Know what's even more stupid? Those consistent runs on 2nd and long. Defenses read Billy like a book. It's like a broken record.Hopefully they look for a OC in the off-season if O’Brien stays. Those 1st down runs were stupid.
I agree. Need to score more. Need better play calling. This we know and agree.
Our only - and only hope is in DW and the previous season that he can score.
We haven’t seen it this season yet.
I don’t thing we will because of OB.
But I do think DW and this offense could if two things happened -
Better HC
Better OL
There is just one thing that will change in the next two years before our defensive window closes.
Haven't seen it this season yet? Didn't they just put up 42 points on offense two games ago?

This is why I like you. You get it. Along with everyone here. It's not negative to keep it real. No way you could have told me 6 straight wins. Need wins in JanuaryI agree. Need to score more. Need better play calling. This we know and agree.

It's the whole eyeball test. Screw stats. OB doesn't pass the eyeball testThanks man. I like you too if - as long as you keep agreeing with me. Lol!
I think everyone on this board says the same thing in a different way:
We have a good team - just not good enough to win the AFC championship game or even make it for that matter.
And our HC/OC is the biggest problem at this point unless he pulls some crazy Andy Reid/Belicheck/Sean Payton/Sean McVay out of his ass.
Any team led by Brock Osweiler doesn’t count.
How many points came off of interceptions?
Just one... was the game that long ago you legitimately don't remember DW4 throwing 5 tds in 20 pass attempts?
I really don’t remember. But I drink a lot like any good Texans fan.
Maybe I shouldn’t have said points off interceptions. I should have said “Brock can’t get an offense going and how many three and outs were there?” Or “how many bad passes that were over thrown?”
He did have 16 incompletions to DWs 4.
I just am biased that it doesn’t matter what the the Texans did that game - they played against a back up QB - and BO for that matter.
Right or wrong that’s what I think. And I am ok with being wrong.
That's good you're okay being wrong. Because you are... Texans offense has had it's moments this season. As they should considering they are on a six game winning streak!
How did we let Case Keenum get away? When he was here he did what he was supposed to do. He helped tank the season.
19 pts isnt gonna get it done in playoffs. Solid win. But offense needs to get better
Yea but are we going to use the Dolphins as a example this team can score?
That team is horrible top to bottom.
More so with Brock.
That is more of an outlier game based on the others so shouldn’t we discount that game of an anomaly based on the others that range in the 20 point offense we know and hate?
we need the running backs to be receiving more. Reliance on wideouts is not how you compensate for a sub par offensive line.
BOb had no comfort level with the available Wr's outside of Nuk and I think that had a lot more to do with his conservative approach this week. I know we could not make that excuse most games but in this one we are coming off of a game where BOb opened things up a bit more than usual and Will Fuller who was playing a big role in his opening the offense up was lost for the season. Demaryius Thomas was too new of a weapon to do too much with him. Keke Coutee will be back as well. I think the offense will pick up the next time our team plays. It better anyway,Always good to get a road win! Hopefully BoB goes back to trusting Deshaun to win him games instead of this run, run, pass every series.
Hate to say it but.. We should have lost.
I'm pleased we won but if we're attempting to fool ourselves into believing we're gonna be dangerous in the playoffs.. we should be beating up on the Denvers of the league.
Just sayin'
I don’t think anyone believes we are on the same tier as NE, KC, NO or the Rams. Of course we will be underdogs in the playoffs. In one game anything is possible - but not probable. Still I want to see what Watson can do in that atmosphere. He will learn from that experience.
Oh and for a good bit there, we were the better team against Denver. It was a 50 50 game and we got lucky at the end.
The Chiefs and Rams barely beat the Broncos in Denver as well. Maybe they’re a better team than you think?Hate to say it but.. We should have lost.

