Tebow throws for 3:16 yards...

Tebow is the top jersey seller in the NFL and still in the NCAA. THAT is the reason for the massive media coverage. Folks really like the guy and he's bringing non-football people into the picture. Money talks, and advertisers listen.

I love that the Broncos punked the Steelers. Eff the Steelers. If there is one team that could stand some heartbreak after winning 6 freakin' Super Bowls, it's the Steelers. All things considered, the old Oiler fan in me is laughing his ass off at their loss.

I was growing tired of the media hype, too, and still am to some extent. But damn, that OT last night was just awesome. As a football fan, I have to just step back and give credit where credit is due.

The OT winning play could be on " The Thrill of Victory " intro for the Wide World of Sports . I get tired of Tebow's hype some times but I do think he's a good guy and would rather him win than Big Ben . I don't think Tebow will break and that's why he's a winner . I've seen many a guy who'd come apart like a cheap rug facing the adversity he does .

I'd really like to see Tebow here in a week and a half . Go Tebow go .

My friend posted this on Facebook. I got a chuckle out of it.

"Does anyone else find it odd that the officials in the Pitt/Den game are named Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John?"

Anyone who is a doubter baffles me. The game was clearly a sign....

...that Stone Cold is a Broncos fan.

Just had to give y'all one more piece. LOL

According to Yahoo Sports Article:

The fact that Tebow had 316 yards passing and averaged 31.6 yards per pass in the game didn't escape notice on Sunday night. Tebow wore "John 3:16" on his eye black in the 2009 BCS Championship game and has since become identified with the famous Bible message. The coincidental stats caused millions of fans to perform Google searches on the Bible passage in the past 24 hours. Here's one more unbelievable stat: John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that the final quarter-hour television rating for the Broncos-Steelers game was, you guessed it, 31.6.

Great point. He's a likeable guy and a much better role model than the majority of pro athletes

Alot of players write stuff on their eye black. This is nothing new and has no affect that the networks, specifically ESPN choose to spend all of their time talking about Tebow. It's not Tebow's fault, it's the stupid networks. It's the way they have always been though and they ain't changing now. How much did we have to hear about Favre, too bad they can't actually cover the whole league, they always laser focus in and run stories into the ground.

A lot of players? I have only seen Reggie Bush do the area code and Tebow's famous National Championship 3:16 marketing scheme.

For some reason I missed the picture so I missed the sarcasm and repped you here.

What the hell does his eye stickers have to do with anything?? I don't remember you making a big deal out of this the last few years when other players were putting area codes and other things on there's. Tebow put a bible vs on his. So what?? I would have never even noticed that or even cared had you or the media "not brought that up." Why don't you show me where Tebow goes out of his way to get in the media and to promote himself like a guy like TO, Chad Johnson, or Shaq used to try and do. I've seen tons of players talk about their faith and their religion for decades. The difference is that the media didn't talk about it every day for several hours. You ever heard of Brian Dawkins?? Reggie White?? Those guys do it all of the time, but you never hear the media talk about Dawkins like that? I had a fun time rooting for Tebow early on in the season and really enjoyed some of the comebacks. Now I can't stand to hear about him on tv and want him to play bad only so I can hear about the rest of the league again. Tebow has never shown that he is a guy that's out for the limelight or personal accolades.

Yeah, I just don't get it at how folks can't understand that there is a network called ESPN that runs these stories. It's like they completely forget that and either feel that Tebow or Favre all of a sudden became the producer at ESPN and the NFL network and they're making the viewers have to swallow this garbage. In my personal opinion with this kind of news, most athletes don't want this much coverage.

Sorry you missed the picture and mistakenly repped me as a result. Either way, I really appreciated it. I like green rep. Thanks!!

Well, you won't be seeing it anymore.
NCAA changed the rule after Tebow's Nat'l Championship year.

Me too! I am loving this media frenzy. I am loving how it has soured people. Grown men are throwing temper tantrums that would put my 2 1/2 year old to shame. It is hilarious. I tell you what... Tim Tebow is a modern day holy war waiting to happen. Blood WILL be shed over Timmy Tebow one way or another. People are THAT stupid. I am not speaking of anyone from this board of course... just people in general. Plenty of bat**** crazies out there.

I loved last night. I immediately thought of Hervoyel and had a much needed laugh.

So... were a lot of people doing it before Timmy and Reggie? Was this a widespread problem or... is it that Timmy irked enough people?

Honestly, I know that it was happening a LOT at smaller schools. But I really and truly think that it was Tebow's display and notoriety(sp) that caused the rule change.

The difference is that an area code isn't controversial, but religion is. The NCAA didn't want to be associated with promoting religion, so they banned all eyeblack writing to avoid more controversy.

It doesn't look like this is true.

And Tim Tebow and his agents knew that. That's why they waited for the National Championship audience before unleashing the great marketing plan.

