San Fran is beating the Patriots 31-3 in the 3rd Quarter. We had a bad night against the patriots, bring them to houston in the play-offs and we will win that game, hell i think we could go to New England and win as well. Enough with all the negative talk every team has bad games and New England has had far more bad games than us.

We're 12-2 and in control of the AFC for homefield, and San Fran is helping us out quite a bit. So everyone can put back on their Kool Aid glasses and enjoy the ****ing ride.

I think it's more of a fact that Schaub is complete ass in primetime and every elite QB we've faced have torn us a new one.

Patriots got some breaks and we gave em some gifts. The 49ers are giving us multiple gifts. We also now know how to play this team better too.

We can still lose a game now and get HFA which I think is great, but I still would like the last game of the season to matter so that we are playing a meaningful game before we get to the playoffs

Schaub didn't play well. No question. But other than Watt and AJ who else on our team came to play?

The entire team laid an egg, not just Schaub

This isn't over. If they score here, the Pats can score quick enough to win this thing. They still have a qtr to go a TD here (31-17 49ers) & it's a 2 TD game.

Fact of the matter is that we have beaten every AFC playoff team we've faced save 1. That's a pretty good record. Yeah we didn't show up to play twice. We also crushed two playoff teams and coulda beaten Denver by a lot more had JJ made a pick or Tate didn't fumble.

This is a good team. I'm afraid of no one in the playoffs.

I just want to know why we couldn't stop the Patriots.

Look, I know even the Patriots can have "off games," but seriously what makes the Patriots such a hard matchup for our defense?

Does Wade's defenses have a hard time vs. spread offenses?

Oh, I get it. Anytime a team makes a comeback, that means the other team acted like Kubiak??

This f'king place deserves the negativity.

Nah, I think maybe it's just that your last name must also be Kubiak since you cannot stand ANYBODY ragging on the guy.

Blood is thicker than water and all that jazz....

Once Brady got his groove on the Pats scored 34 pts. You call that stopping the Patriots??

And speaking of getting one's groove on.... this is the time of year when Schaub's "A" game should emerge. Not seeing it.

san frans lb's are much more athletic in coverage than ours and sf actually has a pass rush against good teams and even then brady still put up points

Schaub is Brad Johnson. Never EVER going to be more than just a decent QB.

True.

Wade still has a winning record against Belichik.

We miss the Hell outta Cushing.
And we need to target his twin (you know what I mean) in the next draft. Not necessarily with our first pick but early enough to get quality.

The homer in me wants to believe that Wade rope-a-dope'd the Patriots.

The homer in me wants to believe that BOTH coaches basically used preseason "vanilla" knowing that all this was going to shake out somehow for us. A calculated, high risk/high reward move by both Wade and Gary.

If they did, they are the ballz.

But I just have to believe that we took them lightly, and that we can't cover them with what they bring to the LOS on every snap on offense. And I think Gary's offense sputters when facing elite teams. Pressure is too great.

I would rather we sign Cush's former college team mate:

Rey Maualuga (CIN) - MLB - As a prospect, steady, but unspectacular would have been the last words you may have expected to hear in 2009 when he entered the draft. As a hard-hitting linebacker, many loved the USC backer for his hard-hitting ability, while others felt he was only sought after because of that. Four years later, Maualuga has turned into a solid middle linebacker for the Bengals defense without turning the corner to the next tier, or falling jeopardy of losing his starting position. As one of the emotional leaders on the field, a return to the Bengals seems likely

Dont think he will be that expensive and the Bengals are notoriusly cheap. remember J Joe.

I will be watching Bowl Games specifically for ILBs.

Which teams do I watch to catch the best ILbs we can shoot for in the draft???

So if we make it to the SB do you think we could reschedule the game for 1PM?

Honestly, with it being in a dome...I think the time of the game won't matter.

Dome teams love domes. It's science.

Rams with Warner (a dome team) win it...in a dome.

Saints with Brees (a dome team) win it...in a dome.

Manning beat the Bears, but then again Manning in those days could play suspended upside down in a shark-infested tank with a straight jacket on and still win the game. Place and time never mattered to Manning back then. He's proving that to be true this year in Denver, btw.

Houston's chances hinge on two things: Getting HFA and hosting a AFCC game in our own house. Then playing the SB game in a dome, and even better: A dome near Houston.

All we need is for the Texans to handle business vs. Vikings. If that happens, I really think we're headed to the SB.

2000: Rams of the Warner-Faulk era, in the SB vs. the Titans, were the first dome team to win a Super Bowl. Ever. That was in the year 2000, and that game was played indoors in the Falcons' dome stadium.

2002: Rams made another Super Bowl appearance vs. Patriots, but lost to the Patriots. That game was held in a dome. So much for the dome advantage!

2007: Colts (a dome team) became the first dome team to win an outdoor SB game in NFL history.

2009: Cardinals (a dome team) lost to the Steelers in an outdoor stadium.

2010: Saints (a dome team) beat the Colts in an outdoor stadium.

Dome teams since 2000, five games during the span of 2000 to 2011, have won 3 SB games and lost 2 SB games. In SB's played inside a dome, a dome team has gone 1-1.

I like our odds if we get to play the SB in the Louisiana Superdome.

Just to add to the discussion about the losses..

Rams vs. Pats = playcalling was the worst ever by that moron Mike Martz. Nearly won despite that idiot.

Cardinals vs. Steelers = That game was in Tampa (warm). Aaron Francisco, STAY ON YOUR FEET!!!!

Also, 2007 and 2010 were in warm weather Miami.

Dome teams love good weather, to me.

1. Forgot about Martz.

2. The Cardinals had that game won, IMO. I felt the refs were helping the Steelers BIG TIME.

3. Yessir, I was going to say that outdoor games are played in favorable weather most of the time. Florida! I wouldn't like our chances, though, if we played an outdoor game at night. Seems like that combination is bad mojo.

You'd take those chances tho.

Come on man, If the Offense goes into Kubiak mode and dont get a damn first down 4 out of 5 possesions then they are giving the ball right back to New England. When they play man to man the entire first half and shut down the patriots and then in the 3rd go to zone and start getting torched that is also kubiak mode.

New England gets props for coming back but SF running 3 times for quick 3 and outs over and over also helped give brady that many chances to come back.

There was a bit of shell-shock to start the game. I bet they tried to prepare for Brady's quick snap, but when they actually saw it, it was faster & more complicated than they thought.

You could see they were looking for certain people & where they were lined up. Then we saw Hernandez uncovered. That tells me they were probably looking for Welker, too focused on Welker. Against the Pats, you've got to watch where everybody is. Welker, Hernandez, & Woodhead especially.

From the second qtr on, we played them as well San Francisco did. Four 3 & outs, 5 stops in the second & 3rd qtr. I think it was 7 possessions in that time & they only allowed two scores. I don't include the 4th qtr, because we already ran up the white flag.

but the defense adjusted & their performance should help us believe we can run with them defensively.

Your memory is faulty. It took Manning damn near a decade to finally get to the Super Bowl. And he won because he went up against Rex-freakin-Grossman. When they played a decent QB, Drew Brees, they got beat.

Manning's playoff record - from Pro-Football Reference:

Playoff Record as Starting QB:
1999 (0-1), 2000 (0-1), 2002 (0-1), 2003 (2-1), 2004 (1-1), 2005 (0-1), 2006 (4-0), 2007 (0-1), 2008 (0-1), 2009 (2-1), 2010 (0-1)

Throw out his SB year and his playoff record is 5-10. By comparison Brady's playoff record is like 16-6.
