more class from Eagles fans

Probably instigated by the 49er fans....

No, it doesn't work that way there. The only instigating you need to do in that stadium is wear another team's colors. I used to live there and have been there several times. I was actually at the infamous "Snowball Game" vs the Cowboys in 1989. It was the same situation where we had to dig our seats out and the snowballs started flying. They nailed Jimmy Johnson and knocked down a ref with an iceball.

It's really a mob rules mentality there where civilized people change as soon as they walk through those gates. Those guys actually have the "tradition" of chanting "a ** hole" in unison by section when they spot someone wearing another team's colors.

I admit having gone to so many games there it affected me. I remember coming back to Houston to go to an Oilers game in the Dome and I was disappointed that the Oiler fans weren't harrassing the Chiefs fans in our section. I remember thinking "isn't someone at least going to throw some beer on them or start yelling vulgar things at them?". I thought the Oilers fans were lame for not giving them a hard time. Back then I just thought that was normal fun fan behavior at an NFL game thanks to growing up going to Eagles games.

I just found a clip from that Cowboys Eagles snowball game I was at. Notice halfway through how many snowballs are hitting the field and then you see Terry Bradshaw showing a snowball that almost hit them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1xkP2vyTPU

Typical...

On another note the Phillies should take a look at some of them. There were some pretty good arms.

Meh, it looks like all you need to do is move seats. They continue to throw the snowballs in the same area.

yeah, they hate those seats! Your post reminded me in the scene from "The Jerk" where Steve Martin figured someone hates the oil as someone was shooting and missing him at the gas station.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing.

The Texans will play IN Philly next year. You can check their schedule for many years to come and the entire NFL on johhnyroadtrip.com. I tried to put the link but it wouldn't take...

but their home and away games on there.

There was an extra "h" in the name. Thanks for posting that, very cool site. :spin:

More class from Philly. This happened during Villanova vs Fordham in NJ.

twenty second video

Someone responded what a great job by the dad for "smacking that crap down quick" and saying the kid probably wouldn't do that again...lol

If I would have done that for the camera (or not for the camera) I would have been in the upper deck with an ice cream come enema inside of 5 seconds. :clown:

Kidding aside, I imagine if I did that we would be in the car soon thereafter.

interesting site, thx for the info.

so we have Dallas and the NYG here, and Philly/Washington on the road. I bet the RFK game would be a fun road game!

everytime I hear about someones experiences either living or visiting Philly, it's almost always a negative one.

I like Philly the city because of the history but that's it. When one can't go to a football game without fear of being hurt in some way something is wrong.

Quick story.

My bro that works for the Cowboys was able to go to the game in Philly this year. The Jones' took their work team and others up there as a group. He said it was scary at times. At one point when the Cowboys made a play late in the game my brother stood up and cheered. Some Philly fan really started heckling them and threatening them. Security came down and asked the Cowboy group if "they" had a problem. They were like "what are you talking about, we are just cheering." Security told them "just don't stare at these people, its best for you." Almost like, "don't feed the animals." After the game they were escortd out. The people are nuts.

A 49er fan called in to Sirius NFL Radio yesterday and stated that when the PA announcer asked for a moment of silence for Chris Henry, many of the turds around him started chanting A-S-S-H-O-L-E.

That doesn't surprise me. They have no class. It's always a good day for me when the Eagles go down. The fans there are world class jerks.

It looked to me like the kid was doing a "V for victory" sign but was holding a nacho chip with his index finger so it came across as flipping the bird. Usually a bird flip is intentional and obvious. Try to hold something with your index finger and thumb and do a "V for victory" sign and it looks like you're trying to flip a retarded bird. If the nacho chip wasn't in his hand and this happened, I'd say bird flip attempt. But it is definitely arguable that it was just a failed V. JMO

as someone has been to "the linc" the guys and girls in my section where well behaved compared to some of the goons in other sections i might get slammed for this but i'm also a eagles "fan" i grew up a big reggie white fan and i always dreamed of a oliers /eagles super bowl when the oilers left i started to root for the eagles but when we got the texans my eagles fandom went way down! but with any fanbase there's good apples and bad apples but in philly there just happens to be alot more jerks than nice guys! that being said i'll be there next season

I agree. Don't think he knew why his dad was hitting his hand down.

Blah to the Eagles..they've had years of acting this way and it's not a coincidence that something has happened AGAIN at an Eagles game.

i do not agree with their actions because i heard some really racist things in the stands and this is the city who booed santa! but i think fans of teams like the browns have shown they can be just as worse as philly

I've been to the Browns stadium (granted it was some years ago) and they were much better behaved than the Eagles nation.

There's just no excuse for the way they act. They're not fans. They're thugs.

And this goes on year after year. It's not just this year and this game.

Enjoy the game next year..wouldn't wear Texans gear though or even cheer. That's hazardous to your health up there.

Eagles ownership perpetuates this behavior. Every one of those people who threw snowballs should've a) been kicked out of the game and b) if they were season ticket holders had their season tickets revoked or if they bought their tickets from season ticket holders, those people should've had their tickets revoked also. If they started cracking down on thugs like that, bet ya this behavior would stop.

Yep. You're right.

Or they could put a jail in there, keep raking in the money from the season ticket holders and the additional bail money made every game. Oh...but they already tried that becuase the fans calmed down. Guess they should bring it back and make the addition of bringing in "ol' sparky" from Huntsville.

No, I meant the fans didn't realize the niner fans got up and moved and were still throwing snowballs in the same area....

oh never mind. But that was a pretty good transition to "the jerk".
