What if we'd made the 2009 playoffs?

That season saw a lot of freak plays in the final seconds that cost us the game. If any one of them had gone the other way, it would have been a 10-win season with a wild card berth.

How would you feel today if that had happened, with the 2010 season being exactly the same? I know I wouldn't be calling for Kubiak's firing, but I'd be mighty bewildered at the strange turn of fortunes.

Can't play the hypothetical card around here bruh

What if McNair had dumped Kubiak after 2009? Or 2008, for that matter? Maybe the Texans would have become a playoff team by now.

Hypotheticals cut both ways. Ifs and buts were cakes and nuts....

I didn't realize that this was a rule, what with all of the speculation about our next head coach. And I can't lock this thing myself, so we're all stuck with it until people stop going :strangle: because I asked, "What if?"

If we had made the playoffs last year, then many people would have seen this year as an even bigger failure.

This board is filled with hypothetical threads, so TheShark316 needs to wake up. That was a stupid statement to make on a message board...

Agree with this statement because we would have expected another incremental improvement. The expectation would have been to win a playoff game at least.

Yeah, the flaming we are seeing now is nothing like what it could have been. People were excited at getting close last year. If we had made the playoffs last year, any failure to reach them this year would be inexcusable.nthat spelling doesn't look right, but it's xmas eve...give me a break).

With the defense playing the way they were last year and the arrival of Arian Foster, we could've gone deep in the playoffs. I always thought about the same thing and was going to make a similair thread and never had time.

So, if we had gone deep last year, how would you feel about this year, compared to how you feel now?

Had we gone 10-6 and made the playoffs then we'd still be sitting here staring at the possibility of 5-11 and the 2010 season would be even more of a disappointment than it already is.

Kubiak wasn't exactly sitting on solid ground at 9-7, I can't see how 10-6 would have made him any more unassailable. I think McNair would probably be a lock to keep him if we'd been 10-6 with a playoff berth (assuming a one and done appearance) because he'd think he had his "winner" and that the 2010 season just had some bad breaks go against us.

I wouldn't alter my opinion one bit however. We can do better in the coaching department.

who would we have played ???? jets and ravens were WC right so i guess Jets would have been bumped out

we would have prob played the Pats again

either way u make a good point if we had made it in last year beat the pats then prob this years faliures would prob have lest people claming for Kubes head

What if Kubiak paid to take all the PSL holders to Disney World (the good one) and rode Space Mountain with everyone? He would buy everyone a hot dog and cotton candy and take pictures with you and Goofy! It would be the best offseason ever! I bet most of you would want to keep him then! Right? Haha WRONG! Kubiak would never ride Space Mountain, He can't even watch a field goal kick!

That's my major concern with Kubiak. Too many times, a freak play at the end costs us games. Not just last season, this season too. Eventually you have to stop blaming bad luck.

We would have played @ Cincy.

To answer the question, Kubiak probably gets fired in week 15. lol

think i'm joking? ****, go 5-9 after making a decent playoff run...you won't have your job.

For me, with the offense playing a one half (or less) game (same as last year), and the defense playing worse than last year, my level of disgust for what's happened this year could not be brought to levels much higher than what I am presently experiencing.:shades:
