Antonio Cromartie could see himself as a Texan...

I've never really regarded Cro as a very good example of a human being... not that it really has any affect of his game.
 
There's a lot of people who are throwing the Texans name around. Cromartie is smart, waiting out until after Nmandi signs. It's the smart thing to do.

The problem is, with so much talent out there (FA/Undrafted FAs/Etc) and such little time, I wouldn't be surprised if we miss the boat on a lot of them.

FAgency has never been our strong suit. *cough cough* Green ring any bells?

I can definitely foresee us being left in the dust when FA begins.

There'll be immediate signings, and at the end of the day the Texans will have to settle for what's leftover.

Then we'll be ASSURED by Texans brass that "our guy(s)" was exactly who we targeted the whole time. Fits our scheme and what we want to do, and blah blah blah.

I figure the only chance the Texans have to come out looking as if they really wanted to get quality help in FA is to sign Aso within the first 30 minutes of activity OR to have signed a CB & S combination by the end of the day.

If we don't make a play for the top tier guys, we'll know that Bob McBumble has botched it or mailed it in altogether. Which I think is likely on either account. At least that's the odds I give it.
 
Cromartie can see himself playing for anyone that helps him make his 6 child support payments. I think it's 6, not sure but the guy is all about money and making illegitimate babies.

I have to agree here, the Texans will pump sunshine up our ass if they don't get who they're targeting.

I hope we are all wrong. I've barely been able to tolerate any football this off season. I'm still pissed from last year and the fact we still have Kubiak PLUS Wade Phillips ...

I heard the Texans are having some fans get in SUVs and drive to where ever ASO is at.....sorry that was Rockets and another free agent.

No way. Asomugha does sooooo much more for the defense than Cromartie could ever dream of doing. Nnamdi is a very, very rare player that is worth every dime spent.
 
Joseph isn't going to be much cheaper than Aso, and Weddle is the top safety prospect in FA and will get paid like it. Joseph and Weddle are more of a longshot than Nnamdi

Please, Please, Please find me one example of any team ever saying, "We really wanted player x, because he is the shiznizh.. player y was our second choice, but we screwed the pooch on that one too.

We had to settle for player z. He doesn't improve our chances of winning, but we had to do something."

You bring up the negative in Green and I'll bring up the positive in Arian Foster. He was an undrafted FA pick up by Smith.
