No more open mouth!

I thought I'd put something on here a little more positive. I've recently looked at all the interviews and was watching when Rick Smith was being interviewed during the game. I'm kind of happy to see that from management down, everyone seems pretty PO'ed at the effort that was on the field. Remember the days of just an open mouth on the sidelines and that all we had to do was take a good long look at ourselves in the mirror and come back ready to work were gone.

Now we get a coach that says this unit played unacceptably, and this player has to do better. Rick Smith said all but cuss when he was being interviewed and watching the game.

The starters should play most of the 1st half of the Vikings game, so we'll know more after Monday night anyway. I'm really looking forward to seeing the defense and how they handle A. Peterson.

I would say at the very least the entire first half. :turtle:

I think that there is definitely more accountability with this new staff, compared to the early years. What we need to see now is whether it translates into improvement on the field. The game Monday should not be viewed as just another pre-season game for the team or the coaching staff.

There has been a lot of talk about the players on defense, but some of the blame has to be placed on the coaches. Kubiak and Co need not only need to get guys in the right place on the field - they have to have these guys ready to play from the first snap of the game.

Also, the next time I see Kubes make a challange that is correct, it will be the first.

He does stink at challenges, but he did the right thing by challenging Mario's sack fumble. If it weren't for that stupid freakin tuck rule he probably would've won the challenge. Brees' knee landed on Mario's arm before it hit the ground.

I think the Ref screwed Kubiak over by ruling on something Kubiak didn't challenge and still took a TO away.

The "tuck rule" has got to be the dumbest rule ever, yet it's never even brought up in the off-season meetings.

It helped us beat Miami.
