I hear that if you wear that jersey, you will suffer a horrible fate similar to that of Creusa, who burned to death when she donned a cursed dress given to her by Medea.

Is that a @%@$##&*% Titans patch on the upper left-hand side? No thanks.

All I see is the old AFL logo...

...where do you see a Titans' logo??

and that is the wrong color for the AFL Oilers

now THIS is a true throwback!
I'd give some good money to have a George Webster (or Kenny Houston) throwback jersey.
I'd hang it right next to my Earl Campbell jersey

I couldn't see it very well. My eyes do the best they can. I couldn't make it out clearly and I assumed. Please help me.

In my book the only #1 has the word Moon on the back. I don't care if he was the first round choice, he should have a #2.

Of course all the Titans players and fans are #2's in my eyes.

not really....the later Oiler jerseys were just like that one in the pic (as far as the deepness/richness of the color). Many teams tweaked their colors as the fabrics improved over the years.

They better not be wearing those uniforms in Reliant Stadium this season :wild:

They're not. They released the schedule of the games they will wear the Oilers jerseys, and thankfully the Texans games were not on that list.

Oilers Jersey Games
Aug. 9th - Pro Football Hall of Fame Game vs. Bills
Sept. 27th - Titans @ Jets
Oct. 18th - Titans @ Patriots
Nov. 15th - Bills @ Titans

Yeah, I know. But it seems to me that if they're gonna go throwback, they should throwback to jerseys that don't pretty much look like the ones they wore when the first got to Tennessee.

Look how far back the Jets

went when they wore throwbacks last year

well, the font on the jersey is from the 60's and early 70's and the Oiler jersey didn't really change much over time except for the fabrics and the richness of the color. If you look at the other Jersies you can see that the font isn't the same as the font they used when they moved.

meh! The whole fluffy powder blue thingy, just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I understand your point, but I have a #34 jersey (white) that I still wear with pride. And I'd give good money for a #57 Dr. Doom jersey.

I refuse to give Bud Adams the power to take the joy out of my Oiler memories.

it would be cool to get one with 8 and Schaub on the back. it doesn't have the Titans anywhere on it but I would feel bad giving Bud Adams more money out of my pocket than he already gets as a NFL franchise owner.

Whatever.

I'm not going to let Bud Adams turn me away from the powder blue. I loved my Houston Oilers and would have no problem buying a throwback jersey.

That number 34 supercedes ALL. Agree about Dr. Doom, arguably my favorite of all-time.

I thought Lee Williamson was # 10?

I don't think I go back that far. I just remember when Moon and Carlson went for a few weeks and we had to play Kansas City. Nick Lowery mised a PAT and some how we managed to make it to the one yard line. We then won the game 7-6 on a Brent Pease bootleg TD. I also recalled him wearing #10.

You are correct about Pease being #10. I was kidding.... sorta. Lee Williamson was on the practice squad for the Oilers in '94 and '95.

Cody was the starter,
Bucky Richardson
Billy Joe Tolliver

Lee Williamson

Billy Joe Tolliver

Seems like only a Houston team could have a QB named Billy Joe.

Then I remember that only the Saints could have said Billy Joe as their starter and back him up with a guy named......

....Billy Joe.

Oh the 90's.

It never did anything for me. I always hated the Oilers colors, even as I cheered on Sundays.
I always liked the color, mainly because I didn't really know any better.

At least he won 2 games for NO (2-9). Here, he went 0-7.

Here's a sneak preview of next season.

I would love that outcome!!

I wouldn't buy it...it says Oilers/Titans. Just let the oilers go. I can't understand why a former Oilers fan in Houston or a Tennessee Titans fan in Nashville would want to be in a that Jersey. Houston has no ties to the Titans just like Tennessee has no ties to the Oilers. I think with Bud changing the name of the team was proof that he was trying to cut ties with the Oilers. The Oilers are dead....RIP.
