Game 4...The Tacks...Tennessee Titans!

JamTex

Hall Of Fame Texans Fan!
On October 1st the Texans will take on the Titans at noon central time in NRG Stadium. The game will be aired live on CBS 11.
This Texans team under Deshaun Watson is getting better and better. That game against the Patriots came down to the wire and was unbelievable.
That said, Marcus Mariotta is playing pretty good himself.
The Texans defense limited the all powerful Tom Brady to 396 yards of total offense.
Watson produced 417 yards of total offense. The Texans lost by 3 points to the mighty Patriots.
All that being said, the Texans will take on the Titans at home.
The Titans are playing good football right now, but haven't gone against a defense the caliber of the Texans.
I don't see the Titans coming to our house and getting a win.
The Texans will take this game in a big way.
Margin of victory? 17 points.

Texans 34
Titans 17

GO TEXANS!!!

Any chance that Duane Brown will end his hold out tomorrow morning and be ready to play versus the Titans on Sunday? Enough is enough. Either help the team win some games or retire big guy. You have two years of contract still left!

His agent made it sound like Duane Brown is prepared to hold out until mid season. The earliest he will return, if things remain the same, is after our BYE week. So we'd be without him for only three more games actually. Titans, Chiefs and at Browns (then bye week).

So see you in four more games Mr. Brown. I guess I can wait.

brown can get cut for all I care he .. he hurt his teammates and that's just not right

IMO, this game comes down to their OL vs our DL. Whoever wins that battle, wins the game.
It's looking more and more like this describes our season. The rollouts, read option and Watson's mobility are masking some of the deficiencies of our OL but what are we going to look like against a good DL again? We might have a better sense of this if we game planned w/ Watson to start against the Jags -- as of now, it looks like this is the question that will determine how far we can go this year.

If we had any other QB back there I'd agree with that statement .... but damn Watson just has a knack for getting away from pressure and making something happen.

If the accuracy ever catches up to the rest of his game the league is in trouble.

Dude is making me eat my words saying I wouldn't have drafted him ....

Accuracy is usually something that does not improve that much

titans > cows

u guys couldnt even handle the jaguars... LoL!

I think a lot of that poor performance was due to lack of preparation and playing emotionally flat due to the aftermath of Harvey and not realizing just how bad the o-line truly was. It was a wakeup call on many levels. This team is also a different team with Watson under center.

Watson is an unknown commodity right now which often gives a boost to a new QB. Will it last though?

As for your guys coming out flat footed, I think we all assume that is what happened. They cannot be that bad.

You and I are pretty much in the same boat on this one. Which means we can mix some fresh seafood with our crow!

Their line is overrated from the standpoint they haven't faced a front 7 or defense like ours. Yeah they beat Seattle but the seahawks don't have a front 7 as stout and versatile as ours so i think we'll get the better of them there. We were able to hold Mixon, Hill and Bernard in check so i'm not sweating Murray and Henry. The real question is going to be how does our secondary hold up. Mariota has the same ability to extend plays and run like Watson but he's a much more polished passer. Should be a good game.

What? Accuracy is one if the things that absolutely can be practiced and improved.

I feel like you're talking to an 8 year old, or perhaps someone with the equivalent education of an 8 year old (meaning HS level in Tennessee).

Titans fans get their first winning season since 2011 and they start coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches. Where have they been for 6 YEARS!! lol

We thought the same thing about Jake Locker' s accuracy

Ravens said the same about Kyle Boller

I am sure though it will be different though with watson

Elvis is the first thing I think of when thinking about Tennessee. 2nd is Prince's Hot Chicken. 3rd is Arrested Development. 4th is the Vols. The Titans are waaayyyyy down the list.

I heard Andre Hal on the radio a little while ago saying their defensive game plan is always to stop the run. & with the way Murray & Henry went off yesterday, I'm wondering if we're going to be too focused on the run.

There was a consistent problem in our pass coverage & if the Titans can break off a couple of big pass plays early... we may be on our heels all game like we were against Jacksonville.

Not sweating Murray and BDH because of the Bengals performance?

Murray/Henry >>>> Mixon/Hill/Gio
Titans OL >>>>Bengals OL

Murray and Henry are going to be Cow tipping on Sunday.

I think we split with the Tacks this season, and the home game is the one we figure to win. A donnybrook like this week, but with us on top. Toros 40, Tacks 30.

You could say this is a must win for Texans. I don't think we can overcome a 0-2 start against the AFC South.
I expect the Texans to win these next three home games against the Titans, Chiefs and Browns. We can enter our bye week with a 4-2 record and very much alive in playoff contention midway through the season. The tough loss to the Patriots gave us a lot of confidence and hope. I'm feeling very optimistic moving forward.

I hope you are right, but that Chiefs game in primetime will be tough. They are really playing well to start the season and we know how the Texans usually stink it up in primetime against anyone other than the Bengals.

And our front 7 is better than any front 7 you've played all year mr. dud adams. I also don't see how you can say the Bengals trio isn't at least comparable to the fumble machine that is Murray....& Henry hasn't done jack **** since he's been in the league to prove that he's at least on Hill or Gio's level. Brady and the Pats showed us some holes in the secondary that will surely be patched up by the time you guys try to copy it next week. You also don't have the speed merchants that the pats had in Cooks and Hogan on the outside that we fear. So really what this comes down to is Can Mariota beat us with his arm....... with fragile as Corey Davis, slow ass Eric Decker and the JAG of all JAG's Rishard Mathews. He ain't been able to do it yet homie.

The Titans since 2009 -

14-34 in the AFC South
Titans have NOT swept a season series with ANY AFC South team
Titans are 1-15 against the Colts
Mariota has NEVER beaten Houston or Indy in 4 career starts.[/QUOTE]

We were talking sh!t about Jacksonville before that game as well. If Watson keeps progressing at the rate he is, we'll win. If for whatever reason the Texans offense reverts to it's pre-Watson mentality, we'll be turning off our TVs early this Sunday. I have all the confidence in the world in Watson, but he is battling our offensive line and OB as much as he is the other team.
