Torri Williams impressing at corner

Vance Joseph praising Williams and him moving well as a 6'2" corner with long speed.

Roc is looking pretty good as well from another article I read. Can we go from having no corners to having several really good ones?:turtle:

Edit: My screw up. :tinfoil:

Sounds like Vance really likes the guy. I'm interested to see him now. Haven't paid much attention to him in the past, but it sounds like he's pretty much has a spot which he'll have to lose in order to not make the team. I'm not a mcmannis fan, so if he can take his spot that'd be good.

Brice McCain will be a free agent next year, and judging by the contract Jason Allen got, he may be gone. Williams sounds like the same mold of a player, though I haven't seen him play yet, he may be in line to be our nickel corner in 2013.

Texans got a lot of players at corner, just hope Harris, Carmichael, and Williams can progress and become solid players. They invested some decent draft picks on Harris and Williams so we will see.

You'd have to think (or hope) that Brandon Harris is waiting to fill that role. They were calling Harris the nickle back last offseason before McCain shone.

Things don't always work out like they're supposed to, but you'd think Harris would be McCain's successor.

Maybe, but I think they will have Harris competing for the CB spot Allen left. Harris, Carmichael and the others should be looking to get that 25-50% of KJ's spot.

Not sure on the Brice McCain front, nickel is an ever more important position in today's NFL, McCain seems to be moving towards a reputation as one of the best, he may be one that the coaches are desperate to keep hold of, whether money allows or not.

Glad to hear positive things about the guys coming through behind though.

Every year we hear about some player lighting it up and then when the season starts they still suck, the main guy of old was Okoye. Hopefully he actually improved and can help our team, if JJO gets hurt, we're doomed at corner.

If McCain and some other team views him as a starter he will probably be gone. I can't see a team giving a huge contract to a guy they see as just a nickel though. Even in the nfl's pass happy league. He's going to have to at least be a rotational starter (like allen was) and starting nickel to justify a big contract IMO.

Kareem needs to step up more this coming season. Corners are going to get beat, but he's got to make more plays on the ball. The opportunities are there.

If he can't take that next step I think the guys behind him including McCain could see some of his snaps.
