It's been months with no football. I don't care what's on TV, it's all about football! And this year, for the first time since the Texans were in it, I actually have a team to root for in the HoF game. I'm not sure who it is, but whoever is playing against the Tacks. Jets?
The Chiefs are my "second favorite team" after the Texans so I always have
mixed feelings when they play each other.
Anyway its an important game for the Texans because the Chiefs are migrating to the 3-4 and given the history (much of it bad) we've had with that defense, we need the practice against their 3-4 since our season opener is also a 3-4 team.

I just realized it's only 11 days until the first preseason game at KC. Live Texans football again the weekend after this coming. The drought is coming to an end. We are almost there.
Can't wait. Anyone know if their first rounder has signed yet?

What's really exciting is that I looked ahead on my directv guide and put a record on the Texan's preseason game next week. That's about as far ahead as it would go, but it was a good feeling actually seeing it show up on the guide.

I know I hate pre-season football. So why am I so looking forward to it getting started next Saturday night? I don't think I've ever been this anxious to see some pre-season action since the first season.
And FWIW speaking of the 1st season, that is the only time the Texans have opened the pre-season away from Reliant Stadium. Next Saturday night will be the 2nd time.

Bad news is that our terrible secondary isn't even ready for a preseason game and has a long ways to go.
Good news is that our rookies and 2nd yr. players will learn alot about NFL football in these preseason games and should mature alot as well. Also I can't wait to see our new D-line and LB'r corp working together and can't wait to see if Duane Brown has really taken steps in the right direction and if Steve Slaton can pick up where he left off.

yeah, our cornerback situation is worrysome to say the least, but the young guys will get a lot of experinece soon. I don't think we'll see the first teamers past the 1st quarter though, but in some positions on our team, the 2nd string IS the 1st string now.

Oh no...I love it 'cause it's football, don't get me wrong. But pre-season is a different game and by the time that 3rd and especially the 4th game rolls around.....well, you know. Can we get to some real football already?
I'm becoming more and more in favor of dropping a couple of pre-season games and adding them to the regular season. The regular season is just too damn short, the shortest of any sport, and the pre-season is too damn long.

Me too exactly. 100% Hall of Fame game is a holiday for me. I coudn't care less about the outcome or even the game. I just want to see them on the field in uniform hitting each other because it signifies that football season is officially here!

I'm happy also Nitro, but there's only one setback.
The two players I was looking forward to see the most won't be playing, Cushing (well because he's the 1st round pick) and Arian Foster (because I heard so many good things about him and I'm worried about our backup RB spot....hoped he would've filled it.)
Regardless though, is Glover back from his little nick up?, because I'm excited to see him play as well. Heck regardless it'll be fun, because it's going to be Texans' football, just wish I could see Cush and Arian.

I disagree. Watching Antonio Smith and where he plays will be the best part of the KC game for me. Barwin should see some action so that will be good too.
