So what if this is about Watson wanting to get his gf to NYC or Miami? Fire Easterby & Watson going to find another reason to be mad because he never said it was about Easterby.
I never said that Watson said his situation was about Easterby. I said that Watson's situation is about the frachise being run beyond stupid which Easterby is only a part of. And again, forget about Watson and what Watson wants. AJ made it clear that the locker room has negative feelings about Easterby. Once the McNairs learned that Easterby is a team culture problem, they should have let him go. More importantly, it never should have gotten to the point where AJ had to tweet about Easterby. The fact that Easterby played a role in all of the disfunction the last couple of years should have been enough for ownership to cut ties. It leaves the appearance that they don't want a fresh start but more of the same and that they don't get it. I can't think of a single good reason that Easterby should still be with the team and the fact that the McNairs don't think this way says a lot IMO.

Perhaps but on various 610 programs he has been almost rude with the station's hosts including getting yelled at by Seth Payne last week because of McClain's stance on Watson and his "inside info". The incident with Seth was over Easterby making decisions and OBrien signing off on those. He has been insistent #4 going nowhere so it makes me wonder.
McClain has been wrong since the 70s. All he cares about is Baylor and Golden Corral

Really? I need to listen to these shows more often. That would have been hilarious.

I also should mention the apparent view of ownership and their stance on hot button issues also is surely playing a part. We know where the McNair’s stand, and both Mr. Ross and Mr. Johnson of the Dolphins and Jets respectfully are much more aligned with Watson and Mulugheta’s views. Again, fair or not, the player empowerment era is here and viable. This gets back to why certain guys just do not align with what the organization does and why they are moved.
How do you think NY's Woody Johnson's alleged racist and sexual comments will be considered by Deshaun?

What do you think about the Salem witch hunts?

I guess we just have a difference of opinions. I'd want Janice to replace Cal as chairman & CEO if he placates to this thing, & fires Easterby because of it.

What's Easterby bringing to the team and would you have let him go?

Watson's choice and canidate picks should be of very little importance.

He is the QB currently and has no idea what type of system he would be best in. Nick is trained to know if he is a fit or not. Plus, Watson has all but requested a trade. So, his .02 cents is about all his opinion should be. He needs to get over himself and play or get out of town.

I don't know why Cal made him interim GM or VP of football operations. But if I'm Cal, it's what I did. The only thing I'm upset with Easterby about is the contracts given to Mercilus, Zach Cunningham, Randall Cobb, & Eric Murry.

But McNair seems to be good with that & I can't imagine they players being upset about players getting theirs.

A stern butt chewing may be in order. Barring him from future contract negotiations may be in order. But fire him? I mean I believe he's a big reason we got Caserio, a guy he wanted for a long time. So I'd have a hard time firing him for some BS that I know he didn't do.

All of this is fine with me. But this is a football team. Let's get some football people to run the football team...JMO

You're right, we have a difference of opinions. Anyone in the room for the Hopkins trade alone should've been let go to let everyone know that the stupid days are in the past IMO. And I agree with you that McNair seems to be good with that -- and that is what I said -- they don't get it. Somehow they look back at the last couple of years and think that they didn't do half bad. And that brings me right back to here.

We don't have to like it, but Easterby is as much a football guy as Mike Mayock (who has done an infinitely better job than Easterby) but the guy has been employed by football teams for a long time.

Besides, from where I'm sitting it looks like we've been trying to get Caserio to be that guy & we've got him.

All we can do is see if Cal backs out & let the football guy do football stuff.

& that includes hiring the HC. If Watson or his agent has been in contact with the team & told them he just wants out, I hope they hire the guy they want & not a guy just to make Watson happy.

& I can't believe that guy is either Frazier or Bieniemy.

oh man. I couldn't afford a slide rule and had to keep borrowing one. The teacher did not have enough for us poor students...so often just did without. That worked well---

you speculated what those teams would do and you call me out? lol

That post was typical of hypocrite

This is Janice McNair's team and she's a big Easterby fan. I wonder if Watt said something to Janice about Easterby when he got BOB fired.

Yeah because if it is "culture" and whom McNairs support politically, why would he want Ross? I still think it is about relocation for mas $ and NY or Miami over H'town vibe

:smiliepalm::brickwall::wacko:
Are you drunk? I have no idea what you are talking about. People are so wrapped up in this drama they are taking any bread crumbs they get and running with it. Everything being discussed and that's been reported is pure speculation and rumor. Nothing is confirmed and those articles are very careful on their wording. Until Watson or the Team confirm trade discussions have taken place, everyone should just breath and stop freaking out.

Why aren't we more focused on the 2 leading head candidates?

This tells me Cuck is atleast throwing trial balloons out there for the possibility of trading DW4. After all McClain right or wrong was on the search committee so Cuck is using McClain as a tool.
I don’t Want watson gone. I believe he’s just coming into his own and with the right coaching and better surrounding cast can unquestionably be a top 5 QB. But if he does want to go that would be a sweet offer.

1. He doesn't want to be here
2. Top 5 guys like Rodgers/Brees
3. Wilson

Haven't made the SB because of lack of talent around them because they make to much money. The Texans have way to many holes on their team to be able to afford paying DW4 35-40 mil a yr.

Agreed, I certainly would get what I wanted in trade for DW4 before I would trade him. Two 1sts, Two 2nds and cap relief would be a starting point in negotiati

I would be very happy with the equivalent of three 1's for DW4.
I would be pissed. That’s a nice cake but it needs some icing. Whether it’s Miami or NY I want a Hershall walker deal. Is their a better example of how hard it is to get a QB as talented as Watson as the situation we’re in right now? The two teams that are most associated with trading for Watson have spent the #5 and the #1 overall picks within the last three years on a QB. Yet their willing to give up those QBs (assuming) and a ton of draft capital for Watson. Be careful what you wish for. I don’t know how anyone that has been a fan of this franchise from the beginning would want to start the search over for another legit QB.

I know you feel this way. You're a big DW4 fan.

I think he's a good but not great QB. The team has too many holes in it to fill and the only way I can see to fix this is by trading DW4. I mean they went 4-12 with DW4 with no cap room now or in the future with DW4 eating up 40 mil per yr. Let me take a chance on drafting well rather than being stuck in the lost decade.

Prepare yourself for being p!ssed.