Tim Tebow did not wait for the National Championship game. He had multiple bible verses on his eye-black when he was at Florida. Along with John 3:16 he had Ephesians 2:8-10 & Philippians 4:13 on his eye-black when he was a Gator.

...if I remember there started being a lot of questionable things, such as:

(that would be the Buckeye cheater Pryor)

It was headed towards a bad place, so they banned it.

Tim Tebow sets a new record for Twitter/tweets

Tim Tebow not only caused fans to erupt in living rooms across the country by lifting the Broncos past the Steelers on Sunday night. He also created a firestorm of reaction on social media.

Tebow's heroics set a new record for tweets generated by a sports moment -- 9,420 tweets per second.

Tebow's thrilling touchdown pass beat out the following top moments in Twitter sports history:

July 17, 2011: Team USA loses Women's World Cup to Japan (7,196 tweets per second). The U.S. women's national team captivated many both serious and casual soccer fans across America. Japan's rise to glory after a devastating series of earthquakes and tsunamis captivated the world.

May 28, 2011: Barcelona defeats Manchester United in UEFA Champions League final (6,303 tweets per second). Manchester United is to European club soccer as the New York Yankees are to baseball -- and polarizing teams generate excitement online, especially in defeat.

June 12, 2011: Dallas defeats Miami to win NBA championship (5,531 tweets per second). The 2010-11 Miami Heat were perhaps the greatest villains in recent sports history. Twitter erupted when LeBron James was sent home ringless in a Game 6 loss to the Mavericks.

Tebow also beat out major moments in pop culture history, including Beyonce's pregnancy announcement at the MTV Video Music Awards which checked in at 8,868 tweets per second on Aug. 28, 2011.

Even the news of Osama bin Laden's death didn't generate as much Twitter reaction as Tebow. On May 2, 2011, tweets about bin Laden's death generated 5,106 tweets per second.

My apologies. Again, the biblical references are intent on drawing attention. That IS certain. His EPH quote apparently riled the Roman Catholics as he wore that one in Louisiana. Personally, I don't understand religious racism very well but I do understand that its hate is at its darkest within their own hypocritical circles.

Why did the quote rile the Roman Catholics? Can you elaborate?

I wouldn't see the Roman Catholics being upset with it considering there own pro religious and pro life stances.

I do see why the NCAA would ban the quotes because of the war on Christianity.

When I looked up "Tebow EPH" via Google.com, it took me to a couple postings where people felt that he could have picked a better verse... it apparently is a hot button topic within the Protestant vs Roman Catholics debates. He, a Protestant, went into New Orleans, a heavily Roman Catholic region. Some people were offended by that act.

Listen... I don't know anything. I am not a religious person. I am just slinging the intra-webs. I am just enjoying the Tebow ride. Kid's a football player.

Meh, people will complain about anything to just split hairs sometimes.

I found this in Battleredblog. Pretty funny:

also, I enjoyed this

I don't mind Tebow at all. The media hype doesn't bother me because I don't watch ESPiN or the like. Same goes for all the Christian talk... I am indifferent.

What I do like is an entertaining football game. Scratch that... how bout an entertaining 4th quarter? I'm willing to watch the last 15 minutes of any Broncos game with Tebow at the helm. I've done so several times this year and each time it was worth it.

:twocents:

It's all good man. I like watching Tebow and I like him as a player and a person, but it sucks that I have to root for him to play poorly now because the media won't cover any other teams hardly at this point. And it flat out disgusts me that the Texans don't even get coverage and that Yates doesn't even get talked about when he has done several Tebow like things in his few games as a starter.

I don't care. GO TEXANS AND GO BRONCOS. All Yates has to do is just keep on winning and the media will get it eventually.

Tebow throws for 1:36

sooo does this mean anything significant?

I goto say that o-line looked worse than the old Car year Texans, ouch.

Luke 1:36

Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month

If you add up Tebow and Jeremiah Johnson's rush yards you get 23. Their longest runs were 14 and 6, total 20.

Ezekiel 23:20: There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

You are heading for hades my friend . Well ... at least now I don't have to go to ancestory.com to find my family tree . :doot:

CBS wants Broncos' Tim Tebow on studio show
By Michael Hiestand, USA TODAY

CBS doesn't want to give up on Tim Tebow's drawing power.

CBS has put in a request to have Tim Tebow in the studio, but hasn't heard back yet.

The network wants Tebow to sit in as a guest analyst in its NFL studio Sunday. "We've had conversations with his people," CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said Sunday. "We have a request in. We haven't heard back."

CBS expects an answer by midweek...

ABCs The Bachelor wants Tebow,

As does Dancing With The Stars and American Idol.

Good Morning America wants Tebow to co-host, and CBS News wants Tebow to anchor the Evening News in his off season.

Every GOP candidate is scrambling for Tebow's endorsement, but the Republican Party does not want Tebow as a Presidential candidate because, "We don't feel we can $work$ with him."

Finally, Kim Kardashian is guaranteeing that Tebow will lose his virginity to her (and her sisters) if he signs on with Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
