You have not seen the best of Hoyer!

bob-ross-300x220.png

Have we ever seen the best of Hoyer? Unless it was 2013 when his high water mark QBR was 82.6 for the year and wasn't a full season. But hey, 6th season... maybe this is the year of the rabid dog.

His rating was 82.6. His QBR was 47.5. 65 is low end pro bowl level.

I'm 5'8" 324 lbs, bald, & I've got a small package. But I drive a vette, so I'm fine with my insecurities.

Hoyer still sucks.

No, honestly... I saw some good things & some bad things. I thought Hoyer had one good drive & several good throws. If we can get the run game going, I have no doubt in my mind that we can win games with Brian Hoyer.

But I still think he's cowers in the face of pressure & he doesn't process information fast enough to keep himself out of that pressure. & nothing would make me happier than for Brian Hoyer (or whoever OB puts out there Sunday) succeed.

& just so you know, there are several former players on TV or radio telling us that Hoyer sucked Sunday.

O'brien has referred to Hoyer (as he did to Fitzpatrick) as "smart." If he processes through the use of mathematics as he relates in an article I posted elsewhere today, that would account for why his thinking is so slow and his actions void of natural reactivity. He needs to drop the abacus approach to the game.............or learn to move the beads over quicker.

I haven't seen the best of Hoyer because the closed practice I was invited to was cancelled because of weather.

You guys are wannabe jocks in underwear sitting at a computer. The forum is being used to hide your insecurities and you take life's frustrations out on people that you could never measure up to. Don't be surprised to see Brian succeed on Sunday. It might then be a good time to take a bath and change your undergarments..

I dare you to meet me in person and say that to my face! Don't make me post a picture of my super hot girlfriend!

I still can't decide if this is Hoyer's mom or Hoyer's wife.

I'm wondering if it is a sock account just to stir the pot. Rarely do we see a subject that unifies 99% of members, but Hoyer's suckiness at QB is one of those subjects. I'm having a hard time believing this person joined just to prop up some mediocre (at best) journeyman QB.

The poster is either related or a sock account for one of our jokester members. IP search yielded no connections, but that's easy enough to get around with a proxy server, so maybe a member with some IT experience.

Sources: #Texans are poised to make a quarterback change. They are preparing to play with QB Ryan Mallett as their starter vs. the #Panthers

If that is true, so be it! Brian will stand behind and support!

Undergarments? Maybe it's Hoyer's grandmother. Don't get your unmentionables in a bunch.

I still can't decide if this is Hoyer's mom or Hoyer's wife.

You are a silly boy!

I think icak nailed it. Hoyer's wife or mother are probably too young to toss around terms like "undergarments" or "silly boy" - must be his grandma.

While it is quaint that she is here, I think experience has shown it is just a bad idea for relatives of mediocre QBs to post to the message boards.

Expand your mind.

Boyfriend
Based on this dudes passion and conviction I'd put my money on this being Hoyer himself.

No one here is making this personal about Hoyer. I believed O'Brien when he said he made the decision to start Hoyer based on what he saw in practice and preseason. But based on what happened Sunday it's clear the Hoyer was not prepared for the game and that he was on a short leash. I personally don't care which of the 2 is the QB is as long as they deliver on gameday. I want us to have decent men on this team but being decent alone doesn't make you a good football player. You have to play good smart football and when the margin for error is small you can't make bad decisions.

I will say that defending who I believe in is something most of you would do. Anyone's identity here is irrelevant. Brian has great character and will rebound better than ever providing Mallet doesn't work out. Remember me, I am not going away!

I think we all want that but sometimes it just doesn't happen. There's no shame in that.

What the hell is this??

lol! :heh:

"A sockpuppet is an online identity used for purposes of deception. The term, a reference to the manipulation of a simple hand puppet made from a sock, originally referred to a false identity assumed by a member of an Internet community who spoke to, or about, themselves while pretending to be another person."

We've had a couple on here in the past, but usually just for entertainment purposes (Bud Adams' account comes to mind).

Fair enough .... but to come in here and tell those of us who don't believe Hoyer is all that and a bag of chips that your logic is superior and we may as well be drunk trolls after what we watched .... aint the way to make your statement.

Anyone's identity here is irrelevant.

Yes and no .... There have been insiders , many of us have met in person and there are a few with multiple accounts just to troll. Not everyone here is hiding behind some internet image ....

Brian has great character and will rebound better than ever providing Mallet doesn't work out.

