Karlos Dansby??? (veteran ILB) *signs with Arizona*

Better sign him. Wade was on 610 today and stated Sharpton is no where near ready for TC

Let's do it. I really like his 9 PD last year.

I really want Urlacher, but if we don't get him, I could get behind a Dansby signing, for sure. Either way, I'd like as much flexibility as possible to mix-n-match our LB's to the offense, to best determine how to beat NE this year.

I really can't see Dansby willing to sign a contract we can afford, but if they can make it happen, I'm on board.

If we can make it work financially I'd be pumped about adding him. The Cards look like the likely team to add him though among that group if it comes to money. Come join a beast defense 'Los and help get the Texans a ship!

Yeah, the Texans won't be able to offer him much of anything $$$ wise and maybe a chance for the playoffs and a ring. But, the Falcons can offer probably more $$$ and a chance for the ring too. It will take a miracle to get him to sign here. Better start praying  and living right if you want to get Dansby.

This is the NFL. If the Texans needed $8M to sign Dansby, they could find it. They can structure a deal.... Flacco is the second highest paid QB in the league (or something like that) & his cap number for 2013 will be less than the modestly paid Matt Schaub.

But if it doesn't make sense to pay KarlosDansby $8M the Texans won't do it.

Not a snowball's chance. Clabo's $4.5M drops off ATL's payroll next month, while we barely have enought space to pay our rookies.

That said, would be nice, though.

I think it largely depends on his desire to win a championship. This is his last chance to put his talents to use in a championship run. He has unique skills that will likely deteriorate quickly over the next few seasons.

Dansby isn't a headcase. I wanted him as soon as the draft was over and we didn't get an ilb. He is similar to the Bradie James signing, only he can still play.

Nah, he apparently wants a nice chunk of moolah to sign. Buffalo is kind of dumb letting him leave without a contract.

Maybe he just won't go to a team like the Bills or Jets without getting paid handsomely. If it were my last contract, or last big contract, I would want alot more money to play for the Bills than the Falcons or the Texans.

Me, too. Sounding like it's us v. Falcons v. a bunch of unlikely to be playoffs teams. He's a leader. He'll have to lower his salary demands.

Dansby was rated 13th out of 53 ILBs in 2012 (>25% snaps) by ProFootballFocus.

Interesting note: Last year their players formed a Leadership Council that would report to new head coach Joe Philbin. Those elected players were Jake Long, Reggie Bush, and Karlos Dansby. All 3 are no longer with the Dolphins.

Take if for what it's worth, but Pancakes said the Texans have no interest in Dansby

Has McClain been right about anything this offseason? It started when he said GQ was our main priority. He's a movie star now anyway. When he breaks news about a new movie filming I may listen.

After two years with the Dolphins, it looks like Dansby's going back to the Cardinals.

Honestly, I think it is just talk from Dansby people to up the price. This free agency 30+ players (in age) haven't been getting the contracts they hoped for and Dansby has been no different. The more teams they say are interested the better the contract they can try to get. Unless we are close to Smith's extension which will net us some space we have enough to sign our rookies and maybe a low budget guy. Dansby's contract would be a decent chunk of change.

Dansby to the Cards made too much sense. With Washington dealing with his issues and suspended at least for the first 4 games they had a big hole there. If I had to guess I'd say he's getting around 4 mil to play for them this year.

Heh, five posts at the same time. Well goodbye to this thread as I'm sure it's time to move this one. Cardinals putting a nice little squad together over there just when we have to play that division. It figures lol.

The Texans didn't want to pay the extra $85K LOL!

Good call on the number, TK.

$8.065M but it's just a one-yr contract if what I just read is true.
