How are we better than the Jets? They kicked our tails in Houston.
The Jets have clearly regressed since that game against us. Sanchez has lost some of his swagger and now that opposing teams have game tape on the Rex Ryan Jets Defense, it isn't as unstoppable as before.
That being said, the Dolphins scored 21 points with defense and special teams, so I dont know how bad the jets really are

I don't know if we are better than them. But do you think the result would have been the same if we played today? Were the Texans that beat the Steelers with 47 yds of total offense a better team.

Thanks. We would like to destroy the Dolphins very much. And the Patriots also. Those are the last two games of the season for the Texans, so that should make things interesting for us, and for the Jets as well.
Now that the teams around the league have tape on Sanchez for the first half of the season, they can game plan for him. They will no longer be caught by surprise like the Texans were. Same thing for Rex Ryan's blitz packages. So Sanchez is now probably going to need a couple of seasons before he fully develops into the QB that Jets fans expect him to be. Peyton Manning did, so it is not unrealistic to think that Sanchez might need that time as well. That is the price that is usually associated with starting a rookie QB in the NFL.
But in the interim, the Jets have a lot of good players around Sanchez. And Sanchez is not single-handedly loosing games for the Jets, as far as I can tell. He is doing OK for a rookie. The Jets went to the playoffs last year, and there is still a lot of good talent on that team. I would expect Ryan to rally the troops, and you guys should be in the running coming down the home stretch.
I said it on your board right after the Texans lost to the Jets, and I will say it again. The Texans would very much like a rematch against the Jets in the playoffs. You guys might have thought I was blowing smoke back then, but probably not any more. That would be a good matchup, and I hope that somehow it happens.

Sanchez was not the problem today. He played exceptionally well in the 2nd half. You guys don't understand what it is with the Jets. The playcalling was horrendous, the defense stopped the Wildcat cold and blitzed the crap out of Henne. We are just a cursed franchise with no luck. 3 freak TD's by ST and a freakin dummy fumble.
Nevertheless, You guys are 5-3 and have a pretty good schedule to deal with. Good luck the rest of the season.