Character doesn't necessarily win football games .... doesn't hurt to have it , but talent is more important in a football player.
Does kinda suck that there are so many characterless jackasses in the league with great football talent .... but that's the world we live in.

Remember me, I am not going away!

Umm .... welcome to the board Brian Hoyer's mom ?!

I wonder if McNair will get involved in the QB battle .

He has before - Keenum.

You did say that in your original post. Makes me believe you are related.

Yup ... and the urban legend is it got the coach fired when he put his QB back in the Raider game .

Hillary Clinton made the most sense when she asked, What difference does it make?

Well, the difference it makes is that you made the comment that "if he's supporting Mallett then so be it" or something like that in your original post. If it's possible that you're related to him, then I figured that may be a glimpse into who the qb would be this weekend.

So then is my account on GayMeet.com my cock puppet?

That's not just urban legend , its downright fact.

I cant blame Gary for going down swinging with his guy .... a pro bowl QB (2009 /12) who had lead the league in passing yards (2009) over an undrafted FA.

I really need an "I don't like button" .....

I'm beginning to wonder if you are mentally challenged .... First Hoyer is all that and now .... quoting Hillary considering her precarious situation .... there aint enough facepalm smilies for this one ....

I actually agree with the original poster. We have not seen the best of Brian Hoyer. When he retires and begins the next phase of his life, I suspect we'll see a much better Hoyer. Maybe he'll be a coach. Maybe he'll be an insurance salesman. Maybe he'll be a real estate mogul. Whatever it is, the work ethic and leadership traits that he learned in and along the way to the NFL will definitely pay off.

But he still can't play QB in the NFL.

I will say that defending who I believe in is something most of you would do.

That's fine. Nobody has a problem with this. Agreement is not required.

However, when you join a long established forum and blast everyone with goofy nonsense - i.e. "What I hear on this board for the most part on this subject is the typical conversation you get after 6 beers on a blue lot tailgate party." - then you are trolling. Period.

And we deal with trolls like any other well moderated forum. Your ass will be banned. This is not a threat. It is a stated policy.

Attack the post, not the poster. It's a simple concept, but some people seem unable to comprehend simple concepts. Don't be one of those people if you want to continue posting here.

Can we designate this thread as the central hub for all major discussions and Texans updates for the rest of the season?

No one here is making this personal about Hoyer. I believed O'Brien when he said he made the decision to start Hoyer based on what he saw in practice and preseason. But based on what happened Sunday it's clear the Hoyer...

If it's true that Mallett will be our starting QB going forward then I think OB was telling the truth when he mentioned he didn't watch any of Hoyer's games after he played us.

Before our game, Hoyer gave as good as he got... but they didn't reply on him to as the foundation of their offense. He probably didn't face a pass rush as strong as the Chiefs' without a running game before they played us either.

O'Brien was probably just as shocked as anyone by what we... He was probably the only one shocked.

Our director of pro personnel is probably hiding right now... Because he knew & didn't have the hands to tell OB.

I have a realistic sense of what is happening. Yes, I am new on the scene, but I am not a troll. Here goes!

What I hear on this board for the most part on this subject is the typical conversation you get after 6 beers on a blue lot tailgate party. Some of you are real trolls and attempt to incite without any logic. How on earth are you smarter than any of the Texans coaches on who is the best fit for quarterback?

You refer to O'Brien as a 5 year old. You were singing his praises on Hard Knocks and now you blast the mans intelligence and integrity after a loss.

You break down Hoyer as if he was a rabid dog. What you are not seeing is a caring man who wanted to be in Houston. What opportunities did he really have in preseason?

Hoyer does bring poise, mobility, and passion. He is a student of the system and is working his butt to get better. He also holds himself accountable for his performance and is always helping a fellow teammate.

I don't think you have seen his best. It might be at supporting Mallet and making him better. I for one will see how this plays out and will support my team.
You gotta be kidding dude....I've noticed some people on here that drank the koolade but you must of eaten the powder straight from the packet....lol

We've already seen the degree of success Hoyer is capable of.........We barfed.....for 3 straight quarters......invest in a pair of glasses.....

At this point, I don't really care whether I've seen the best of Hoyer or not. I just don't want to see any more Hoyer except possibly in pre-season games or in another jersey.

Because watching Hoyer against the Chiefs made me feel like this:

Confused-Jacksonville-Jaguars-fan-in-stands.gif

And I don't want to feel like that.
Is he making an offering of boogers? I guess that's how Jacksonvillians roll?
