If you purchase the NFL Sunday ticket why doesn't that include the preseason?

The Direct TV ad says all of the games all of the time. I guess that's a lie.

My NFL Red Zone channel is on and showing parts of every game and all the scoring plays. Channel 130 on Xfinity. I didn't know it would cover the preseason. I was expecting it back Week 1 but it's a nice surprise nonetheless.

Legendary announcer Mike Patrick is calling the Cleveland Browns preseason game. Reminds me of the old ESPN Sunday Night Football or even the NFL playoff games when they used to be on ABC. And Dick Enberg is calling San Diego Padres baseball games. A guy who used to call NFL games on NBC and also the Super Bowl games when they used to air on NBC.

They're robbing the sports world calling games for the Browns and Padres. Those two golden voices should be an A-team for Fox or CBS. Better yet, calling the ESPN Monday Night football games or the Thursday Night CBS games.

Can already see Ravens aren't running Kubiak's offense. Inside and outside and some trap zone.

Matty Schaub in for BAL.

NE gets 2-point conversion.

Matt Schaub alert. He's in the game and playing for the Baltimore Ravens now. Incoming pick six on the way. Oh wait, it's only the preseason. He may lead a Touchdown drive as the Ravens near the red zone. He threw a lame duck on third down. Field goal time. Justin Tucker never misses often. 17-0 Ravens lead though. Schaub is playing okay. Not to shabby if I may say so myself.

What could we offer to trade for the Ravens awesome kicker? Former University of Texas Longhorn. Randy Bullock and a future third-round pick? He's only 25 years old with a golden leg. Already a one time all pro, one time pro bowler and a Super Bowl champion. So clutch. Justin Tucker is special.

Justin Tucker is on my fantasy team. I selected him before anybody else took a kicker. LOL

The Browns defense is destroying Robert Griffin III. They just drilled him to the ground on an incomplete third-down pass. RG3 got up slowly but appears not to be injured. Pierre Garcon can't even get open. The guy has a big mouth but no longer runs like he used to.. His mouth is the only thing that still moves fast. Imagine what our defense could have done to that Redskins offense if we were allowed to hit their quarterback?

During halftime highlights on NFL Network ...

Michael Irvin (ravens highlights): "Most guys when they say this is gonna be their last year you can count 'em out, but Steve Smith, he's still so mad about being as short as he is, you know he's got some more ..."

Sparkling bit of analysis.

I'm pretty sure Irvin is the color (no pun intended) commentator.

Seeing a noticeable difference in Bortle's throwing motion in the few times its been shown. Be interesting to see if it sticks through the season.

edit: Still like Henne's motion better.

**Jaguars TE Julius Thomas fractured the middle finger on his left hand in Friday's preseason game against the Steelers.

**Broncos RB C.J. Anderson took a big hit from Frank Clark after tackle Ty Sambrailo appeared to miss his block in the first quarter against Seattle Friday. Anderson fumbled and then limped off the field favoring his left leg slightly. The team said that his return is questionable.

Mariota stunk it up early
I'd take him.

Logan Thomas looked real good against the Chiefs yesterday. Especially considering so many said he wasn't a QB. His OL did a good job buying him time, but he helped them by going through his progression & making up his mind in the confines of his drop.

He was in & out of the huddle fast, he's identifying the rushers, making good reads, accurate throws... Arizona may very well have their QB of the future.

I'm a bad person.

I was hoping they took Luck out of the game for some season ending injury.

I thought Mariota looked fine. The INT didn't look like his fault. His RB stopped dead on a screen that Mariota obviously thought he was going to continue to carry outside. The only play I didn't like was the strip sack. He had a huge area to step up in and he just kept hanging back there where the rushers were.

Winston on the other hand looked terrible to start. He finished better than he started but he wasn't going against starters at the end. If he plays 16 games I guarantee he leads the league in INTs.

Quick analysis Chargers vs Cowboys

* offensively Gus Johnson ran it well..Vaughn was able to pass
seen few break downs but nothing overly bad

* defensively - nightmare no ability to get the QB, pressure? yes
corners and safeties still afraid to attack the ball..tackling is again
atrocious and 2 fumbles which didn't sit well with me

Imagine the satisfaction of SWEEPING the Colts WITH LUCK and perhaps eliminating them from the playoffs at THEIR place December 20.

Merry Christmas Horseshoes!

RG3 looks like utter garbage. Doesn't process info, has happy feet in the pocket, slow release, etc. When he's out there it looks like his #1 priority is not getting hit. He stood in the pocket and took a shot last night and the rest of the time he was in the game he was bailing out of his progressions and scrambling if the first read wasn't wide open. He's shell shocked and afraid to get hit. You can't play in the NFL with that mentality.

And I really can't handle all the analysts blaming the offensive line. If the #1 OL is that behind just think how bad the #2 and #3 OL must be. McCoy and Cousins are playing behind even worse OL's and they look like Brady and Manning compared to Griffin.

Game time, Seahawks at Chiefs
Wilson getting lots of pressure. Alex Smith getting knocked around.

Terrell Suggs goes cheap shot at back of Sam Bradford's knees after a handoff. Clothslines the TE away from the play, next. 3 penalties on T-Stupid = TD Eagles.

Chicago is a ZBS team now? I know they've run it a lot with Forte over the years, but so far through the first QTR (watching on NFLN) it looks almost exclusive.

It did look malicious but the penalty call was wrong. It was an option play and he was not attempting a pass. Maybe an unnecessary roughness call but not roughing the passer.
Yeah, just some kind of personal foul.

Knowing the situation and right off the bat like that -- neither of which are factors the referees can consider-- I'd have kicked him out of the game, I think. Might suspend him now. To me, his intent was to injure. I think he made a decision beforehand to blast him, go low.
