Brian Gaine Fired

Check this out. Wow.

ALLEGATIONS OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION AND WRONGFUL TERMINATION AGAINST THE HOUSTON TEXANS AND FORMER GM BRIAN GAINE. A recently fired staffer filed an EEOC complaint Wednesday and says Gaine created a hostile work environment for African-Americans, even telling them they couldn't eat together in the cafeteria. A spokesperson for the Texans says this case did not have anything to do with Gaine's firing. KPRC2 / Click2Houston

So NE has not a leg to stand on with their tampering charge
Unless there’s video evidence at this ring ceremony, I don’t see how a tampering charge can’t stick. I suppose they can pay find “witnesses” to give their “testimony” and I don’t know how he said she said will end up playing out, but otherwise this is just a case of the Pats being the Pats, looking under every rock, trying to take advantage of every little obscurity or loophole they think they can.

So, I'm playing out the scenarios and wondering if this might be a new method to acquire draft capital. The Pat's didn't fire Gaines. We did. I get that,

But...

If we get burned on this or not, I wonder if "baiting" teams into tampering with an exec (or player) could become a thing. Our guys express curiosity in whatever positions around the league with zero real desire and wait for whomever to violate rules. Investigation follows and picks would be awarded. When our guys witness against opposing teams there'd be more leverage. Might garner an extra pick or 2 every 4-6 years?

Maybe not as I dont know precisely what elements are necessary for guilt. Just considering a double/triple cross spy outlook.

I think we're about to get screwed on this. ***** belichick.

Weaponize this rule, especially against the AFC south and especially against the damn Pats now.

Dunno about the baiting because the Pats have lost a ton of people over the years and I don't think they've done a tampering charge like this before

I'm not suggesting it was their original intent to dangle caserio like that...

Only teams tamper all the time. Teams steal players and exec's all the time. Lets make use of that. If we're gonna bite the bullet on this one, I wanna shoot back.

I can’t believe anyone would be ok with giving up or would even suggest a 1st round pick in exchange for an executive. The gall of those chowder eating snobs. The biggest cheaters the sport has know want to cry about cheating. Lol.

This whole jacking off of anyone that comes from NE by Buttchin is cringy and reeks of desperation.

More from Rap: Sense is that Obrien doesn’t want to have to worry about personnel anymore and that’s part of why they fired Gaine. He wants a GM he can trust to handle personnel without him.
Now if he could only do the same with play calling.

Allegedly there is video evidence that Patriots will offer with their charges of tampering. My thoughts would be there would have to be voice evidence or at least lip reading.

It will be interesting to hear if Easterby even knew Gaine was going to be fired. If not he would have every right to say hi to a friend because at the ceremony Gaine was GM and was assumed that was not subject to change. In that scenario nothing was inappropriate.
If you're in the front office of a team wanting a guy for their new GM, you make sure no one in said office is seen during a filmed public event talking to the guy the day before you fire the old GM. You tell Easterly to not bee seen talking to Caserio at the function or even better you ask him to not attend. If you need him to make contact you do it in private or over the phone, not in front of cameras.

At some point in time I crossed a line and went from being a "Texans fan" to something more like an audience member on the Maury Povich Show or a rubber-necker in traffic slowly creeping past a grisly accident. I no longer care if they win or lose. I'm just here to watch the show and see how bad they're going to screw up the next thing when it comes along. If I'd stayed a fan I think I'd eventually have gone mad from watching this stupid family run this stupid team.

I'm still a fan but not as emotionally invested in the team as I was with the Oilers. It's amazing how self-made billionaire businessmen, considered to be brilliant in the business world, can muck it up so bad with owning a professional sports team.

Now Caserio is going to "testify" LMAOOOOOO this **** is getting comical. Texans front office cant seem to get out of each others way and leads to a bunch of stupidity. Please for the love of God stop bending over for anyone that comes from NE .. there are TONS of great football guys out there, promote from within WHATEVER but stop this circus already. Texans are looking like that stalker ex girlfriend who wont take no for an answer. Please move on and find another candidate of keep the guy you have, hell Buttchin is the guy calling all the shots anyway right? What a bad look.

Who reported he'll testify?

I think Cal is like his Dad. He's absolutely terrified of making a decision on his own and becoming the face of the franchise. Bob McNair stuck to Rick Smith like a security blanket, and now we have O'Brien just running roughshod throughout the org. He's run off 2 GMs in less than 2 years.

Unless Caserio comes out and says that Easterby asked him to come to Houston there is no proof that Houston tampered or that he was directed to do so. Friends talk all the time about possibilities

Very simple, isn't it.

Interesting. PatDstat posted that O'Brien was behind signing McCarron and Weeden. Supposedly, McCarron spent only 5 minutes with Gaine. If this is true, that would mean O'Brien is downplaying his involvement with personnel.

What does this have to do with Caserio replacing Gaine? From what I've read BOB said the reason he wanted a change was that he wanted to do more time coaching and less time evaluating personnel.
