The Packers game was the hardest to predict and I can see it going either way in a very close game. I'm going out on a limb with 12-4.

11-5

If we lose to Baltimore again I'm jumping off a bridge.

My thought exactly.

This is the year we get off the goose egg vs. Baltimore though. It's a numbers game and their numbers up.

They've got an aging defense, though still formidable, not as elite as years past. Suggs is out.

I think our D will hold them to 20 or less and Matt & Co. will put the numbers up with our young receiving corps contributing nicely as Arian gets his regular 100+ game against them with Ben chipping in a TD of his own.

THIS IS THE YEAR THE TEXANS SHAKE THE SCHNEID VS. THE RAVENS!

And I hope I'm there to see it live.

11-5, and please let us beat the damn Ravens. I strongly dislike that team.

I'd like to see JJ Watt throw Ray Rice across the field. Rice got yippy with Watt last year, and I was just thinking you may be a bad little dude but Watt could break you in half little man.

12 - 4

L @ gb, balt, det, ne

That is the easy prediction but just like every team we will beat someone we "shouldn't" and lose inexplicably to someone we should beat. It's the way of the NFL. 10+ regular season wins is what I care about.

13-3 Detroit game is the only toss up. I know some of you will be mad about Denver, but seriously, when was the last time we won during week 3? I am beginning to feel that it is cursed.

So true. Every year very good teams get unexpectedly upset by obviously bad teams having a good day. All I expect of the Texans this year, and will be upset as hell if they don't deliver, is another AFCS title. After that, we shall see what we shall see.

If not for a few plays, we could have beat the Ravens in the playoffs last year. So the Texans ending up in the AFC championship should not surprise anyone.

7-1 Home record, 4-4 Road record, 11-5 overall.

MIA - WIN...respect to Mike Sherman, but your team sucks.
@JAC - WIN...Mike Mularkey was their answer?
@DEN - WIN...Denver's defense is really that bad...Peyton who?
TEN - WIN...will Andre select a new sparring partner?
@NYJ - LOSS...Kubiak has never beaten Ryan (with Jets or Ravens).
GB - WIN...Aaron Rodgers gets thumped repeatedly.
BAL - WIN...first win over BAL in franchise history (see above note).
BYE
BUF - WIN...zzzzzzzzzzz.
@CHI - WIN...Marshall outgains Johnson but Texans get road win.
JAC - WIN...zzzzzzzzzzz.
@DET - WIN...road trip starts with a win despite short week, but then...
@TEN - LOSS
@NE - LOSS
IND - WIN
MIN - WIN...first win over MIN in franchise history.
@IND - WIN

Houston has never beaten BAL...0-6, NYJ...0-5, or MIN...0-2 (also SD and PHI for that matter, but Houston doesn't play them this season). Two of those streaks are over...Texans win the home games (BAL and MIN) and lose to the Jets on the road.

The only two teams that have never beaten the Texans are CHI...0-2 and MIA...0-6.

10-6, division champion. Might be 9-7 dropping the last Indy game since we'd be resting starters though.

9-7.

Sun 9/9: Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans - W (Blow out)
Sun 9/16: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars - W
(Blow out. Without MJD at full speed, they struggle to move the ball against us.)

Sun 9/23: Houston Texans at Denver Broncos - L (Wake up)
Sun 9/30: Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans - W
Mon 10/8: Houston Texans at New York Jets - W
Sun 10/14: Green Bay Packers at Houston Texans - L
(Close loss to GB. We feel like we did after losing to the Saints last year.)

Sun 10/21: Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans - W
(We've had the better team for a while now, and we finally win.)

Sun 10/28: BYE
Sun 11/4: Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans - W
(Buffalo looked great the first half of the season, but they're out of gas.)

Sun 11/11: Houston Texans at Chicago Bears - W
Sun 11/18: Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans - W
(MJD is back, so no blow out.)

Thu 11/22: Houston Texans at Detroit Lions - W
(Their line can't hold up to our running attack.)

We're 9-2! We're near the top of the power rankings. We realize here that we just need one more win to clinch the division!

Sun 12/2: Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans - L
Mon 12/10: Houston Texans at New England Patriots - L
Sun 12/16: Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans - W

We won the division! Can we get the first round bye?

Sun 12/23: Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans - L
Sun 12/30: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts - L

10-6, division champion.

Looks to be a replay of last year.

We handle the wildcard game soundly.

We face the Ravens again in the divisional round. But we're off the script when Holiday goes yard with a punt return! We beat the Ravens to the ground and they're forced to accept that we are the better team (the Ravens' players don't say it, but they know it. Ray Lewis realizes that the game has passed him by.)

In the AFC championship we handle the Patriots like the Giants do. Before the game we hear about what a genius the cheater Belichick is, but that talk dies down in the second half.

Then in the SB, we prove to Green Bay that defense still wins championships! (Next year starts with GB back at the top of the power rankings.)

Here we go,

Sun 9/9: Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans - W
Sun 9/16: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars - W
Sun 9/23: Houston Texans at Denver Broncos - L
Sun 9/30: Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans - W

Sun 11/4: Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans - W

Sun 12/16: Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans - W
Sun 12/23: Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans - W
Sun 12/30: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts - W

13-3 I think that is too high actually but I have already given other teams wins that I think we'll win so not sure what to do.

I call it 12-4 cause we'll get a bad bounce in some random game we should win because that is football.

13-3. Starters will be resting in the final game of the season. Homefield will be locked up.

Why does everyone have us losing in Denver? I just don't think Peyton will mesh with his receivers by the third week. Just don't see it as an automatic "L". If Newton and Brown can handle Dumerville and Miller coming off the edges and give Matt the time, he'll carve up the Donks LBs & secondary. If he has to unload it quickly at first then we'll see KMart excel in the slot and a few of those quick slants to AJ and OD will be lethal up the seam. That'll slow down the rush a tad and then here comes #23 right down their throats. When Arian needs a blow we pound 'em with the Tater.

On the other side of the ball, Manning's going to see first hand what he watched on his widescreen last season. Who's coming from where and when? He won't know for a while 'cause he'll be on his back hearing little birdies singing to him. Poor guy.

I'm one of the very few but I see this one in the "W" column.

Same thing with Green Bay and the Ravens.

It's been said many time in history but here it is again: If you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best.

And we will.

By no means did I have the Denver game as an automatic "L". I think it is very realistic that Houston can start the season 5-0. A slip-up can happen though, and @Denver is the most likely to me. Why? Because it will be on the road against a team that could be playing for their lives early in the season.

And no matter how well Manning is meshing with his receivers, the beginning of their season is going to make-or-break that team. Six of their first eight games are against playoff teams from last year. The other two are against divisional rivals.

I see what you mean. I just think the Texans are going to give Peyton a welcome back to the NFL on his back.

Just don't see our guys dropping this one. Yeah, it could happen. I just don't think it will.

i dont care how we get to the afc championship, but i want to be against pittsburgh. here or there i dont care. over 30 something years of payback would be nice!:logo:

I'm going to say 12-4. That prediction is based on quite a few things, but if we're healthy then I see us getting to the 12 win mark. It was attainable last year before we got hit by the injury bug, and that's with us blowing some very winnable games against NO and Oakland. I want to see that killer instinct we had weeks 7-10 when we made the game look easy. We were good in turnover differential the first 13 weeks of the season last year. If we retain that sort of dominance in that column then I don't see many teams out there that are going to beat us.
