Texans random thought of the day

That right there is my problem. Year FIVE and we still don't know what O'Brien's system is...
and that's okay with you?

stick a fork in 'im, he be done
LoL

This is what it looks like when the Gmand HC aren't on the same page.

With all the cat fighting going on in this forum you would think that the Texans were headed for another 2-14 season or worse instead of a 7 game winning streak and possibly one of the best seasons in franchise history

This season makes me think about the ol' saying......win the battle, lose the war. As the wins pile up, the further back in the draft the team slides. If this OL suddenly gels and O'Brien finally figure out how to utilize DT while getting Coutee open....there's chance for a miracle in Houston. Unfortunately, I just don't see the end of rainbow landing on NRG.

It's not like we're going to win the Super Bowl.

31 0ther teams won't either

So what use to fight with each other? Everyone has an opinion... you know the old saying? Opinions are like aholes... they all stink

And there's where the division around here lies. If this OL suddenly gels? Looking at the talent, what on earth makes anyone think that will happen? Even if they do play "better" it's akin to pissing in your pants instead of shitting in them. ~credit to someone here saying that somewhere around here. It's still not good.

And O'Brien finally figuring out how to utilize players? Well, 4 1/2 years and waiting. I don't know why anyone believes that will happen either.

O'Brien is not a horrible coach. He is average. He can beat the bad teams, the teams he's supposed to beat, on a regular basis, but he can't beat the good teams, the teams you have to beat to win championships. 11-26 against teams better than .500. Piling up the regular season wins against mediocre to bad teams is part of the process to get to the 2nd season, and that's great and all, but that 2nd season is what this game is all about. And if the Texans aren't smashing the hapless Bengals or a 3rd string rookie QB, they're getting their shit handed to them in that 2nd season. That's not good enough.

Dolts are starting to get their sh!t together, can't overlook them anymore. Kittens hahahahhaahha, such pretenders they are. Tacks are only good when the Texans need them to be bad, like on Monday nights.

The Texans had better extend their win streak tomorrow night or this division gets really really tight.

All I remember about Kub was the failure of scoring in the red zone. Seems to me that was why he was fired

Yea, I also was shocked by all of this outpouring of affection. I bet I could find a bunch of "Fire Kubiak" threads without too much trouble.

That is why I like this Forum. Other Forums have Ebbs and Flows depending on how the team is doing. You can always depend that there will be Crap here. :)

you can't please everyone all time... so you might as well please yourself

But this is getting ridiculous. Never thought this board would turn into the "official board' (without the moderators of course). More personal attacks now than ever before. Used to be a standard... ATTACK THE POST, NOT THE POSTER! Seems that's no longer the case

Here are the AFC standings before the Texans and Titans play on Monday night. Pittsburgh lost on Sunday to drop below Houston in the playoff race.

Texans vs. Titans: John McClain's keys to victory

John McClain , Houston Chronicle Nov. 25, 2018 Updated: Nov. 24, 2018 11:33 a.m.

What to watch for during the Texans' game against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night at NRG Stadium:

Texans' three keys to victory

1. Protect Deshaun Watson. He was sacked three times at Washington, and he suffered two interceptions. The offensive line has to keep him upright.

2. The front seven has to pressure quarterback Marcus Mariota, who missed the first game against the Texans. He's been sacked 29 times.

3. No blunders by special teams. The Texans lost 20-17 at Tennessee, where the Titans threw a touchdown pass on a fake punt.

I’ve always been excellent at pleasing myself. You could even say I’m a master at it.

And they put more points on the board than the Steelers did inspite of BOB.

Pittsburgh had over 500 yards of offense nearly doubling the offensive production of the Texans. Flukey fumble into the endzone by the TE, another Connor fumble and then Ben had 2 picks. Cant turn the ball over in the NFL. Pittsburgh gifted that game to Denver, and the Broncos played a clean game. I'll go out on a limb and say you didnt watch a minute of this game and only scanned the highlights yea?

I watched the end of that game.

Our double oven went out the day before Thanksgiving and we had to go shopping for a new one and did that in the 2nd game Sunday.

DeAndre Carter may quickly place Tyler Ervin in the book of forgotten memories..................he had a 30-yard kickoff return against the Tennessee Titans, caught a 14-yard pass and averaged 12.3 yards per punt return.

Looks like he's going to have to replace Coutee in the slot.

Thank God Gaine is finding guys on the WW that can play even this late in the season.

O'Brien actually made some good calls this game and his offense was definitely not vanilla.
I think the Titans stung him out of his slumber and he got aggressive.
24 unanswered points(in the first half!) is a pretty good gauge of that.

My random thought. The turning point of the game last night wasn't Vrabel going for it on 4th, failing then us taking it to the house the very next play. No to me, the turning point was earlier, it was when we recovered Carter's fumble. To begin the game we seemed a little flat, and almost snake bit. What I thought was a poor PI call got them their first score, a busted coverage got them their second. We went 3 and out in between it everything was lining up for our typical prime time melt down. Then the return happened, Carter broke a nice return but then the ball popped out. I had flashbacks to all of the Texans previous failures in big games, Jacoby's muffed punt, Ervin's fumble against the Pats it all came rushing back in an instance. Then the ball somehow bounced right through the arms of the Titans player, we recovered it. From that point I knew we were fine, the ball that has seemingly always bounced against us in big games, bounced for us this game.

Jason Bell and Osi Umenyora do a great job presenting the highlights show on BBC over here. They bring that great swagger to punditry against the backdrop of the stiff MOTD style presentation of BBC Sports coverage that really works.

One thing that has really intrigued me last week was Jason Bell saying Osi had given him a few tips when watching Texans' tape that has totally changed his perception of our team.

Saying we are one of the most dangerous teams in the league right now, not the perception that I've been guilty of that we are a poor team on a good run.

He didn't elaborate on what he meant by this, but I wonder if it's to do with the D.

It seems like shutdown D is no longer possible in this league the way it used to be. Teams are going to be able to move the ball on you in chunks and in games where the ball will travel up and down between the 20's all day, having playmakers on the back end giving the QB lots of different looks vs having a front 7 that can bring pressure all day and play the run effectively makes us a potent combination.