The Broncos have a HC that is worse than O'Brien. The Chiefs and Rams barely beat the Broncos in Denver as well. Maybe they’re a better team than you think?
O'Brien and Devlin hopefully had an eye opening experience during this game. Running game had been questionable at best Week 1 thru Week 6. Weeks 7 and 8 saw a very nice turnaround in the run game and that could be contributed to Mancz and Lamm having more time to work together. Martin even benefited with Mancz at RG as did the running game finally having big success to the right side for the first time in 15+ years.
So damn the results, Fulton is healthy and O'Brien and Devlin couldn't wait to insert him back at RG. For some reason, the running game and the OL reverted back to that wonderful unit that had every Texans fan feeling like the OL issues had been solved......NOT!!!!! Martin performed badly and the running game disappeared as fast as it had re-appeared over the previous two weeks. Also, sacks and pressures made a re-appearance.
Way to go O'Brien and Devlin.....you were just a far right miss from sludging up to the podium and giving that same ol' tried but true statement, "I take full blame for this loss".
Dang.......I'm still trying to figure out what you did to slam the book shut on the success of the first two drives.
Being successful in the regular season is great, but it's not always an indicator of what you can do in the playoffs. We've barely managed to beat some bad teams, there is no way the Texans stack up with the likes of the Chiefs, Patsies, Rams and Saints. We might end up the division winner again, but that's all. Been there, done that.
Of course it is better to be the best of the worst rather than living among the worst. I guess our mediocrity is better than the other's mediocrity.
You can say with confidence without Watson this team is crap, but you can't say that about OB.
Hate to say it but.. We should have lost.

Fruit baskets for Frank Reich, Blake Bortles/Cody Kessler , Nathan Peterman, and Vance Joseph are going to be crazy this christmas. Lets not forget we are the NY Giants only victory and we lost to Blaine Freakin Gabbert.
I see this team in the exact same spot we were in when we had Kubes.....We're gonna have to get use to these tight games. Very easily we could be 8-1 or 1-8. I guess there are worse HC/OC's in the league but damn, I'd like to have a good one now with these weapons. Kyle Shannahan running this offense would be spectacular.
I've been saying all season that O'Brien is getting bailed out by the individual efforts of the elite players on the team.
However, many of the struggles in this game were not on him. Denver game planned for a Texans offense that was depleted at receiver and cannot protect the passer, so they committed to stopping the run and forced Watson the throw it. The wind played into their favor with that plan.
On the other side of the ball, Denver knew our linebackers cannot cover while Cunningham is out, so they relied more on their tight end (hence all the missed tackles -- Heuerman is 6'5" 250lbs). Cunninghham was also missed when Lindsay was burning us in the middle.
This would have been a different game with Coutee or Ellington running underneath routes for Watson. The one thing I can't figure out is why we don't scheme our running backs as dump off options. Tom Brady uses those constantly, and the one time we used it tonight, it saved Watson's bacon when he tossed it to Miller from our own end zone.
We need TE's more involved, and we need the running backs to be receiving more. Reliance on wideouts is not how you compensate for a sub par offensive line.
You've already admitted you aren't paying attention. The burden of proof is on you at this point.
Do you really want your QB, who is recovering from cracked ribs and a bruised, partially deflated lung running RPOs? Maybe after the bye, but OB would've been nucking futs to use that more than the one time I remember them running it yesterday.Run game would benefit a lot more if we ran from shotgun. Deshaun doesn’t have to run the ball but at least be a threat so they account for him on runs. Also if we ran some RPOs that wound help a lot also.
Belichick would have this team as the odds on Super Bowl champs. I think Sean McVay would also. OB? Not so much. The Texans are a mediocre team with a very advantageous schedule. They have a few players that are top notch, luckily for us one of them is the QB.
I know I'm harsh on the Texans, but they just aren't as good as their record. They could easily be a very threatening and dangerous team with a decent o-line, and hopefully that gets taken care of this off season. (As if we haven't already said that a thousand frigging times.) With a decent o-line even OB's horseshit would work just fine.

I dunno. BB has done more with less, year in and year out, because he can fit his scheme to match just about every player's skillset. Name a single OL for the Pats. Look at the price the G-Men paid for Solder. The G-Men have one of the worst OLs in the league.Great start!
I beg to differ with this OL and depth THIS year... give them a year or two then yeah probably

I just left a Texans' dressing room, where the players were more excited after a regular-season game than any I can remember.
Of course, they were...........It was the combination of the altitude effects with that cheap celebratory weed.......They're delusional.
