I'm not saying he won't be good in KC. But, 5 or 6 RBs in this draft would be good in that offense. CEH was never hit by a D-lineman in college. Of course, the Chiefs may use him in a way he's never hit by a D-Lineman in KC. I thought it was just bad value and not what the Chiefs needed. If they weren't going to help their defense, then add depth to the razor thin O-line depth. Protect the Franchise.I know that’s a popular opinion but I disagree. He’s going to blow it up in KC.
Kmet is still available. Lol.If OB drafts a TE tomorrow I might lose it.
There are no receiving options in the middle of the field on this team. Just saying.Kmet is still available. Lol.

I agree. That’s why I like pitman. But knowing bob he’ll take the 5th rated TE and tell everyone how much smarter he is than them. Then he won’t play him because well you know. There are no receiving options in the middle of the field on this team. Just saying.
Trying to think outside the box, might O'Brien take an OT at #40 to improve the overall talent level of the O-line and to provide insurance against a Tunsil holdout?
Wirfs falling. Wonder how far he will fall. Laughed at people who said he would be first OT. His film just wasn’t that good. Hes going to get picked because of potential and his combine numbers but the other three were head and shoulders better.

I was seeing Gallimore on my radar a lot.Mckinney S stud
Winfield S stud either would be great
Davidson DL could be steal of the draft at 40.
Gladney CB best fit here at CB of all left
Gallimore DL best interior pass rusher in entire draft.
JK Dobbins is going to be a steal for someone.I know that’s a popular opinion but I disagree. He’s going to blow it up in KC. He is the most complete back in this draft. People want to pigeonhole hole him because of his height. Their wrong.
I wouldn’t do that. The Texans have to pay Tunsil or tag him. We’d be looking at two first round picks, two second round picks if the Texans let Tunsil walk for a hope and a prayer for a guy that will likely take a couple years to develop. And if that OT in the second doesn’t work out?Trying to think outside the box, might O'Brien take an OT at #40 to improve the overall talent level of the O-line and to provide insurance against a Tunsil holdout?

I would try to trade back to 45-50 if I could.
At worst you could get 1 of the safeties

The Jets and Packers could use a WR and have picks that I am certainly interested in. Fuller to NYJ for 2.48? Fuller+40 for 48, 68, & 79?
Fuller to GB for 2.62 and one of their 3 6th rounders? It is obvious that the NFL sees some prospects differently from armchair scouts, but I see a variety of S, WR, DL and Edge players that I rate pretty high sitting there to be had in the 2nd and 3rd.
If Mims falls a team like the Packers or the Saints could look to move up to 40.
I think on a team that already has Cooks and Stills to stretch the field, I prefer Mims (at pick 40) at his cap hit to Fuller at his cap hit.
The Texans need defense now.
Because OB is going to OB and pick another Warring type player, where he could have been picked up at a later round but OB thought it was a steal. I know people are excited that good payers are falling, but I'm reminded OB is in charge of the draft, so that keeps me from getting my hopes up.Optimistically, several players we could use should be there so why I am I so anxious? I hope we do not have to draft a safety to replace Gipson as we just gave Murray $ to be that guy.
Agreed. But is there a CB that will beat out Roby or Conley (or Hargreaves or LJ)? Is there a S that takes snaps from Reid, Gipson, Murray or Watkins? A DL who will be a better option than Watt, Jernigan, Dunn or Omenihu? Is Mercilus, Scarlett or Martin at OLB going to be pushed out by a rookie without an offseason to acclimate to the NFL? I truly agree that the Texans need to focus on that side of the ball across the draft but at this pick (40) if there is a player who can be a foundational piece available and no clear better option at a position of need, I am considering them.

I am in the minority I'm sure but I want the Texans to look for a WR today that can be a red zone threat. I am looking at Mims at 40 and Claypool or Pittman later on in the 2nd if they trade back or swap a player (several have been mentioned) for a pick.Several RB's still available.
But I still prefer D line.
Who do you hope is available?
I'm hoping that the TEs or DJ (either) becomes more of a red zone threat.I am in the minority I'm sure but I want the Texans to look for a WR today that can be a red zone threat. Both could be as some teams filled that need. Not much chance either will be there @ 90?
if we keep our four we have now we don't need to draft another receiver..Not sure if they'll make it to 90. The Jets and colts could go WR in the second and there's talk the saints are looking to move up into round 2.

