Good Arian article

Some of these players, surely, live in fantasy worlds where players are paid millions just to play a game. Some of them, just some, live a little closer to where the sky ends and the ground starts. Arian Foster is one of the latter:

"I grew up where sometimes the lights weren't on or sometimes we didn't eat dinner at night. You know, my daughter lives well, my wife lives well and I live well," Foster said "I believe in karma. You take care of the universe; the universe takes care of you."
He knows his time is coming and for right now, he's comfortable. Maybe it's because he didn't always have electricity or food, maybe it's because he knows that he's lucky to be doing this period, much less to do it and live on the higher end of society even if he's one of the least paid in his profession. He'll get his money, the "universe" will take care of that. ;)

A friend once made a good point. She said that people who grow up poor, but come into money turn into one of two types of people:

1) They become obsessed with material things because they've never had them.

2) They become humble and save money because they know what it's like to be poor.

I think you make a good point. I think Arian realizes that, at one point, he was flat broke, and now he makes a half million dollars per year, which is enough to pay his bills and take care of his wife and daughter until he makes more money.

The kid is a psych. major, so his take is a bit different in how he see things, but not necessarily wrong. Actually seems to be pretty squared away between the ears. I like him. Kind of a Ricky Williams type without the hippy lettuce.
