Anyone else make the same mistake?

I have watched damn near 100% of every game ever played by this team and I have been beaten down enough to be able to turn on my apathy switch on demand when this stuff happens.

But, yet again, towards the end, I bypassed that and let myself get worked up thinking somehow, finally, the Texans would pull something off......aaaaaaaaaaaand FAIL.

I'm not blaming Schaub (yes I saw the LB coming at him) or anyone else, so save any defense of anyone on the team.....I'm just saying in general it seems like the Texans are crap magnets for this ****.

Anyway, I let myself get worked up to be let down again and even let myself get pissed in front of my daughter which is clearly a rookie Texans fan mistake lol.

So, was just curious how many other people keep ignoring their internal apathy switch so this crap can get under your skin....again......and again....etc.

I'll never miss a game if I can help it and will always be with the Texans but damn they can really make it hard sometimes....that's all I'm saying and I keep letting myself get duped into it emotionally.

yeah i am one of them as well, i dont know why i fall for it every time they are in a close game, i must love to have my heart broken.

That's the thing, and I think that's why some folks get "taken to task" for always being a Debbie Downer. This team loses more games like this than any other team I've seen much of, and has for years. And every time I'm close to thinking that's history, that I can go "all in" for optimism about the rest of the season, games like this crap on you and suck that out of you.

And this game had all the elements of a "tragic" Texans loss, with the injury to Mario being the cherry on top. This one may epitomize what it means to be a Texans fan even more than the Rosencopter game did. It had it all: cautious first half optimism, a fear about losing momentum in the second half, losing the lead late in the game, clinging to hope for the type of last-second rally that usually happens *against* the Texans, and have it implode spectacularly with a turnover in their end zone.

The only element that was missing was a last-second Raider score to beat us. But the flip side was the last second pick, which is close enough in the "lose on the final play" department.

I know a lot of the more optimistic, "cheery" fans take some of us to task for this, but wow, I've just never seen a team that knows how to lose heartbreakers like this with such maddening regularity. Recently the Cowboys under Tony Romo come close, but they also have Super Bowl rings and playoff appearances to fondly remember.

But the floggings will continue until morale improves...

I'm not apathetic towards the team......that is not what was said. I wouldn't spend 3 hours of my time with daughter on Sunday's watching a team I didn't care about.

Once again, I can turn on my apathy switch about the game at hand typically when needed on a given week after years and years of Rosencopter-esque failures.
