First details and screenshots for Madden NFL 11. What do you guys think? The screenshots don't look too different from last year and I could have sworn they already had something about WR AI knowing where the sidelines were, etc. I hope that they actually make improvements and just don't forcefeed "small adjustments" down our throats with these blogs and actually make the changes to make the game better.

That second picture looks awkward.

What do you expect from EA?

If I am the only person able to sell red tomatoes do you think I am going to dump alot of money into fertilizer to make better red tomatoes?

I could care less about the graphics as long as they improve the gameplay...which they probably won't. Guess we'll find out when a demo is released.

This...The NFL 2K series was light years ahead of EA as far as gameplay....why they just won't incorporate that from the 2K series is beyond me. Nevertheless...i'll get my copy b/c i'm a football junkie in every sense of the word.

Totally agree 100%.

I havent purchased a Madden game for years, but I think I am going to get this one since I havent owend a 5th gen NFL brand football game.

EA better put out a quality product this year.

Same old stuff. People shell out $60 bucks every year for the same exact game.

There just needs to be roster downloads for each new season.

WR AI needs to change and the game needs to get better at knowing when a player is actually out of bounds or not. I remember about a season or 2 ago my buddy and I are playing a tight one comes down to one final play and and his WR catches the ball in the back part of the endzone. The reply clearly showed BOTH feet out of bounds. It wins the game. I reply it like 3 times. He does not say a word to me while I am watching the replys. Then when I finally just accept what has happend. He turns to me with a huge grin on his face. Says "Yup that was crap but that is Madden."

If it wasn't for EA and the NFL, 2K would rip Madden's throat out! Superior gameplay, easy to learn, fun to play, and only around $20 bucks, why the heck would you overpay for a Madden game that takes forever to master?

Bring 2K back and restore the order to the universe!!!

EA paid a ton of money to secure the rights and they tried to do the same with the NBA

Am I the only one here that's never played the Madden football game?

I haven't played since like 5 years or longer and it was Madden 2001 on a PS2. I have Wii and hear those aren't great for Madden so I have not played it. I guess I am not the gamer I used to be.

I'm starting to get hyped up over this game, hoping it doesn't disappoint. From the first impressions I've read about Backbreaker on various gaming sites, they all have been positive.

Oh, and some more info on Madden from IGN:

"Not only will players recognize the boundaries of the field, but Cummings also said that they'd be fully aware of the location of first down markers. "We have specifically tuned and added support to make it so receivers wait for the ball on a curl and have awareness for the first down. Also, receivers will now be working to catch the ball in stride on crossing routes so they don't end up slowing down or losing yardage," said Cummings. He later conceded that receivers will occasionally lose yardage if it means coming back to the ball and avoiding an interception. I, for one, can live with that.

But what about defense? It seems with all this newfound firepower for the offense, the defensive guys might have fallen by the wayside. Cummings assured us that wasn't the case, saying, "We never want to make it so the offense is too powerful, so we have really focused on giving the defenders the ability to go up and also knock the ball out in mid-air. We've added all new animations for mid-air collisions so defenders have an even better ability to get up with a receiver and fight for the ball. With recent changes, players will definitely play the ball more aggressively, but the elite guys are the ones who are going to be able to hang on to it." So while you'll see wide receivers like Larry Fitzgerald going up in traffic and coming down with an astounding grab, there's certainly the opportunity for defenders like Ed Reed to make you sorry you ever tried working the ball into the middle of the field."

The parts I bolded should have been added a while ago...oh well, at least they are adding it =\.

The awareness of the first down thing was pretty much taken care of in my eyes when they added the ability of the gamer to extend routes to the 1st down marker with smart route a couple of years back.

The main thing i want them to get right year in & out & they always seem to screw it up is the ratings for each skill set. Yeah i get that peyton manning is good and all, but guys shouldn't be able to scramble with him where he's running as fast as a rb b/c he's a pocket passer & slow as a glacier....That kind of stuff just irks the hell out of me..
