Coaches finally, begrudgingly, kicking and screaming....decided to try someone besides Slaton and Jacoby back there.

First time all year where it actually looked like we were one tackle away from breaking a huge return.

Kubiak makes Jim Tressel look like a riverboat gambler out there.

And he actually made it past the 20 yard line, although he did have a penalty on a different special teams play. I think Slaton is done.

I was abit confused on that penalty. Did the ref say he ran out of bounds and didnt come back on the field?

Did anyone else notice that Slaton is sporting a massive gut? He's sorta always had that but it seems bigger than ever

It looks like more of a passive-aggressive temper tantrum now. "I'm a runningback, not a kick returner coach, look- see how much I suck at it."

Slaton has been utterly horrid as a KR .... I'd rather see David Aderson back there returning kicks than him. There was a 4 game stretch earlier in the season where Slaton made a mistake in each game , one the out of bounds at the 1 .... and three times he put the ball on the turf in attempting to catch it.

I dont think there is a spot on this team for Slaton next season if Ben Tate is healthy. Foster , Ward and Tate would be a nice group of backs.

They really need to find someone who can return kickoffs , their starting field position has to be near the bottom of the league.

JJ hasnt been all that great at returning punts this season either .... Im wondering if thats on JJ or the guy's supporting him on the return team.

Horrible field position has lead to short fields more often than not for opponents. That along with their inability to stop anyone thru the air is why they have a sub .500 record.

I'd like to see McManis get some playing time in the 3 remaining games, and
I don't mean just kick-retuns. How about a serious # of snaps at corner,
in regualr game situations ? The experience is invalable.

If he has recovered from ACL surgery, the PR/KR this team is looking for is named James Rodgers. He also would be a great slot receiver. IMHO He's what Holliday was supposed to be and probably could be had for a 6/7 th rd pick.

Hometown boy does good story.

I don't think JJ has had any room to return. (The few punts I see and the punts usually are pinning us deep) there is absolutely no blocking. and t

It seems like our coachs teach the players to run right up the middle right into a defender. I always thought it was better to cut to outside.

David Anderson? Didn't he try that once? I think he's got just the one return and a fumble to go with it.

I sure wish Jones headed up north when he returned that kick in OT. He lost three yards on the return making it a bit more difficult for Schaub. Having those three yards is probably the difference in the game considering Schaub was pressured in the endzone having to get rid of the ball in that instance instead of taking the sack which would have lost the game anyway.
