(*- Live NFL-N Telecasts)

I'm not exactly thrilled about when Houston airs, but all in all it's on and one way or another I will see them. Just three weeks away. I know many don't have the network, but hopefully this may help in planning ahead to see the games.

oh yeah baby! primetime! the ever coveted 10am slot and then the superstar slot, 1am!

can't wait to tell the planet we told you so! :)

Go Texans!

Is this Central or Eastern?

You know? I'm not freaking sure. I looked quickly at it but don't have the time now to decipher the list (since it isn't consistent) Here is the print that came with it......

NFL Network is home to all the NFL preseason games for the first time with 65 games airing on the only network dedicated entirely to football. In addition for the first time, the entire NFL preseason schedule will be seen in high definition nationally including 12 live preseason games, the most in the network’s history.

Week 1 of the 2009 NFL preseason on NFL Network features five live games highlighted by the debuts of first-round quarterback draft picks MATTHEW STAFFORD and MARK SANCHEZ. The live coverage kicks off with a doubleheader on Friday, August 14 at 8:00 PM ET with the St. Louis Rams vs. New York Jets, followed by Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers. Saturday, August 15 features the first-ever live tripleheader with the Atlanta Falcons vs. Detroit Lions beginning at 4:00 PM ET, followed immediately by Chicago Bears vs. Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks vs. San Diego Chargers.

There’s no better place for Fantasy Football fans to prepare their picks and depth charts for the 2009 regular season than with NFL Network and NFL.com’s all-encompassing coverage of the 2009 preseason. All 12 live preseason games will include halftime shows featuring NFL Network’s team of analysts from its Los Angeles studios and five-minute NFL Network Now updates between game broadcasts reporting the most up-to-date news and information. NFL Network’s schedule includes a total of 162 telecasts as it includes every game, live games and game replays of all the preseason action.

The first bolded text is 8pm eastern and the list shows 7:00. One would believe that means the list is Central-ese. The 2nd bolded text would leave you to believe it's Eastern-ese.

If it weren't for some of the cool stories you can see on that site I probably wouldn't go there, the guy that does it is kind of off. I do like his site though.

I added a 1TB drive to my DVR so I can record more. Unfortunately, I did it after the season was over. And really unfortunately, with this DVR, when you add an extra drive, it ignores the original drive. So, I don't have any Texan games to watch on my DVR right now.

thank god i have season tickets .....

but PS games are manily boring well the last game was aganist Tampa

seeing Alex bink and whats his face play was not fun LOL

Just an FYI for those that might benefit, Houston vs KC will be on at 9:00 this morning. The original post said ten and at the time I wasn't sure (see above) about eastern or central.

The times listed in the previous (long) post must be eastern.

In this day and age, showing a live NFL game in the old format is insanely ridiculous. Channel 13 is crap, and the Texans should get another local station for their pre-season games. I'm DVR'ing the NFLN broadcast this morning and will review later in the week. Thank god for for NFLN!

Is your DVR a cable box or a PC set-up?

Its going to be nice to see the game. Channel 13's lame ass excuse about it being broadcast across the state is just sad. It was the same way last season, and I doubt it will change next week. It is however, nice to be b!tchin about the broadcast rather than the the team though. :texflag:

I don't care what their excuse is, it's horrible to watch live NFL action in the old format. I want channel 13 gone.

first drive i was watching duane. looked decent except for one stuffed running play where he blocked nobody

amobi quick off the snap the first series. alot of quick throws so no real pass rush opportunities. pretty solid against the run

duane was alot better this drive. there was one play he blocked nobody again but especially in the RZ he was driving guys really far back. looks really comfortable in pass protection

If you're using DTV, you can disconnect your new external drive and all of your old programming will still be on the factory internal drive.

I do beta testing for DTV and have the HR-21-700 w/a 1TB external drive as well. Some pretty neat stuff coming down the pipeline.

Yeah, I realize that. But I didn't want to be changing that all the time. It takes several minutes for it to reboot and I'm just not that patient. :)

There are some DVR's that use the external drive in addition to their internal drive, that would have been nice. But it's no biggie.

A new season has started and I'm happy. I'll record the games in HD and use up this 1T.

HOWEVER, do you know of any high def DVD recorder that I can hook up to my DirecTV DVR so I can record the games to a DVD and then pop that in when I want to look at them? I'd love to end up with a DVD archive of the games.

And I'd love to hear about the stuff in the pipeline, too. :)

Will a Comcast cable box DVR work the same way?? I can run out and get a TB HD for < $100 if I can use it to download/save programming.

It says Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD on the front of the box. I wanna know if this has a shot at working before I dismantle my set up and buy the TB drive.

I have no idea about your box. My DVR has a USB port in the back so all I had to do was shut everything down, plug it in, and boot it all back up. And... voila! LOTS more space.

Which box do you have?
Depending on which one, a reboot might not even be needed.
Also, I'm running mine off the esata port which provides much much faster speeds than usb.

I don't know much about Comcrap errr Comcast boxes but I'd be more than happy to do some research. (I use to have Comcast - let's just say we had a falling out.)

Good News, YES!

It seems your box also has a eSATA connection. All you need is a drive with a eSATA port and the eSATA cable. Plug and Play.

Scientific Atlanta Explorer is a cisco brand and they will all take a hd expander. I have one and I bought an an iomega 500 gig hd extender and love it. I paid 69 bucks at Fry's on sale a few months back. 500 gigs is plenty big enough for me. I have tons of HD broadcasts saved and am never close to maxing out.

Ooops. That's right. I'm plugged in to the esata. I forgot. It's been a while.

I'm on an HR-21-100, I think.

Hey I understand; if I could switch to AT&T U-Verse I would. My daughter has it and absolutely loves it. She has all the channels I do, three boxes (one DVR) and high speed internet for about $40 cheaper than I'm paying.

But U-verse hasn't made it out in the country to League City.

Thanks for the info. There's a Fry's in my 'hood (League City). I'll swing by tomorrow. Look for the eSATA connectivity, right?

One more question: Can two Omegas be "daisy chained" to the DVR? I'm greedy where memory is concerned.
:D
