Day 3 NFL Draft Discussion

Back on board and the Davenport pick was absolutely perfect!!!

I'm jumping back and forth on my iPad but, if Asiata, Eluemunor, Butt or Leggett are still on the board....RD4 is going to be monster!!!!

I'm trading back here if I can. Tons of very good options available right now. Trade back a bit and one will still be there and we can pick up an extra pick (preferably a 4th next year).

Here are some names I've seen mentioned as options (no first-hand knowledge of most):
TE: Butt, Hodges, Leggett
OL: Eleumenor, R. Johsnon, Isidora, Asiata
DT: Watkins, Brantley
DB: King

If the Texans want to entertain moving back...do so, but take the extra pick for this year b/c this draft is quickly becoming back loaded with better than average talent.

With no 1st or 2nd next year we're going to need ammo to move up next year.

Also, swapping a 4th this year for a 4th next year would likely net us an extra 6th or 7th this year.

Oh man!!!!!!!! I totally forgot that DT, Carlos Watkins was still on the board. And BAM, what a finishing touch to RD4. DL as a whole just got a lot scarier for NFL offenses.

Pffff we announcing picks from space and the Dolts are spanking their monkeys

10.5 sacks as a DT for the national champs. Watkins brings some nice interior pass rush in the rotation. We needed another 5 tech and he's a similar player to Wormley who I really liked. Like the pick!

I think Texans can entertain another OL in RD5 but 1 player worth keeping an eye on is SS/FS- David Jones, Richmond. This guy is 6-3 @ 210 lbs and popped a 4.5 - 40. His cover talent would give him the versatility to go SS or FS.

Did Ian Rappaport just say that Jay Cutler couldn't get the Texans to return any of his phone calls?

That's funny if true.

If we get one of the top 3 tight ends left this may be the best draft we've ever had
Speculation Warning :D:
Not sure we go after a TE since our only F/A move was to re-sign Griffin.

I think O'Brien is good with the TE group he has.

Texans seem to value size/length measurables a lot more under O'brien. So my boy King wasn't the best fit because of lack of ideal size. So to throw a name out for round 5:

Brian Allen CB Utah: 6'3" 215 4.4 40

Great athlete to add depth to secondary!

Not thinking contributor on D this season. Need to find guys who can run and cover for special teams that may be able to help D as they develop.

Roderick Johnson is kinda terrible. Seems like for a guy with his size/measurable being a quality ot is just too much of a bother for him.

This draft is a Rick Smith/Bill O'Brian reset. Better class than one they should of had when they owned first picks every round (2014). Or maybe it's just all relative? This is certainly a much stronger class overall.

We have a more complete team and Smith has a better idea of what OB wants so easier to identify/project how these young men will fit in for us.
