daunta post game

He was asked if he felt like they let everyone down. He mentions everyone from the head coach to the waterboy but leaves the fans out. Just thought it was interesting, seems he could care less about the people who actually pay his salary.

In some ways i can understand how the players can feel a little bitter towards the fans. Some fans can be pretty bad at times but players have to realize that most fans are pretty respectable and have been rooting and supporting our (losing)team for a long time. I think we deserve a little respect.

Daunta has went from my favorite player to least favorite in less than a year. As ive grown older, its attitudes like his that have drove me away from sports. Football is about the only thing i watch anymore and sometimes i wonder why is still watch that.

If you asked every player on the team to whom they felt the most responsibility, their teammates or the fans, every single one of them would say "teammates."

and it should be. just seemed he made an effort not to mention the fans. he named just about everyone else.

meh......I'm still in the "Dunta can kiss my ass" stage. He certainly hasn't done anything to motivate me otherwise.

He did not make an effort to leave out the fans. He would have had to have consciously thought about the fans to leave them out. And I am not saying it's a good or bad thing, but I honestly don't think too many players think much about the fans when they lose like this. They're thinking about their teammates, their coaches, and things within their organization.

IMO, that is how it should be. I want them to focus on each other and fix the problems. As a fan, I'm easy to please - just win.

did you hear the interview?

How many of the other players mentioned the fans?

damn! you got me. actually he was the only one that was asked that question, only one i heard anyway. if anyone would actually bother to listen to the interview i think most people could sense what i'm talking about. its really not that big a deal. im just pissed at this team. as we all are.

Jacoby mentioned.

(on if he took the fans booing personally) "Honestly, I do. You're the fans, we ride or die, we play for y'all, and y'all cheer for us. We're here for y'all and y'all are here for us."

(on if there is anything he wants to say to the fans) "I wont say anything to them. Just ride with us that's all. We're going to show up."

Also I like what Dunta was saying personally. About the full accountability. Yeah its just talk (just like before this game) but at least he's not pointing fingers.

Also Jacoby...the fans are wondering When? When are the Texans going to show up?

You didn't post a link, so don't get onto anyone for not searching for it.

Jacoby mentioned.

Exactly. I'm honestly hoping for something better then 8-8. They have to go 9-4 the rest of the way just to have a shot at making the playoffs. They better start showing up if they want to be there this year.

You didn't like the fumble that he caused today?

That was a great play, but one play that got me screaming at the TV was on that 4th and 1 in the fourth quarter where Dunta whiffed on the tackle in the backfield on MJD. Our entire defense needs to work on tackling...

I heard the interview. I don't know that he made an effort to not mention the fans, but I thought the same thing.. "what about the fans?"

You know they went on about Chris Brown getting all "emotional" & that it shows how much this game means to the players....

But statements like Dunta's make me feel that they don't understand how much it means to us. There was one guy who called in, on his way back to Austin. He was talking about how he made the trip to Tennessee to support his team...

But you're right. Doesn't seem like that meant anything to Dunta Robinson.

I'd call that play a draw for him getting beaten on the throw and giving up the first down. He lucked into a tackle that hit squarely on the ball. But I'm sure we'll just be able to chalk this one up to the "biggest little hitter" in football.

Well at least the good thing is we didn't sign him but for what one year at 10+ million. Looks like we might not have to worry about the franchise tag this year if he keeps playing like this.

He wiffed for air on MJD on the 4th and 1..
