2010 Texans Schedule

The difference this year is that we can win every game. I don't think we need to look at the schedule and say "if we can just go .500 over this stretch". This year we must look at every game like its a chance to win.

1560 am just confirmed the schedule. All noon home games except the MNF and TNF. The 12/19 game is a road game going to Tenn. The Texans have 2 3pm road games and it Washington and Oakland.

I hate the schedule. All freakin noon home games again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9/12 – Indy @ Home noon
9/19 – @ Washington 3pm
9/26 – Dallas @ Home Noon on Fox
10/3 - @ Oakland 3pm
10/10 – NY Giants @ Home Noon
10/17 – Chiefs @ Home Noon
10/24 – Bye
11/1 - @ Indy MNF 7pm
11/7 – San Diego @ Home Noon
11/14 - @ Jax Noon
11/21 - @ jets Noon
11/28 – Tennessee @ home Noon
12/2 - @ Philly – Thursday nite 7pm
12/13 – Baltimore @ Home MNF 7pm
12/19 – @ Tennessee noon
12/26 - @ Denver Noon
1 / 2 – Jaxsonville @ Home Noon

If you are going to have a so-called hard schedule, the Texans have managed (on paper at least):

1) Not to have a 3/4 game "death march"
2) Play Indy 1st game & after a bye week
3) If they are actually good have a stretch of winnable (not easy) games to close the season.

So a month later we play the Cowboys again?
Should have had more space considering the week 3 preseason matchup.

Notes:

Wish we could have more than one MNF game at home and although I am excited about it, I wish it was against an AFC South opponent or someone like Denver/Cowboys/etc.

Going to be a really tough test coming out against the Colts and we all know how openers go with the Texans.

I like the bye week position and that we have two away prime time games.

Also I wish the week before/after christmas were at home because I know I will be in Houston around that time for the holidays and also I just like having home games in the christmas spirit!

Can't wait until the season starts!

3 out of our first 4 games are at home. Good chance to start off strong even if the early schedule is brutal.

I like the fact we play the Colts the first game of the year - it could be a statement game that could really determine how the Texans come out the gate into the season. A win against the Colts would really help their confidence.

I like the schedule, but still cringe thinking of the Peyton Manning's opening day. However, we pull that game off and Houston will go nuts! We need to draft a CB in the first two rounds and not miss.

Weeks 11-16 will be tough..

I'm just glad we're not playing on Thanksgiving, as there's a more important game that night...

PFT labels the Texans with the TOUGHEST schedule in the NFL.:

Texans get more national exposure
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 20, 2010 7:42 PM ET

Fantasy football owners have always had a soft spot for Gary Kubiak's Texans because they always put up yards, if not wins.

Now that the team is finally coming off a winning season, they are getting more respect from the national television networks.

The Texans appear in primetime three times, the most ever for the franchise. They head to Indianapolis in Week Eight for a Monday night game, play on Thursday night in Week Twelve in Philadelphia, and host the Ravens on Monday night in Week Thirteen.

Houston hosts the Colts in Week One, which just may be the most meaningful opener in the league. (We can hear the stories now: Either "More of the same" or "This year will be different!")

Based on 2009 winning percentage, the Texans have the toughest schedule in the league. But we've seen in past years that number means virtually nothing. A game that looks tough in April often doesn't turn out that way by November.

Am I missing something? Colts, Skins, 'boys... there isn't anything tough about that schedule. I'm predicting 3-0. Write it down.

Them damn Espn assholes. Every highlight I saw while Marr was talking was a negative play for the Texans! Wtf?

I'm not panicking. We're a good football team. I expect us to play well the majority of the time regardless of who we're playing and when. Lots of tough games but if you don't think those teams are concerned about playing us too you're mistaken.

How much fun is that week 1 game going to be!?!

My quick thoughts

Indy @ Home like i say every year :( its now or never its time to dethrone teh colts

@ Washingtonthere just learning how to win except this time no there is no young draft QB stud its just ol Mcnabb so we should be fine

Dallas @ HomeTime 2 show who teh true kings of texas are

@ Oakland 3pmTeh black hole !!!! if we are u we say we are then we should dismantle the raiders if we are the same ol texans by this point then this will be a challenge

NY Giants @ Homewe play a manning 3 times this year ...we got to take care of our home games plus i think NY is on a slide infact i think all of the NFC east is on a slide this year IMO lets hope im right

Chiefs @ HomeTrap game Young and hungry CHeifs

Bye

@ Indy MNFJust like tenn we will have 2 weeks to pepare for Indy

San Diego @ HomeA team we have never beaten

@ Jax Divison game

@ jets We have never beat teh Jets

Tennessee @ homeDivison game

@ Philly – Thursday niteTNF u know i think we can handle philly who knows who will be QB Kolb or maybe even Vick by this point

Baltimore @ Home MNFNever beaten them might has well change that on a national stage

@ TennesseeDivison game

@ Denver Another Snow BOWL

Jaxsonville @ Home Divison game

I haven’t read all 12 pages but please tell me I’m the first to say it: “week 1, Sept. 12 Indy @ Reliant, THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME IN TEXANS HISTORY”

everygame this year is the MOst important IMO its all or nothing this season either we rise or we Crumble

are only goal should be to raise that lombardy trophy in Dallas

Are you "slatonisabeast's" twin brother?

Im a little upset at the fact that we didn't get any 3pm games at home.. We got 3 of them but they are all away, regardless not a bad schedule at all with 3 primetime games!

Agreed... at home the first game of the season. I like our chances :)

Have we ever played a game in the snow?

was is chicago?

we played a game that was below a certain temperature (40 or so and can't remember) .. I just remember the announcers saying that we never have won a game below this temperature am't .. and we won )

but I can't remember at this time where and when
(without looking it up _)

Chicago and then Green Bay.

2-4 to the bye, 2- 6 down the stretch. Whole lot of players will have to make a monumental step forward this summer to avoid a ten loss season. All three four defenses features a stout guy in the middle. Unless we miracle catching all of them with their premier NT's down, we will not be able to run the ball against them. Just a matter of time before MS goes down and we become zero dimensional team . Can not run the ball and can not throw the ball. Write it down.

No west coast games. No 3-4 game roadies, long week tp prepare for balty monday night, and a familiar opponent to open the season. I am not mad about the schedule.

Games in the snow are awesome. I have plenty of experience attending those games up here in the great white north.
