Vikes fire Chili, Frazier named Interim

Wow.... another midseason coaching change.

I wonder if the Vikes respond or if they keep on mailing it in? Also, I wonder if Frazier sits old Brint down.

Not good news for those on Team Leslie Frazier

WOW! Makes me sick to my stomach to see these other teams fire their coaches and we just keep trotting the same old **** out on the field. Having said that, I'm a little surprised he got the axe...... Guess their owner wasn't falling for the ol' "almost there and it's not the coach's fault that the players dropped the ball or didn't make the tackle" trick.

yall must not get it if Kubes goes some of yall fav players will be gone 2

ummm yall know 100% of the capers players are gone

He had to do this, the team had quit on Chili, much like the Cow chips had quit on Wade. Our team hasn't quit on kubes, they just suck to the high heavens.

You say this like it's a bad thing...

Exactly. In the free agency era, you have to realize that some of the players you like aren't going to be there forever. I'm cool with that.

And if regime change in the coaching ranks means some roster turnover - SO BE IT.

Andre, Matt and Arian ain't going anywhere, regardless of the coach. These are the only three I'm really worried about. Everyone else...it's been real, but...be gone.

Good post. Both coaches were hired in Jan 2006. Both have gotten 4.5 years so far. Childress has won his division twice, made the playoffs twice, the NFC Championship game, and still got the axe.

Kubiak has never won his division, never made the playoffs, or a Championship game, and still has a job.

Some owners demand results. Others demand profits.

No our team hasn't quit on Kubiak. They really like him and they like playing for him. I don't think our team would quit on him for any of the reasons many of the fans have. What I am afraid of is what are players are thinking about our defensive play right now. Are our offensive players pissed? I wonder what the defensive players are thinking of the calls and schemes?

My fear is not in what Kubiak has done to this point but maybe what he might not do. You know Schaub is pissed about the way we lost yesterday. Do the players want Bush canned? Should someone on the "D" get fired and somebody replaced? Would that be a step in the right direction, if only from a player/Kubiak standpoint. Would they get frustrated with Kubiak if we go on the rest of the season with everything as is?

I'm not normally a fan of Change for the sake of change. I'm not. But would changing up the D be benificial for our offense to know Kubiak is trying to do something about it and not just blindly going about business?

Chli just signed a contract extention last yr.

See Uncle BoB you can fire people during the season or even after the season lockout or no lockout.

Glad to see owners like Wilf. Guys that wont stand for mediocriyy.

Time to fire Bush and some of his kids now and Smithiak after the season.

Wilf set the precedent for you Uncle BoB.

ANd the end of the season when the new coach looks at the film seeing the players who quit are usually out the door

You know the owners been wanting to do this ever since Chili cut Moss without touching bases with him, so he probably got some satisfaction
out of canning the HC.

Trent Dilfer said something interesting after Wade Phillips was fired. He said someone pulled him aside early in his career and warned him that everything players do is captured on film, and that they are all constantly under evaluation.

He said it made him realize that they have to give it their all, ALL the time, because new coaches could come in and evaluate people based on film.

It was very interesting insight and something I hadn't thought about before.

Dang that really is interesting. Smart thing for a young player to hear.

Brad Childress - 39-34
Gary Kubiak - 35-39

:gun:

And he was one play away from the Super Bowl last year.

The message is clear IMO for this franchise's owner - don't mess with the bottom line. For disclosure's sake - I am complicit to the bottom line efforts.

Perhaps McNair is worried what may happen to the kids.

Maybe, because I haven't a clue why he should remain HC of the Texans. But hey, the organization has allowed people that McNair likes to hang around longer than they should so I'm not expecting a change at HC.

This is not good for my boy Karl Dunbar for defensive coordinator campaign.

He will no doubt become the interim d-coordinator in Minnesota and if Frazier stays on, which I expect, he will be their future d-coordinator.

Sigh. So much for that.
