looking back...schaub to houston

i was one of the people who did not like carr...i was mad as hell when we passed on vince i was like who the hell is mario ? never heard of him .
we decided to get a qb in 2007 about time..i was so happy to hear we were geting a qb then....i heard he was a back up i was furrius i did not under stand that espn ment the back up to vick not a back up for houston
so i found out in training camp he got paid a six-year, $48 million contract
i was like damn i wana be a back up qb if i get paid that kinda money then it hit me he is the starter ? how he only played 2 games ? why in the hell would we pay him 48m for 6 years if he played 2 games ? i was offichaly about to jump off the band wagon. preseason came up and i was shocked by his poise in the pocket i thaught maby we got something here then he got hurt..damn there gos everything sage did wonderful every one wanted him to be the starter i rember when i went to the dolphans game when he ran into the endzone for the game wining td every 1 before that was saying sage sage sage we want sage and then he looked into stand and thru the ball i new he was mad i enw next week would be beter and it was but when he got hurt every 1 said he was a bust. the next year came healthy 16 games but this 1 game made me think he is no bust he dislocated his schoulder and got it put baqck in rex the x grossman thru a pick for a td and schaub came back out and won the game the texans now have a franchise qb ever since that game i been on his side the whole way.

If he can repeat his number from last year, I think Schaub will be regarded as an elite QB. He has the potential to be our guy for the next years. I think him being here will be a major benefit in keeping AJ in town as well

Yikes. Paragraphs, slatonisabeast, paragraphs. I can stand everything else, but I see that giant wall of text and want to run away.

I think Schaub and Houston will be married for a long time, regardless of the head coach/front office... he's a big time QB, definitely a keeper.

Made my eyes bleed...didn't read.

Punctuation is your friend.

Tried to read

Couldn't make it all the way through.

I just had to take a break!

Yeah, I hated the deal at first. I just couldn't imagine giving up two 2nd round picks for someone elses backup QB who, at the time, really didn't have much more to show for his time in the NFL than Sage did.

Now we have one of the better QBs in the league, and my prediction of his demise was one of many predictions I've gotten wrong here. LOL

I wish that statement were true..we would have been 10-6 and made the playoffs. Everything happens for a reason though and that game won a lot of fans over IMO.

i was offichaly about to jump off the band wagon. preseason came up and i was shocked by his poise in the pocket i thaught maby we got something here then he got hurt..damn there gos everything sage did wonderful every one wanted him to be the starter i rember when i went to the dolphans game when he ran into the endzone for the game wining td every 1 before that was saying sage sage sage we want sage and then he looked into stand and thru the ball i new he was mad i enw next week would be beter and it was but when he got hurt every 1 said he was a bust

Dude, that is one sentence. War and peace was shorter. Run-on sentences are hard to read. Periods are your friend. And if it's a long post separate your thoughts into paragraphs.

If the Texans find their running game, Schaub won't have to repeat those numbers and still will be an elite QB....

Oh this is just sad...

Somewhere out there, the English language is rolling over in it's grave...

The one thing I'd like to see Schaub do better this year is get rid of the ball quicker. Make defenses respect the fact that the ball comes out very fast by making faster decisions.

If posters would copy and paste a couple of lines at a time, I might be able to read that post.

Hard to tell if it is any good or not when one cannot get through even half of it before the eyes become blurry.

I think this is an overstated problem. Holding the ball too long is generally a sign of indecision and poor processing. That's not what happens with Schaub. He has demonstrated an ability to very quickly release the ball and make his progressions. There are times when he holds the ball for a long time but it is because he sees the coverage and is waiting for a receiver to make the move to become open and is willing to take the hit. Better to throw it away or take the hit after a delay than throw an INT.

My loose translation:

I was one of the people who did not like David Carr. I was in fact mad as hell when we passed on Vince Young. I was like "Who the hell is Mario?" because I'd never heard of him.

When we decided to get a qb in 2007 it was about time and I was so happy to hear we were finally getting another QB. When I heard he was a back up I was furious. I didn't understand that ESPN meant that Schaub had been the backup to Michael Vick. I thought he was going to be a backup QB for the Texans.

Then I found out in training camp that was being paid a six-year, $48 million contract and I thought "Damn! I want to be a backup QB if it pays that kind of money!" Then I was struck by a blind flash of the obvious and realized that he was going to be our starter. I was concerned that he had only played in 2 games and I couldn't figure out why we would pay him so much money. I was officially about to jump off the band wagon at that point. Then preseason came up and i was shocked by his poise in the pocket. I thought maybe we had found our QB at last. Then he got hurt.

Sage did a wonderful job and many people wanted him to be the starter. I remember going to the Dolphins game when he ran into the endzone for the game wining touchdown. Before that everyone wanted Sage. When Matt looked into stands and threw the ball I knew he was mad about that and I knew that the next week he would be even better. He was better the next week too but then he got hurt again and people began calling him a bust

Last year he stayed healthy for 16 games. The game that convinced me that he wasn't a bust was the Jacksonville game where he dislocated his shoulder. Rex Grossman didn't play well but Shcaub came back out and got us back in the game. I think the Texans now have a franchise QB and ever since that game I have been on his side 100%.

I think another thing it does, is make teams slow up a little bit. As we aquire more weapons teams must drop more guys into coverage. I think that the first two years you saw teams blitz the heck out of him.. but they seem to have figured out that he knows how to step up into the pocket. Teams.. get this Houston... have to respect the fact that we have a guy who can make decisions under pressure. Wow.. we haven't heard that since "you've just been mooned" signs were rocking the Dome.

I thought, maybe we've got something here. Then, he got hurt..damn, there goes everything!

Sage did wonderfully, everyone wanted him to be the starter.
I remember when i went to the Dolphins game...he ran into the endzone for the game winning TD. Everyone before had been saying "Sage Sage Sage" "we want Sage" and then he looked into stands and threw the ball.
I Knew he was mad. I knew next week would be better and it was, but when he got hurt everyone said he was a bust. The next year came, he was healthy 16 games, but this one game made me think he is no bust. He dislocated his schoulder and got it put back in. Rex the x Grossman threw a pick for a TD and Schaub came back out and won the game.

The texans now have a franchise QB. Ever since that game i been on his side the entire way.

Seems to be a lot of words for not saying very much. Guess I didn't miss much by not being able to read the original post.

Thanks for the translations Hervoyel.

Hey guys, no need for insults imo. Let's help Slatonisabeast, not knock him down. You don't help a guy off the pavement by stepping on his throat.

While I agree, he's had at least 12 years to figure it out ( going by how long he's probably been in school). I use to defend him but come on now , how hard is it to put ur post in microsoft word first . Come on now dude, most schools offer free tutors as long as u stay after school .

Normally I would agree with you here, Porky. However, he's been offered help and advice and he's yet to make the most of it. Can't help somebody that won't except it, yet yearns for it.

Ya I can see what you are saying, but not everyone has the same abilities.

C'mon man!! You were doing so much better and now have regressed back to this. I challenge you to take your OP and re-work it into something legible and lucid. You can do it. We've seen it.

SIAB
You were doing so well. I know you've had alot of things going on in your life. But it's time to get back on the horse and do your best.

I'm really rooting for you.

Keep trying

I kinda like that he'll hold it for as long as possible and try and make something happen. I spent way too much time watching Carr dump the ball off to a rb instead of hangin tight and making a play. Just my :twocents:
