will more than likely take Buddy Howell’s job as ST ace RB. This RB room is deep!
Yea remember seeing him in recent games with the Patriots, tough back. And BTW I got NP in being compared in any way toI don’t care which team Burkhead is coming from......he’s a hard-nosed player who comes to play everyday. Nice sign Caserio.
I prefer T Pats or Patriots Texans Southeast AKA patseesAnother great signing for the Houston Patriots.
I know we restructured David Johnson’s contract to a one year deal.
What kind of affect will his contract have on the Texans if they cut him? Dead money hit?
Board explosion? Calls to fire Caserio?

Wait...
I'd be concerned that the original Southies might beat us upCan we just be the southies? I hear they're a tough bunch.
No gif for this guy. Hell though we must be a running team this year...........
maybe a better play action offense?Given the situation at QB what else could we be?
Mayb

Good when healthy describes most of the backs.I like the Ingram and Lindsey signings but this one doesn't do much for me. Burkhead is good when he's not hurt, but it seems to me like he misses at least 6 games every year.

I like Howell too. Haven’t ever seen him play during the season but those very brief preseason carries showed to me at least a guy that runs big N-S with some speed. Hopefully the new emphasis on competition starts to clean up our roster. It does appear to be deep and I certainly hope you are correct. I was hoping to see Howell have a really good year.
Competitive group, he won’t make the team
If healthy he will
Ah but do we have a RB that can walk 5 feet getting clobbered? With a 17 game schedule RBs who can still walk over five feet have a chance of making a lot of teams.

Yeah he should have been a basketball playerThis team could really use ole reliable Ron Dayne.
If you need 1 yard, he’ll get you 2!
If you need 4 yards, he’ll get you 2!
And if an OLman needed an Achilles heel taken out he could do that too. edit it was Charles Spencer, promising OL I believe ran up his leg, broke it, career endedThis team could really use ole reliable Ron Dayne.

What's the situation at QB? We've seen worse & still made the playoffs (not saying we're going to make the playoffs, just that we've seen worse).Given the situation at QB what else could we be?
If the OL do their job, I'll take the over on Ingram & Lindsay. Heck, Burkhead too for that matter. So we now have David Johnson, Lindsey, Ingram, and Burkhead as "name" rbs in addition to a few others?
17 game season.
Emphasis on bruiser ol.
Dw out along with the passing game.
We're loading up to run. It's not going to be sexy. It's going to be a 3 yards and a cloud of dust kinda season.
(...I hope it's at least 3 yards.)
We'll be passing, just mostly short to intermediate. Probably close to 50/50, maybe just a tad favoring the run. Also, remember, Phillip Lindsay averaged 5.4 ypc his all-pro rookie season in 2018.So we now have David Johnson, Lindsey, Ingram, and Burkhead as "name" rbs in addition to a few others?

Our offense will be different from last year's Watson Offense, but we have the makings to field a very respectable offense.
I think DJ averaged about 4.5 ypc last year. Trade value? If the OL do their job, I'll take the over on Ingram & Lindsay. Heck, Burkhead too for that matter.
I can't see 4 RBs on the GameDay roster.
Does anyone know the cap ramifications if we cut/trade Ingram?
Of the 4 I'd rather keep Lindsay, Burkhead, & Ingram. But I don't see them cutting Dj

Quite true but if a team falls behind by 10 or more, the running game could be a non factor. The added receiving value of DJ and Burkhead would hopefully help in those moments.Assuming our defense isn't outright atrocious, scores will be closer. Time of possession will mean more. Special teams will mean more. Turn overs will mean more. Game management by the coaching staff will be far more important.

Remember how excited you were when Bob McNair sent the plane to pick up Ed Reed?I don’t care which team Burkhead is coming from......he’s a hard-nosed player who comes to play everyday. Nice sign Caserio.
That's just cruel right there..Remember how excited you were when Bob McNair sent the plane to pick up Ed Reed?

Eh... dude is not ready to play now. He's at OTAs in street clothes. & I believe I heard $2M guaranteed. So a bit of a head scratcher those two together.Good signing for the Texans. Nick Caserio is killing it.
Rex is a great Swiss army knife type RB/WR/small Hback. He is like a Wes Welker. A do it all and over achieve at his position

4 RBs at 4 games each..dinomite!!! Game for PS guy...Eh... dude is not ready to play now. He's at OTAs in street clothes. & I believe I heard $2M guaranteed. So a bit of a head scratcher those two together.
So... Dj, Ingram, Lindsay, & Burkhead all missed multiple games due to injury last season. Burkhead is not ready to play today.
I'm excited about what could be. Not to thrilled with what is.
