Arrests in the NFL-Bengals are #1

No surprise here. I guess this guy put together a database

http://cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/

With the signing of Adam Jones today, CNBC Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell notes that there have been 498 active NFL players arrested since 2000. How did Rovell get this information?

Brent Schrotenboer of the San Diego Union-Tribune has compiled a database involving arrests of NFL players since 2000 that were more serious than speeding tickets. Schrotenboer says on the database that the list should not be considered as the comprehensive record but it does help out in charting a couple statistics. Notably …

In what should not be considered a shock, the Bengals lead the league in most arrests since 2000 and are tied for most arrests since 2005. When it comes to since ‘07 though there are four teams ahead of them.

According to the Union-Tribune there have been 31 arrests involving Bengals since 2000. They are not the runaway leader though. Minnesota trails by one with 30 while Denver, Jacksonville and Kansas City are tied for third with 25.

In arrests since 2005, Cincinnati and Jacksonville are tied with 20. Tennessee has 19 and Minnesota and Denver are tied with 17.

In arrests since 2007, Jacksonville (15), Denver (12), Miami (12), Tampa Bay (10) and Atlanta (10) have more than the Bengals’ nine. Pittsburgh also has nine while Cleveland has eight and Baltimore four.

Meanwhile, the list:

Jacksonville with 15 since 2007? Didn't see that one coming.

Also, for the Vikings, does that include the party boat scandal?

We have 9 total?

Let's see: Chester Pitts, Jameel Cook, Jerome Mathis, Jacoby Jones, Fred Weary... who else is there? Ryan Moats never got arrested did he, just that terrible cop run-in at the dallas hospital?

Notice anything similar about most of the top 10?

Cincinnati
Minnesota
Jacksonville
Denver
Kansas City
Miami
San Diego
Tennessee
Cleveland
Tampa Bay

Most of those places are boring, cold, or both lol. Miami is the exception

Nothing boring about SD, and it's obviously not cold there. BUT, I can see why Cinn is #1. I'm just surprised Cleveland is as far down on the list as they are.

He had just joined Dallas, I thought, and then they cut him. Unless he had another one before it. Nice to see Dallas down the list in the 2000s

Didn't catch your post, but yeah Marcus was a member of the Cowboys when that happened.

On an up note, he takes responsibility for it and he's not afraid to discuss it openly on the radio.

I believe he was a 'gurl when that arrest happened.

Oooops.. We were wrong. He was also arrested in 2004 (as a Texan).

A criminal background search also showed he was pulled over and convicted in 2004 for driving while under the influence in Harris County.

Coleman also was sentenced to six months probation in 2004 for driving with a suspended license in Sugar Land, the Fort Bend County suburb southwest of Houston.

The 2004 offenses occurred while Coleman played for the Texans.

Cowboys Cut Marcus Coleman After DWI Arrest

Sorry Cak!

He was drinking with Jamie Sharper and one or two other Texans and ran into a tree while driving home from drinking at the Mexican restaurant next to Downing Street at Kirby and Westheimer.

He was then arrested again in Dallas and let go.

Edit - ooops that's what I get for not reading the whole thread.

Wasn't Dunta also popped for DUI his first or second year?
And I know Mario was busted for his speeding, but do not remember if he was arrested or not.