I would say all of the above. We tend to overrate the current players on the team. I think I counted 7 players that could come to this defense and make an impact.Agreed. Looks good so farDefense is over rated in this NFL. He will be uncoverable out of the backfield and he broke more tackles than swift. In fact swift the media darling is my sixth RB.
1a Helaire
1b Taylor
2a Dobbins
2b Moss
2c Akers
6th swift
There’s a ton of sleepers in this draft.
That’s the great thing about message boards. Once you make a statement it’s there forever. Put this down he’s going to be great in KC.
Not picking on you, but this is why when posters speak about the Texans shouldn't pick a qb because of what they don't have, it makes no sense. I'm not saying you've posted this, I'm just saying in general. A franchise qb is the fastest way back to contention.Watching that highlight montage of Herbert brought shades of Joe Flacco and Brock Osweiler to the forefront of my brain....I think he’s gonna be a bust imo.
Chargers also do t have an o-line to speak of...
I think you could go back and pull up stuff on all of us that we got wrong... hindsight is much clearer than predictions. That's why we're on a MB and not in a NFL front officeNot picking on you, but this is why when posters speak about the Texans shouldn't pick a qb because of what they don't have, it makes no sense. Allen is not better than Cooks, sorry. I simply quoted about how he said the ol was trash as an example. The o line is trash and yet Herbert is a superbowl caliber qb. If they don't make it, its not because of him. How many games did Tyrod play to give he rookie to learn? The example you lay out is the worst possible example for your opinion.
The Chargers were much better than the Texans offensively. They had true number 1 RB and WR who could make plays. The Texans have none.
I will give you the OL didn’t perform well, partly due to injuries.
That is why Tyrod Taylor was there to give the rookie Herbert time to learn. Taylor got hurt and Herbert was rushed in. That wasn’t the plan.
But Herbert still had playmakers and proven #1 RB and WR. The Texans do not.
To do what the Chargers did the Texans need to be where the Chargers were. The Texans have another year at least to go.
The opinion to not draft a QB is to do the exact thing you are using as an example.
I agree, I'm just saying that even in building that foundation, they miss. Look at Alex Leatherwood, Jonah Williams,Robert Gallery, Luke Jockle. If you draft high and miss, no matter the position, that's 4 wasted years. If you're drafting top 10 and the guy can't make it past his rookie deal, that's a wasted pick. Those guys are supposed to be foundational pieces. If healthy, they're supposed to be 8-10 year guys, regardless of position. Moral of the story is don't miss with high picks regardless of position. Jets missed on Darnold, Cardinals missed on Rosen, to some exrtent Browns missed on Baker. They also missed on the Courtney Browns and Aaron Curry's who were supposed to be can't miss prospects.i also got JJ Watt and Von Miller wrong too for what its worth. & while we agree its the fastest way back to contention…………IF you manage to get the pick right….which odds are you probably won’t, your committing franchise suicide for the next 4+ years at least if you get it wrong. I just merely say that Its not the only way to build a team & its also the fastest way to being in a perpetual state of rebuilding too. See:
the Browns for 20 years…Mayfield, Manziel
The Jags for 20 years…Gabbert, Bortles…Lawrence?
The Bears for 20 years… Trubisky, Fields?
The Commanders for 20 years…Haskins, RG3
The Dolphins for 20 years….Tannehill….Tua?
All have each taken at least 2 qbs (Some 3) with a 1st round pick within the last 10-15 years that bombed out and wound up setting their franchise back another 4-5 years on top of what they were already facing.
So Congrats to a team like the Bills for finally landing their guy that they believe can lead them to a SB….Thats great…..only took them 20 years of missing the playoffs with the likes of JP Losman (1st rounder) and EJ Manuel (1st rounder)…both of which they spent at least 2 years “evaluating” before they moved on…At which time the FO then spent another 2 years each failing to keep the talent at other positions that they did manage to amass while they floundered with 1st round qb flops.
So no, at this point in the game, i’d much rather see the Texans build a solid foundation of talent before cashing in all their chips on a 1st round qb who would have next to a 0% chance to have success with nothing around him.
